"Paul, I told you something like this was going to happen. I don't want Meadow getting in trouble over me." Serenity nagged making me slightly roll my eyes

"This is ridiculous Serenity!" I said with my voice raised a bit higher than usual

Serenity just stared at me for a few seconds and then her just turn over in bed.

"Serenity, I can handle Meadow and we both agreed what she did was honorable. You're getting worked up about people that don't know me or you." I tried to console

"I don't want to talk anymore." Serenity said lowly

"Come on, baby, talk to me." I plead resulting in her not answering just sniffling lowly to herself

I then got out of bed and walked around it over to her side of the bed and kneeled beside her seeing she had watery eyes.

"I'm sorry for raising my voice. Please talk to me." I began to beg moving her hair from her face before she said lowly, "I just need some time please."

"Serenity, I'm not upset with you."

Seeing I wasn't going to let this conversation up she then lifted herself from the bed and I wrapped my arms around her waist laying my head against her stomach.

"Paul, I just really don't feel like talking and deep down you are upset or disappointed in me." She said lowly

"Baby, I'm not upset or disappointed in you I promise. But just because I raise my voice a little that doesn't mean I am mad at you or a threat to you. This wall you have up has gradually came down but for it to completely crash down I need you to realize I'm not him." I said holding her close rubbing circles onto her lower back with my fingertips

She then rested her palm through my hair and said "I know you aren't and I know you do love me but it doesn't stop this reoccurring fear I have. I mean when I was living by myself sometimes I couldn't even sleep at night because I was so afraid of Aiden and that fear made me feel paralyzed and helpless for years."

"I need you to talk to me about him so I can help you help us. Because God knows I don't want him to make you feel like we're going to be the same." I replied looking up at her

"He did everything he could to make me feel less than him and to hurt me physically, mentally, verbally and emotionally." She answered

"How'd you get this?" I asked softly touching the side of her upper thigh where a dark mark rested

"Aiden came home drunk one night and I had just had Sarai so I was taking care of her and he got upset with me because I didn't greet him at the door...so he...he raped me and held me down so tightly that it caused permanent bruising." She said beginning to cry and cover her face

I took a hard swallow and rose up from between her legs and sat next to her pulling her into my arms feeling my eyes start to water up.

Serenity is the strongest woman I have ever met. She had been through so much and she's still going.

"Baby. I'm here always now. I promise." I said making her take a deep breath, "I know you probably think I'm weak but I can't help this pain." She replied moving her hands from her face slowly

I began to wipe her eyes carefully with the pads of my thumbs, "No, I think you are strong. Pain is the art of strength and you're incredibly strong and brave, braver than me that's for sure. I think nothing but the best of you and want nothing other than for you to be happy. Especially, if I'm one of the main people who have the pleasure to make you. I think your ex is the depressing one and for all that he's done to you he's going to live a depressing life." I said looking her in the eyes

"You're must going to hold me like this all the time when I'm going through one of these spells." She sniffled

"I'm going to hold you regardless whether you're sick, crying or hurting because you deserve that...But speaking of spells, I think you have me under one." I teased making her look away with a small smile trying to creep onto her face

"Is that so?" She asked making me bite my lip

"Yeah, I've never felt this way about any woman not only am I feeling saner with you around, I'm learning from you everyday."

She began to smile lowly making me slowly lean in before I rested my hand on her cheek kissing her softly while leaning back against our bed.

Pulling back slowly she kissed me one more time before she said "Baby, I thought you were going to meet with a director soon."

I then looked over at the time and sighed, "Yeah, I am but I'll be back in a hour and a half. I promise...then maybe we can work on giving Meadow and Sarai a sibling."

Serenity did nothing but laugh at my statement before rolling her eyes playfully, "No babies until...no babies." She said trying to retract her statement.

But I knew the direction she was heading in.

"No babies until I marry you? Don't worry it's coming soon." I promised making her eyes soften at my statement

I looked carefully at the diamond ring that I had been personalizing the past two weeks when I told Serenity I was meeting with "directors".

"So how do you like it Paul?" The jeweler, Manny, asked

"I love it and she will too." I said holding the ring in my hand

"Finally settling down, huh? I thought she was just one of your prospects." He asked with a smile

"Yeah, man, I'm in love with her." I replied making him nod pleased by my words

"She's beautiful too and your fans already love her. You've been trending every since that picture you posted on Instagram." Manny ranted making me laugh

"Yeah, well everything's looking great right now. I just want the timing to be right, you know?"

"If you love her and you know she loves you back run with it. Timing doesn't overrule love." Manny then said making me smile to myself

I'm ready to get married.
