SINCE OPHELIA COULD REMEMBER, she had always been her parents second choice. her sister olivia had always been more important and more loved. ophelia knew why, everyone in the family did.

she was the offspring of her father's unfaithfulness. she never knew her real mother, and didn't dare ask about her. olivia's mother had always hated her guts, ophelia didn't blame her though, she would also hate the constant reminder of her husband's other woman.

when olivia's music career lifted off four years ago, ophelia quickly rose to fame too. just because she was olivia's sister of course, no one of the outside world knew what she was.

she was known as olivia rodrigo's quiet sister, and that's all she'd ever be, according to her parents. she didn't protest.

when she had finally moved out of her parents' house a year ago, she had gotten her own apartment. she was a lot happier now that she didn't have her parents breathing down her neck constantly, reminding her that she will never be as successful as her sister.

olivia was never mean to her, thankfully. they were friends when they were kids, being so close in age. as they grew older, olivia's career lifted off and ophelia was forgotten. her sister was not mean to her, but just sort of ignored her now.

she lived alone in a medium sized apartment in the south of france, well not really alone. she had her two cats, milo and poppy. milo was a brown and white ragdoll, poppy was a light grey bengal.

most of ophelia's income came from her social media platforms but she had a job in a bakery nearby just for fun.

there was one more thing about her, she was lonely. so fucking lonely. no friends, no boyfriends, no family (that she talked to). she was just constantly alone, and she hated it.

this was the first time ophelia had noticed this arthur guy. she scrolled through her instagram and now noticed how long this boy had been liking her posts. she clicked on his profile and stalked him, as one does.

she came to the conclusion that he was definitely not bad looking, and he seemed very nice. when she saw a picture of him with his brother, it clicked. charles leclerc's little brother. she knew his name looked familiar.

she felt bad for only knowing him because of his brother, because she knew the feeling. she decided to follow the youngest leclerc back, hoping that he would take the first step and text her.

she followed linnea evermoore as well, thinking that she was sweet. she had seen some things about her recently, as ophelia loosely followed formula one.

she put her phone down as milo started making biscuits on her lap, polly was pressed against her side, washing herself.

the two cats were her only real friends, it was as sad and pathetic as it sounded. she had only gotten them about three months ago, hoping it would help with the loneliness. it did help actually, she felt better with her cats around.

well, the old woman who owned the bakery she worked at was also her friend. but ophelia only saw her there times a week, as she only helped during the weekend.

suddenly, her phone buzzed a few times. she picked it back up to see that linnea evermoore had sent her a dm.
