"It's a girl," the midwife yelled in excitement.

The baby girl's father looked at her with a proud smile, finally, "Orion, to my office."

Orion, the head of the House of Black smiled which soon curved into a smirk, "I'll fetch the house elves to grab the betrothal papers!"

"What will you name her," Walburga, the wife of Orion Black asked as soon as her husband had left the room.

"Sylvie, Sylvie Lydia Malfoy," Lydia, the wife of Abraxas Malfoy informed.

    "My soon-to-be daughter," Walburga squealed.

Lydia's eyes gleamed with something unknown to herself, "Sylvie Regulus Black does have a good ring to it."

     Walburga nodded in agreement.

     "REGGIE," five-year-old Sylvie screamed.

     "Yes," Regulus asked innocently.

"When I get a wand, I will hex you till you can't walk anymore," Sylvie threatened, words she had learned from her brother and father.

"Not if I do it first," he said rolling his eyes at her.

"LUCY!!! REGULUS IS HURTING ME," Sylvie yelled out.

In less than a second, 9-year-old Lucius Malfoy was by his sister's side, "What do we have here?"

     "Her," Regulus pointed.

     "Him," Sylvie said offended.

"We don't have time for you two to bicker, we have to head to the ballroom at once," Lucius said turning on his heel and leading the way.

Sylvie and Regulus looked at each other both making a humph sound crossing their arms and rolling their eyes.

Such an attitude was not excepted.

"Regulus," Orion said beckoning his son over.

     "Father," Regulus greeted.

"Sirius go ahead, give your brother what we gave you," Walburga urged with an evil smile.

"Here," Sirius said to his only brother mustering up a smile.

Regulus looked at what was in his hand in awe, "It's for me?"

"No honey," Walburga said rolling her eyes.

"Go give it to Sylvie," Orion ordered in a low voice.

Sirius watched his brother in jealousy, not because of his soon-to-be wife but how much his parents loved him. He has always been one to speak out, resulting in beatings he never wished for.

"Father told me to give his to you," Regulus said handing me a ring with the Black family crest on it.

"Regulus, you have to put the ring on her index finger," Abraxas said from behind Sylvie.

"Oh," Regulus blushed as he gently picked up the ring from Sylvie's open palm as he flipped over her hand, and slid the ring over her index finger on her right hand.

"What does it do," Sylvie asked brushing her finger across it.

"It means that you are one of us," Orion said.

"You must not ever take it off," Abraxas said jumping in.

     "I won't," Sylvie promised.

"Syl, why don't you play with me anymore," Regulus asked.

"A young woman shall be graceful," Sylvie responded with a small forceful smile, one she had been taught to embrace.

"You are most definitely not," Regulus said rolling his eyes.

"I'm sorry to hear that," Sylvie said unbothered.

Regulus looked at her surprised, "Where's your anger, fight back with me Syl!"

"Anger is a vice, a young woman must follow her virtues, patience," Sylvie said monotone, not giving off any emotion.

"When you want to be yourself, I'll be here," Regulus said turning around and walking away from the one person he cared for the most.

"This will only take another hour," the artist spoke into the awkward silence.

It had been a year since Regulus and Sylvie had stopped talking. Regulus focusing on all his duties, the ones that were once of Sirius. He had been sorted into Gryffindor. Regulus was the only pride and joy, not like Sirius ever was with his comments.

"Walk closer Mr, Black," the artist commanded.

Regulus obliged now standing right behind the chair Sylvie had sat on.

"Place the necklace around her neck," the photographer yelled from behind the artist.

Regulus reached into his picked and pulled out a necklace with the Black family crest, matching perfectly to the ring he had given to her when they were young.

Sylvie moved her hair to one side of her neck with a flick of her hand.

Regulus leaned down and slowly dragged the cold metal against her neck till he reached the top and clasped it together with ease.

     "Fabulous," the photographer squealed.

Regulus leaned down even farther placing a lingering kiss on Sylvie's cheek before pulling back up.

"This is definitely the best shot," the photographer said nodding at her camera.

"Vee, what's wrong," Lucius asked his sister as he gently knocked on the bathroom door.

"Go away Lucy," Sylvie muttered from the other side.

"Alohomora," Lucius whispered the simple unlocking charm.

When he walked in, he saw his dear sister curled up in one corner of the bathroom. Her platinum blond hair was a mess as tears adorned her face.

"Go away," she desperately whispered again.

Lucius's eyes widened in panic as he rushed over and gave her a bone-crashing hug, "Via, Via what's wrong!"

Sylvie hid her face in her brother's chest, "I've been sold."

"What do you mean sold," he asked freaking out.

"Mother and Father sold me to the House of Black, Lucy," she admitted.

Rage filled his eyes, this was his baby sister, "THEY BETTER HAVE A GOOD FUCKING REASON FOR THIS!"

He tried to get up as Sylvie used all her strength to pull him back by his hand, "Lucy, please don't. It'll make it worse."

Lucius turned around, "Via...what are you implying?"

Sylvie looked away, "They abuse me every time I speak out. They remind me of my virtues. They remind me that the only way I will ever be happy is to marry into the House of Black. The only fucking way I will ever be happy is if I marry Regulus Fucking Black!"

Lucius ran back over to his sister and pulled her face into his chest, "Fuck, fuck, fuck. Via, stop crying. I'm going to fix this. How dare they abuse you and make you go through this?"

     "You can't," Sylvie mumbled sobbing.

"Why can't I," Lucius asked, his rage at its peak.

"It was a betrothal contract signed right when I was born, meaning that," Sylvie started explaining.

Lucius cut her off finishing her sentence, "Meaning that it's punishable by death!"

     Sylvie nodded.
