"Y'all are gettin' distracted here. We got to keep focus on Bayley." Taystee exclaimed. They were currently going through boxes of clothing in the contraband room. It was certainly an awkward environment between Janae and Aaliyah. Aaliyah was desperate to talk about it as Janae just pretended like everything was normal. She didn't even know how Janae found out. And she had no clue what she was going to say to explain herself.
"I wanna see the fetus-faced fuck go down bad as anyone. But we ain't got much time before they start bringing in the tanks. Might as well take advantage." Cindy defends. Aaliyah pulled on a green v-neck and a red jacket as Janae pulled on some other zip up jacket. "What you mean "ain't got much time"? We got hostages." Taystee responds. Her mind was clearly too focused on Bayley to worry about other potential concerns because of this riot situation.
"Yeah, but it's still a clock on all of this if we're gonna be real about it." Janae adds. Aaliyah sat down against wall, pulling out the phone to check in on Alec and Teyana. Cindy attempted to try on a jacket, Alison making a comment, "I don't think that's how it's supposed to fit." She and Cindy going back and forth, Liyah not caring to pay attention. "Yes! Bruce Lee!" Liyah looked up, seeing Cindy hold up some jacket with what looked like a some kind of design on it.
"Come on, T. Get it while it's good," Janae urged. Taystee's eyes glance over at the shoes next to Aaliyah. "Classic Air Max?" She gasps, picking them up. "Oh, shit. Please, please, please be my size. Please be my size." Taystee giggled excitedly when they fit her perfectly. "Yo, this is like Christmas!" Cindy cheers, all of them laughing.
"Cinde-fuckin'-rella!" Taystee sung, standing up to test out the shoes. She picks up the jacket Cindy previously had, "Oh, man. I'll save this for Suzanne, for when she feelin' better." They all nod I'm agreement, thinking Suzanne would love it.
Aaliyah furrows her brows, hearing a voice. "Attention, inmates of Litchfield." It was Piscatella, on a mega phone or something. Aaliyah stood up, "In an effort to resolve this quickly, and without violence, we are ready to hear your demands. To repeat, inmates of Litchfield, we are ready to hear your demands. We are ready to hear your demands." Aaliyah walked out, calling up her dad.
"Aaliyah, I just showed up, they got everyone waitin' outside." Jeremiah spoke, leaning against the door of his car as he watched the police and CO's talk. "Is he being legit? They're actually gonna listen to our demands?" Aaliyah questions, glancing at the girls who came out of the room to see what's up. "It seems so. I don't know 'bout this Piscatella man though. He wanted to storm in. The only reason he didn't is because MCC stopped him. They don't wanna do anything rash with Judy King still inside."
"So basically, Piscatella's still being his usual cocksucking prick self?" Aaliyah leaned against the wall, not pleased. Taystee motioned her to put it on speaker and she did as told. "Seems about right. And, your video is all over the media, your friend's story is being told, alright? You're gonna get your justice no matter what it takes, I promise you sweets. She won't die in vain." They all smiled, Taystee and Cindy doing a handshake.
"Thanks dad, for everything, truly." Aaliyah smiled, wiping her tears. "You're my daughter, I'd do anything for you. I love you." Aaliyah chuckles softly, "I love you too. I gotta go, bye dad." She quickly ends the call, sliding down the wall. She clasped her hands together, smiling to herself. "You good?" Taystee asked, offering Aaliyah her hand. "Yeah, I'm good." Aaliyah took it, Taystee pulled her up and immediately hugged her. "Thank you, Liyah."
"You don't need to thank me. Poussey is family." Aaliyah rubbed her back. None of them questioned why she didn't speak in past tense. Clearly she was having trouble accepting it.

They both sat against the wall, complete chaos happening around them. They didn't bother to say that any attention. Aaliyah didn't really know where to start. I mean, if you were in her position, what would you say? Because she certainly didn't know. How do you explain to your parter that you've known them the entire time? It was a complicated topic. The silence began to become suffocating, so she had no other choice but to break it. She exhales. "So, how did you find out?"
