Y/N POV
I find out that Gon had set a timer on how long Pitou could heal Komugi, and that Pouf and I had coincidentally came up on the fifty minute mark. However, because of Pouf and the way he had intercepted, Gon had ended the time and taken Pitou outside to fight her.
As Gon and Pitou walk out, I see figures walk in. Looking up in surprise, I see it's Killua and someone else. Palm?
Surprise overtakes me as I stand up.
"Palm? What are you doing here? And with Killua, of all people?"
She doesn't answer me but her eyes widen as she points behind me. "Turn around!"
I whip around to see millions of small Shaiapoufs, all heading directly to Komugi. She's not fully healed but she's awake, looking around blindly. I dash forward, grabbing the frail girl and then leaping back out of the grasp of the butterfly. I lightly toss the girl to Killua, who manipulates her onto his back.
All three of us start running out, Pouf hot on our tails. At a fork in the hallway, Killua and I dash through one and Palm through another.
When we make it out into the courtyard, I look back. "He's catching up," I pant. "There's too many of him for us to fend off at once."
"Fly above me," Killua orders. "I'm going to use God Speed. Just watch for my lightning."
I nod, breaking off from him. Pouf pays me no attention, streamlining directly towards Killua. I see a flash of blue, and suddenly Killua is gone. I transform into my light form, which is faster. I unfurl my wings and hurtle towards the sky. From a higher viewpoint, I can see the aftereffects of where Killua was, lightning sparkling on the ground.
Meeting up with them, I lightly land on the floor. Pouf catches up and splits up into multiple pieces again. He starts to attack us again, aiming for Komugi, but Killua continues to race off, holding her tightly to his back.
This happens for some time, when Pouf retracts. Killua slows down in confusion and I look from the air as Pouf starts to race for the castle. I look at Killua in distress, landing next to him.
"We have to go back to the castle," I tell him. "There has to be a reason why he left without retrieving Komugi."
He nods and we start to sprint back, him running and me flying. When we hurtle through the castle gates, we see Palm waiting for us.
"Is everything okay?" I ask, my white wings folding back.
"The King is here," Palm informs us.
My heart drops and I step back. There's no way. Grandpa was the one fighting him. I feel a warm hand on my shoulder, and I know it's Killua's. It's the only thing I feel and it grounds me.
We start to walk as Palm watches through her crystal ball. Suddenly she stops, shuddering.
"What's wrong?" he demands.
Palm tells us what happens, and a small Pouf appears, laughing at us. Killua throws up Komugi into the air. Me and Palm race to catch her, but I see Palm's already there, so I skid to a stop. Killua, on the other hand, darts forward and electrocutes Pouf, squishing him between his thumb and his index finger.
Palm shows the live footage of Gon again. He's in an adult body and aura leaks out of his body like never seen before. Pitou cowers pitifully at the base of a tree while Gon soullessly looks at her, raising his fist again.
"Let's go," Killua demands in a low voice.
I agree. I bid a quick goodbye to Palm, and she nods in response.
Killua turns on God Speed and rushes to Gon. I'm directly above him, my wings moving faster than I've ever gone before.
Rushing through the forest, I see bright flashes echo through the forest. I strain myself, beating my wings at the fastest I can go.
When I land, I see a man. He turns to us, and my breath catches, my eyes tearing up.
"Gon!" I scream, Killua's own echo of the word blending with mine.
The man is also crying as he continually punches Pitou's ruined face. When he deals the final blow, he looks back at us. A sad smile rests across his face.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Pitou get up. I panic, but it feels like my feet are stuck to the floor. Relying on my wings, I rush forward and see Killua rushing towards Gon as well. Killua and I tackle Gon and push him out of the way of Pitou's incoming claw, but we're too late. In an instant, Gon's right arm, the arm he uses for his Nen, is gone.
Gon looks at us sadly. "It doesn't hurt guys. I'm glad to be like this. How Kite was."
I hear Killua choke back a sob.
Pitou leaps back at us, but Gon jumps into the air and pummels down, breaking Pitou's body again. Again. Again. All Killua and I can do is watch him deliver blow after blow onto Pitou. She's long dead, her back and body broken, but he doesn't stop.
"GON!" Killua yells.
. . .
The world flashes yellow before my eyes and then vanishes. All that's illuminating us is the moonlight filtering through the forest's branches. I watch in horror as Gon's body falls to the floor, shriveling up on itself.
Killua's feet are frozen to the floor, but I dash over, catching him.
I can heal him. I know I can.
I put my hands to his heart and start to cry as I push down.
"Y/N!" Killua screams, running over to me, trying to pry me off of him. "Y/N, you can't do this. There are other healers out there, Gon is still alive. I can't lose you too."
"I can heal him!" is all I cry out, pushing down on his heart. Slowly, I hear his heartbeat come back to life. "If we wait, he might never open his eyes again."
"Y/N.." His voice trails off at my logic, and then all I hear are his screams. Killua's arms wrap around me, trying to pull me off of Gon, but I push down harder, pushing all of my Nen, my life force, into Gon, before falling over him.
