WHAT/WHO iS HADES? WHY iS HE IMPORTANT?

hades is the ruler of the underworld, as well as, the place souls end up after they die. in order for these souls to reach hades, they must first take the long journey across the river styx. hades story highlights the importance of coming to terms and accepting death as a natural fate for everyone. hades is the brother of poseidon and zeus, after the trio defeated the older generation of gods they were given the opportunity to rule their own kingdoms, zeus gaining the sky— poseidon gaining the sea— and hades gaining the afterlife. hades at first felt like he got the bad end of the stick as this new came power meant he was now dead as well. his story closely follows the way he came to terms with his death and how death is a testament to life and how fragile it can become.

WHO/WHAT iS RiVER STYX?

river styx is the river souls must first cross to make it to hades. to help these souls across, they are accompanied by ferryman charon. river styx is also commonly seen as a goddess in her own right gaining the title "the goddess of the underworld" empathizing her importance in the journey to the afterlife. to cross the styx, you must first pay the ferryman a coin, known as charons obol. for the souls that can not pay, they are to wonder the shores for hundreds of years before they can attempt to sneak by cerberus and join the queue to join the other souls passing into hades. souls that fall into river styx during the journey will bear the curse of achilles and become invulnerable to most physical attacks, excluding a small spot on their body that if struck will instantly kill them

WHAT iS PROJECT RiVER?

project river (프로젝트 강) is a 2023 reality girl group survival show aired on Mnet. The show aims to form a four member girl group out of a mix of twenty-four trainees from a variety of companies such as, jyp, yg, p-nation, rbw, 143, cube, and mnh. The participants will all be trained on vocal, rap, and dance throughout the shows season. The show is said to be inspired by Kpop Star, Mnet's idol school, Produce 48 and Produce 101. The debuting finalists will promote as a semi-permanent group lasting 5 and a half years under wakeone, before gaining the option to resign.
