Y/N POV
I start hunting with Feitan, him teasing me and prodding me and I'm swatting back at him.
Day turns to afternoon, which soon turns to dusk. I get a call from Boss. "Hey, Y/N."
"Hello?"
"Come meet me at the Southern Entrance. I'll be in a limousine. I'll tell you the mission from there. Tell Feitan to meet up with Phinks."
I relay all of this back to Feitan. "Ok well good luck girly girl."
I take a deep breath. "Please, please stop calling me that."
"Mhm, sure." I turn around. "See you later, girly-girl."
"I give up."
I meet up with Chrollo. "Hi." I relax inside the car.
"I need you to help me get this girl." He shows me a picture of Neon. "I want her ability of fortune telling."
"So you want me to act extremely peppy about her?"
"Yes. Can you do it?"
"How do you think I'm alive?"
He grins.
On the way into the hotel, I see Neon. She's arguing with an officer. Chrollo nods at me and I roll down the window. "Oh. My. God. Is that you? Neon? As in Neon Nostrade? Wow, I can't believe I get to meet you in person!"
"I'm sorry . . . Do I know you?"
I shake my head. "No, but I've heard of you! Your fortune telling skills? AMAZING! Shouldn't you be in the auction?"
Neon smiles brightly. "Yeah! But this guy, he won't let me in!"
"Wait, what? This is such a coincidence! You see, my date dropped me so I have an extra ticket. Do you want to come with my dad and I?"
"Sure! But you'll probably have to ask your dad before inviting me."
"Please?" I turn to Chrollo and glare at him, writing in Nen: I regret agreeing to this. I hate you. You owe me.
"Sure, honey."
I turn back to Neon. "You can come!"
Neon heads into the back of the limo. I see Shalnark in the trees and wave to him. He spots me with Chrollo and waves back.
We're sitting in a dining room; Chrollo is talking to Neon about her powers while I sip at my Sprite.
"Could you tell my fortune, Neon?" Chrollo asks. "Hers too."
"Sure! Write your full name, date of birth, and blood type on a sheet of paper."
She hands the papers to us and I write mine down while calling for another drink.
Y/N (m/d) Lucilfer
August 8, 1999
(blood/type)
Chrollo looks at my answers. "Tori chose a good middle name. And last name."
I laugh and tell Chrollo about it as Neon writes the fortunes. "She always said that she wanted her daughter to have (m/d) as a middle name. And she loved you enough that she still wanted me to have your last name."
"She was a special one. I had to leave her since I didn't want to get her in trouble."
"Ah. Also, she mentioned another baby there with you? Who was it?"
"Oh, him? No, he wasn't my offspring he was actually a toddler that I found on the streets. He was pretty strong, so I took him in."
"Who was it though?"
"Shalnark. He's around a year and a half older than you."
"Really? He's 15? I thought he was older."
"Don't tell him that. Nobunaga might have let it slide but he won't."
"Ok. Hey, waiter!" I raise a hand up. "Can I have another soda?"
"Y/N. You've had enough."
"One more? Please?"
"Fine."
"Yes!" I squeal. "Can I change my order? I'll like a large pint of Sprite, please."
"I said one more."
"Well, you weren't specific. I interpreted it as one more order. So I asked for a pint." I shrug and he quietly chuckles.
"Here," Neon hands us our papers. I immediately slide it away though.
"What's wrong, Y/N?" Chrollo asks.
"You read it. I'm scared to. Because then I'll be cautious, and it'll make it more real."
"I get it." He reads his as I go over to the bar and talk to the waiter.
When I get back, he and Neon are gone. There's a note.
I am going to avenge Uvogin.
Shit, this isn't going to be good. How can I stay inside the Phantom Troupe and help Kurapika without hurting or harming anyone?
I'm with Neon currently. Your fortune was scrapped. I read it, but it made no sense in the slightest. I figured you wouldn't want to read it, since you denied earlier. For now, go meet up with any one of the Troupe members. They'll tell you the plan, since I'm running out of space on this paper. To find a member, just whistle. They'll come find you. And about your tattoo; we'll talk about it later and figure it out. See you later.
If you see anyone, you have permission to kill them. So go crazy.
Is he on to me? No, he would never suspect his own daughter. And what does he mean by go crazy?
I walk to the window and gasp, my eyes widening to an abnormal size. Everywhere, I see fires and gunshots and people falling to the floor, dead.
I didn't sign up for this much bloodshed. I run outside, bumping into two people along the way. "Sorry! Excuse me!"
The boy grabs my arm and twirls me around. I take out a cinquedea, reeling my arm back. I'm about to throw them when the boy holds up something in the air. I slash down right at his throat, but the blade stops.
That's . . . my card? I look at the user more carefully. He peeks out behind the card. "Gon?" I turn to the other boy. "Killua? You guys escaped! Look, Gon, I'm so sorry I almost tried to kill you right now."
"It's ok. I had my card on me."
"Yeah," Killua shrugs. "We're on the phone with Kurapika." He points at the phone in Gon's hand that's screaming at them.
"Let me take this." I grab it from Gon's hand.
"Hey, Kurapika."
"Y/N?"
"Where are you?" I ask innocently while I see him pace outside of the hotel.
"I can't tell you that. But I can see you."
"Well, I hope you can see me waving at you." I watch Kurapika turn swiftly in confusion and I wave slightly.
"Give the phone back to them," he orders. I do but when I hear the phone click shut, they're scowling.
"He won't let me help," Gon scoffs. So does Killua.
"Good job, boys. If you haven't noticed, Kurapika's right there." I point at him. "I gotta go and meet up with the Troupe."
"They're dangerous!" Killua cries out, pulling me to him.
I stay right there and look up into his eyes. "And staying with them is the only way that I can learn about them. Plus, I'm not getting hurt. I have my cards, and Dad won't let anything happen to me."
"Dad?" Killua asks softly, confusion laced through the word.
I grin at him. "Didn't I tell you? I'm related to Chrollo Lucilfer, leader of the Phantom Troupe."
Their jaw drops, but I don't hear or see what happens after, as I start to walk away. When I'm far enough away from them, I whistle. Feitan walks casually out of the trees.
"You ready to get outta here?"
I nod and smirk. "Yeah. I got an entire pint of soda!"
"Yuck."