Janae finally turned her head to look at the girl, "That's seriously what you're gonna ask me?"
"What do you want me to say? Okay, I don't know what to say. I know sorry isn't enough." Aaliyah expressed, holding her head in her hands. "You're right, sorry isn't enough. Why? Why did you do that to me, Aaliyah? You knew..." Janae held back a cry, "You knew how much you meant to me, and you still kept it from me." Aaliyah sighed, rubbing her jaw, "I was going to when I first saw you. But you just ran past me like I didn't exist, and that hurt."
"So what? Is this revenge? Cause I didn't recognize you? Am I just apart of some little revenge plot?" Janae questioned, tears pooling in her eyes. She didn't want to believe it either. But it was the only logical explanation to her.
"No. It wasn't like that." Aaliyah shook her head. "Then what was it like, Aaliyah? Huh?" Janae blinked away tears, looking away. "It's...it's complicated. I was hurt..first you never talk to me again and then you completely forget about me, I wasn't thinking. I just wanted to get back at you." Janae scoffs, rolling her eyes. "You would think after what Taylor did to you..."
"I know. Okay, I know. It was selfish, and cruel and I never meant for it to go on that long." Even if it was true, it was still a horrible thing to do to a person. "You had so many chances to tell me. So fucking many. Did you even think about how I would feel, or do you just think about yourself? Cause it looks like your feelings are clearly the only ones that matter." Janae said, turning to face the tear stricken girl.
"That's not true, and you know it. I have only ever cared about you the entire time I've been here," Aaliyah argues, wiping her face.
Janae scoffs. "Well you sure have a funny way of showing it."
"Bloody hell, I'm sorry, okay? For everything. I am sorry. I never meant to hurt you. You're the last person I would ever want to hurt. I-I..." Aaliyah bit her lip, biting back a sob. Fuck, why was this so hard? Why couldn't she just fucking say it? It was three words. She had no issue saying it when Janae was asleep. So what was holding her back so much?
Janae just looked at her in betrayal. "Fuck, you can't even say it. Do you even love me, Aaliyah? Did you ever love me?"
"Of course I do." Aaliyah replied quickly.
"Then why don't you just say it? It's three words, Aaliyah. It is not that hard. You've had plenty of time to get over your stupid fucking problems." Janae scoffs, standing up. Was cruel to say? Definitely. Was it insensitive? 100%. But she didn't care. She just wanted to hurt Aaliyah. She wanted to hurt Liyah the same way she hurt her. And she did. Hearing Janae say that was hurtful. And it broke her. "You know what? I can't do this no more. We're done. I'm done." Janae ran a hand through her hair, shaking her head.
Aaliyah stood up quickly. "What do you mean "we're done"? Are you breaking up with me?" She scoffs in disbelief. Janae didn't bother to wipe the tears that fell. Aaliyah was in denial, "No, you can't break up with me. This is stupid. It's just a argument, it'll pass! We don't need to break up, Janae. You're being ridiculous. We can get through this. Please don't do this to me. Don't leave me." Aaliyah grabbed Janae's hands, pleading with her. They were both crying, Aaliyah more than Janae.
"I'm sorry. But I can't be with someone who can hurt me like that and not even tell me if they love me." Janae pulled her hands out of Aaliyah's grasp, walking out of the girl's cube.
"Fuck." Aaliyah's voice cracked as sat down on the other bed, pulling her knees to her chest. She cried. She just sat there and cried.

Aaliyah walked into the Spanish Harlem, seeing it was a bit calmer in there. She seen Ouija sitting on a chair playing a game on a phone as Pidge paid more attention to the hostages. "Ouija." She looked up, raising a brow at Aaliyah. "What's up mamas? Thought you'd be with your girls." She said, glancing back down a her phone. "They'll be fine without me. You mind if I take a nap in your bed? It's too loud in my dorm." Aaliyah asked.
