backstory; rhysand was one of the first angels created after the archangels . she grew up with them , only a bit younger . she was one of the few angels that had genuinely been close to lucifer before he was cast out of heaven . when he started his rebellion , refusing to bow down to humanity , he tried to get her to join him . she refused , saying she wouldn ' t stand beside him and help him get himself killed . she tried to talk him out of it . tried to explain to him that it wouldn ' t end well , that it would end with him dead or worse . he didn ' t listen . after he was cast out , she became closed off . she remained that way for several hundred years . she became a bit reckless as well . castiel was the one that brought her out of it . she became extremely close to him . many of the other angels did not trust her . they believed she had been allied with lucifer , had been helping him . they didn ' t understand why god hadn ' t cast her out either . and they made sure to make their dislike of rhysand obvious . they treated her horribly , even tried to cut her wings off once . she was similar to castiel before meeting the winchesters . seemingly no emotions , and nearly no understanding of humans and their habits . she was a bit more apathetic than castiel was at first . she didn ' t possess the same faith in god that castiel had . she was older when he left , old enough to remember him . she is one of the few to have actually met god . and , to put it shortly , she hates him for leaving and for what he did to lucifer . it causes quite a few fights between her and castiel . she was one of the angels to be sent with castiel while watching over the winchester brothers . she would be sent with castiel , or alone occasionally . whenever castiel couldn ' t show up , she would . as time went on , she grew close to the winchesters . she fell a lot more quickly than castiel did , mostly because of dean .

when/how you started dating, if applicable; it was after a fight she got into with castiel . she had been getting close to dean before it , and some of the other angels had noticed . castiel had tried to convince her to keep her distance for awhile , which lead to a fight . the two angels occasionally fought , but this was worse . so , she went to dean , not sure what else to do . the two spent the night together in his room , just talking . and for the first time in forever , she just felt . . . completely at peace with him . ever since , the two became nearly inseparable .
headcanons for your relationship;
the two are almost always touching . whether that be just holding hands , cuddling on the couch , his arm around her , it doesn ' t matter .
and , obviously by the above , both are big with pda . doesn ' t matter where they are .
even if they ' re fighting , they ' re still always touching . it gets very confusing for sam and the others . they could be absolutely furious with each other , but their hands will still be clasped together on the table . if either completely refuses to touch the other , then something is seriously wrong .
it takes both of them so long to say i love you , or even really admit they were together . sam would find them literally tangled together on the couch watching movies and say " you two are so cute together . " eliciting twin glares from the two and " we aren ' t together " and such .
the finally admit they ' re ' together ' after being at a diner one day . it was sam , cas , dean , and rhysand . and the waitress kept flirting with dean , which was really pissing her off . finally she snapped and told the girl ' i ' d really appreciate if you didn ' t flirt with my boyfriend right in front of me . ' dean doesn ' t really react , neither does cas . but sam teases them about ' thought you weren ' t " together " ' . ' you had to see it coming , sammy . don ' t act so surprised . '
the first i love you comes from dean . he nearly died on a hunt . and realized , he would have died without ever telling her he loved her . the moment they got back and were alone , he told her .
it took her a bit longer to say it . she was an angel , she still didn ' t fully understand love . and she told dean that . when she finally said it , it was the middle of the night . she thought he was asleep , but he wasn ' t . he heard her .
