"No, seriously, who invited them?!"
Keziyah looked behind her, and a snicker escaped her lips upon realizing who her sister was talking about. "I invited them. She's my friend, and a huge F1 fan." She shrugged. Kallie groaned in annoyance, grabbing the champagne glass and gulping it down like water. "She's going to expect me to talk to them," the driver said, rubbing the back of her neck as she tried not to look at her "ex" who was speaking to her close friends, Jhenรฉ and Ariana.
"No, she won't. She knows you're working right now. But if you keep looking awkward, then she's going to come up to you." Kez said, taking a small sip of her champagne.
"I actually hate you." Kallie huffed, walking away from the table.
"What does this mean?" Kez glanced to her left, looking down at Michael's phone, reading the texts between him and their oldest child, Kamari. "She called you a jerk," the singer snickers in amusement. Michael rolls his eyes, responding with an emoji before turning the phone off. "That girl should be using her smartness to pass them classes, not call me mean words in other languages," he said.
"Maybe it's because you treat her like she's dumb, when you know she isn't. She's in a special school for a reason. She's a special kid. You gotta accept that she just wants to play sports." Kez says knowingly. She had been all for it when Mari joined the basketball and football teams. But Mike was a bit on edge. He felt she should be using her smarts to get into a good college. He didn't want her to just depend on scholarships. Which was understandable to an extent because no college team was gonna take a twelve year old who was extremely smart and hit puberty early. But Mari was only eight, she had a few more years to think about college.
"You can play sports and get a PhD. You did it." He pointed out. Kez shook her head in objection to his words, "no, no, I didn't play sports. I just got my PhD. She's not us, Mike. She doesn't wanna be an actor, or singer, or driver. She wants to play basketball and she wants to play football. Just happy she knows what she wants. Support her, or you'll ruin your relationship, and you don't want that. If you lose her, you lose me, too." She turned on her heel and walked off, leaving him to think.
She walked over to the table her family was at and intertwined her hand with her husband's. Will smiled down at her as they listened to Kallie rant to her parents. "You can't just let her invite people I've been involved with. They could have like a personal vendetta against me," she complained in Korean. "Have you ever thought about why they might have a personal vendetta against you?" Kaikara deadpanned, and Kez snorts, causing Sang to nudge her, even if he was smirking.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Kallie frowned, feigning offense.
"You haven't had a date in over a decade," Jae-hyun points out, making quite a good point, but she didn't see it that way.
"I don't like dating. Who wants to put up with awkward conversation and bad company?" She scoffed, storming off as they chuckled at her. "She needs to get laid," Kez muttered, causing Kaikara to lean over and smack her arm. "Eina! Mama! It wasn't like I was lying!" She scowled. "Give her a break. She's trying. It's hard to date as a single parent, you know that," Kaikara said, feeling sympathy for her troubled daughter.
"Yes, except she wouldn't know that because she doesn't try. I've tried to set her up with so many of my friends and she completely blows it off with some stupid excuse. You need to talk to her. She listens to you," Keziyah said. Kaikara sighs, running a hand through her long braids, "I don't know. That child is complicated. She doesn't listen to anyone. I told you, that girl broke her heart. She hasn't been the same since."
"Ja, the urge to murder Kimura pops up at least once a day," Kez mutters in disdain.
"No murdering anyone," Sang scolds, nudging the singer.
"Kez, come with me, it's almost time," Jae-hyun held out his hand and she let go of Will's to grab it. "Time to work," she mumbles, following him through the crowd of people.
It was the Jaguar Livery Reveal, and obviously there was tons of people there, excited to see Jaguar's returning chassis to Formula 1. Kallie was happy to be there, but she was most excited for the after party, for obvious reasons. After she did all the media and talks with fancy business people, she finally headed to the party, and on the way there, she changed into a more suitable outfit.
"I need to get drunk," she was the first thing she said as she pushed through the crowd to find the bar. Jhenรฉ followed her, holding onto her best friend's hand as the squeezed through the people. They finally got there and got some drinks, then pushed their way upstairs to the second floor. She found the booth that her sister had reserved for them specifically and took a seat, setting her purse next to her. "When's the last time you got drunk?" Jhenรฉ asked, watching as Kallie poured herself some more tequila as Kez bought her a bottle.
"Last week. I accidentally dropped Miyah and had a break down so when she went to sleep, I pulled out a bottle of vodka," Kallie answered, getting a side-eye from Keziyah. "Is that why you called me, asking the ingredients to make tequila?" Ariana asked with a laugh, pushing her blonde hair from her face. "Yes, I hate vodka," Kallie replies, her scrunched in disgust. Merida takes a seat next to Ariana, holding up a bottle of cold vodka, "well, I love it!"
"Why didn't you tell me you had dinner with Lewis?" They looked up to see Kaylen, the driver sliding into the booth, sitting next to Kallie.
"Hamilton?" Keziyah questioned, leaning forward with curious eyes. "Ja. George told me all about it. How he asked for your number so you could grab dinner together," Kaylen said, looking to his older sister with a pointed look. "Dinner? You went on a date?" Merida asked in shock. Kallie rolled her eyes, of course they'd make a big deal out of nothing. "It wasn't a date. I had Miyah with me. We were just catching up."
