I smiled at Paul as we ate our breakfast and he said "You must know I'm a fool for smiles, woman."

I chuckled lowly before Sarai looked at me with her signature puppy eyes, making me cut her a small piece of my pancake and feed it to her.

"Thank you, Mommy!" She squealed making me bop her on the nose softly

"Can we stay here with Brian and Meadow?!" She pleaded batting her big brown eyes at me

"Yeah, can we stay with Brian?" Paul then said making me glare at him playfully before looking at my daughter's pleading eyes.

"Come on, you know I'm fine with it!" Paul said making me groan and whine "Fine!"

Paul, Sarai, and Meadow began to cheer making me laugh and say "You got her from her Carnival date. No one can do that be proud!"

Paul looked at her and smiled "Is that so?!"

She smiled at him and nodded before staring proudly "Yup!"

"Well how about I make you and your mom a deal. When I get out of the hospital, I'll take you all to the Carnival." He said with that same genuine smile peered across his lips as he looked over at me hopefully.

"You don't have to do that. I mean you're going to be busy soon and I don't want to hold you up from work." I ranted

"I can make time. The studios come to me, not the other way around." He replied

"Please?!" Sarai and Meadow began to implore

"This your way for tricking me into a date?!" I laughed making him rub his temple nervously and reply "Yeah. Maybe."

"Dad. From a person claiming they have game, this isn't too much game I am currently watching." Meadow teased making me laugh

He then looked over at me with a flustered face and I shrugged my shoulders before laughing.

"Just admit it!" Paul exclaimed lowly as I chuckled lowly in a nearby chair with Sarai sleeping in my arms.

"Admit what?!" I asked playing coy

"Your own daughter told on you, you mind as well just say it." He laughed

"Whatever I may have had a crush on you! God, man, is that what you want to hear!?" I admitted looking over at his soft expression.

"Yes, it's exactly what I want to hear." He said licking his lips swiftly

"God. You are a mess!" I said softly pushing his shoulder

"It's not my fault you're beautiful." He gushed grinning ear to ear

"What happened to your neck?" He asked with his expression shifting as I softly touched my neck.

"Probably burnt it with my flat iron." I lied before he leaned over and moved my hair making me purse my lips together

"Your flat iron has a hell of a handprint."

"Listen, I-i..."

"You can talk to me, you know" He said lowly

I looked over at Meadow who was asleep and then at my daughter sleeping in my arms before he said "Is that why you didn't want to talk about him on the phone?"

I nodded with a sigh and said "It doesn't really matter who I tell, that mans got the city on lock."

"What do you mean?!" He asked eagerly

"I'm in a pretty nasty custody battle right now and that bastard wants to take my daughter, because she's my only source of happiness and the only person I have left. He wants me to come crawling back and I haven't yet and don't plan on it so he's making my life a living hell." I quavered

"I can help you-" He began to state before I cut him off "...No, I don't want to seem like that friend who's using you or trying to get over on you. I got it, Ive made it this far on my own, I pray I continue making it."

"I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to be more than friends" He stated making my eyes settle on his

"If you need anything I can help you. I'd be more than happy to." He said reaching over sitting his hand on mines

I forced a laugh and said "I'm really fine, thank you though."

"Can I take you to dinner one night, without the kids?!" He asked as a swarm of butterflies flew throughout my whole body

"I don't think that'd be a good idea. With the situation with your girlfriend and I'm really not who Hollywood expects you to show up and out with." I joked telling the honest truth

I mean society wouldn't accept a white male celebrity of his stature with a dark skin black female from Crenshaw. It was just the truth.

"I don't care what those people think. I spent too many years of my life caring, it's time for me to care about myself and my own happiness." He replied

"Yeah, but what about your pr relationship?" I asked trying to get him to see the reality of our situation

He then grabbed his phone briskly and called a number that rang a few times before the phone picked up.

"Hello!" Ashley answered

"We're over, please don't drop by my house anymore and lose my number." He said harshly before hanging up the phone

"Any more excuses?" He asked with a small smirk

I laughed lowly and shook my head 'no' before he asked again "Will you go out on a date with me?"

"Sure, speedy."

"Yes!" He whisper yelled making me nudge him softly