Ouija thought about it for a second, sensing something was up. "Go ahead mama. It's just right there." Ouija pointed to her cube. Aaliyah smiles gratefully, walking over to the bunk and laying down on the bed. She tried to sleep but her mind was racing with what just happened between her and Janae. It was a lot to process. Aaliyah sat up with a sigh, pulling out the letter she said she wasn't going to read. But fuck it, right? As if her day could get any worse.
Dear, Aaliyah
I wished we could've ended in a better place. But I just can't take it anymore. All the pain, emotionally and physically. I can feel myself slowly leaving. You know I always hated having no control over my body.
I'm writing this to you for myself. I know you won't believe me if I said it was for you. I regret everything. I regret what I did to you, and to your brother and father. And I'll forever have to live and die knowing I made those choices. I am sorry for love I was incapable of giving you. You deserve a better mother, and someday I hope you find one. I was never able to live up to those expectations. I was a horrible mother to you and Alec. I can only hope you forgive me someday.
After my visit, I realized something. That my love would never be enough for you. I ruined your life, and I accept that truth. But, I cannot continue this life knowing that my daughter went down the devil's path. I am sorry that I failed you, Aaliyah. Just know, I love you so much, even with your flaws. I'm sorry it had to be this way, truly.
Love, your mother
Aaliyah scoffed. Even in death she had to be bitch. She couldn't even accept that her daughter was gay. "Old fucking cunt." Aaliyah ran a hand through her hair, crying even more but they were more so angry tears. "You okay?" Aaliyah looked up, seeing Ouija standing there with a look of concern. Aaliyah shook her head softly, exhaling as she tucked the letter in her pocket, or well, Janae's pocket considering it was her sweater.
Ouija sat down next to her, leaning against the wall. "What happened?" Aaliyah huffed. "I fucked up. Big time." She nods to herself, another tear falling. "She broke up with me." Ouija looked at the girl, her lips in a firm line. "You want me to kill her for you? Cause I'll do it. Then I can get another one of these tears." Aaliyah chuckles softly, shaking her head. "Nah, that's not necessary. I could never hurt her, physically at least. Pretty sure I already marked off emotionally. Fuck, I can't even blame her. I did this to myself."
Ouija put an arm around her, rubbing her arm as Aaliyah laid her head on her shoulder. "We all make mistakes. I'm sure y'all will figure it out. Just, give her some time, okay?" Aaliyah nodded slowly, turning to look at the shorter girl. "Thank you. Seriously, you're a good friend." Ouija smiled softly, their faces just an inch apart from touching. "I know, you're lucky to have me." She states cockily.
Aaliyah chuckles, nodding softly. "I can agree-" a pair of lips pressed against hers, cutting off whatever she was saying. Aaliyah pulled away, looking at Ouija in shock and confusion. "Uh, I can't- I-" Ouija cuts her off, "Y'all are broken up, right?" Aaliyah nods, "Yeah, but-" she cut herself off, extremely confused. It's not like she thought of Ouija in any other way than just a friend. And from what she knew, Ouija wasn't gay.
"Don't feel bad. I'm not like offended or nothin'." Ouija says quickly, not wanting Aaliyah to feel guilty for not kissing her back. "I'm sorry. I just, I can't. It feels wrong and we're definitely way better as friends, ya know?" Aaliyah frowned, pulling her knees closer to her chest. "I get it. Tell you what." Aaliyah turns to her, "I'll help you get her back." Aaliyah smiles, shaking her head, "you don't have to do that."
"What kind of friend would I be if I just let you lose the love of your life? We ain't gettin' any younger and we in prison. It's either get her back, or force yourself to get used to the fact that she's gonna be around you until you get out of here. And I'm assuming that's a few more years." She did make a good point. That's why being a couple in prison wasn't always a good idea.
Aaliyah finally came to a conclusion. "Fine. What do I have to do?"
"Tell me everything."