"So, he knows you got a baby and he still interested?" Keziyah questioned, her lips curling into a smile.
"Don't give your hopes up. I'm not interested." Kalliope scowled, moving out of the booth and walking over to the railing. She eyes the crowd of people as she sips on her alcohol. She furrowed her brows, her eyes landing on a familiar head with braids. "You've got to be kidding me. I'm gonna kill her." Her jaw clenched as she quickly walked back over to the booth, looking directly at Keziyah who had been talking with Ariana. "Did you seriously invite him? Do you hate me?"
"Invite who? I didn't invite-" Kez paused, her eyes widening slightly when she noticed Lewis walking up the stairs. "Oh shit. Sis, that was not me, I promise. I don't even have his number. Swear, it wasn't me." She said, quickly finding herself laughing because she knew who invited him. "Who invited him then?" She questioned impatiently. "I did." She froze, turning around to see her father, Lewis and Kaikara right behind him. "Why do you hate me?" She hit his arm and pushed past him, taking the bottle of tequila with her.
"What's wrong with her?" Kaikara asked, glancing at her second child with confusion.
Jae-hyun pulled her to sit down at the booth and Kaylen moved over to make some room for a very confused Lewis. "She thinks we're plotting against her. Which, of course, we kinda are. But I had no idea you were inviting him, so she's really gonna hate me when she finds out who I invited," Keziyah expressed, taking another gulp of her drink, trying and failing to suppress her laugh.
"Who'd you invite?" Lewis questions, looking at the singer with suspicion.
Before she could answer, said invitation showed up, "y'all got room for another?" Lewis looked up at the familiar face, a woman he was actually friends with, ironically. "Yeah, come on baby," Kez welcomed, and they all moved to make some room for them. "Nice to see you again," Lewis shook their hand kindly. "Good to see you, too. It's been a while, hasn't it?" He nods with a small chuckle, and she smiled.
"We were just talking about you. How'd you like the car?" Kez asked, everyone still trying to connect the dots.
"It was so good. I love the design. Kallie's number looks perfect on it," she answered. She looked around slightly, "uh, speaking of Kallie, where is she?" Kaylen was very quick to snitch, as he pointed to the smaller booth at the other side of the club where Kallie was talking with some people who were at the car reveal. "She's right there. You should go save her. She looks bored." Jhenรฉ hit his arm with a scolding glare.
"I think I'mma need some drinks first. For confidence," she chuckled, grabbing a cold glass and pouring some tequila in it.
"Jhenรฉ, Ari, can you help me go fishing?" Merida asked, standing up and moving out of the booth. "What's fishing?" Kaylen asked, furrowing his brows in confusion. Lewis chuckles at the memory, and Kez smirked, taking a sip of her drink. Kaikara raised a brow, looking towards her daughter, "you still do that?" Keziyah nods, chuckling softly, "we never stopped."
Lewis shrugs, "it worked on me."
"It worked on me, too," Jae-hyun mutters, taking a sip of his own drink, causing his wife to smirk.
"I wanna go DJ." Keziyah stood up, sliding out of the booth, she extended her hand to her husband. "Come on, I need you intimidate him if he says no." Will laughs and gets out of the booth, taking her hand and following her down to the first floor. "Let's dance, my love," Kaikara smiled, dragging her husband out of the booth much to his dismay because he wasn't a party person. That was more Sang's thing. But if his wife wanted to dance, best believe he was gonna dance.
As the three remaining chatted, Keziyah had taken over for the DJ so he could take a break. Kallie started making her way back to the booth and on her way, Kez played the song Toxic, "shout out to my good friend, Kehlani." Kallie froze, looking down at her sister with wide eyes, the woman meeting her eyes and winking. "I'm gonna kill you," she mouthed to her older sister, Kez just smirked, looking back down at the board.
Kehlani took another drink and gulped it down for confidence. "A'ight, I've waited long enough." Kaylen and Lewis both watched as the singer stood up, tugging their dress down before making their way over to Kalliope. "What's that all about? Does she still like her or something? I knew they were involved before but I didn't think it was that serious," Lewis asked, well aware that Kaylen knew everything. He was always listening to everyone's problems, and he was closest with Kallie.
"It's so complicated. Lani wanted a serious relationship, and Kallie didn't. But like, they were down bad for each other. Kallie told me after an argument, she went off to this club, and then she got pregnant. When she told Kehlani, that was the last time they spoke, at least in person. They still wish each other well on social media. Kez told me Lani was in love with Kallie, but we're still not sure if Kallie felt the same." Kaylen rambled as if it was his own relationship, but really, he found Kallie's relationships far more interesting than his.
"Has she really never dated anyone since 2013?" Lewis asked, finding that extremely hard to believe.
"Oh yeah, she hasn't dated anyone since Kimura, her first and only serious relationship. Why? Are you interested? Cause no offense, but you got no shot. She doesn't fuck with other drivers like that." Kaylen said, and Lewis gave him an offended look. "I'mma take that as a challenge," he said, both of them subtlety watching Kallie and Kehlani's interaction. It looked to be going good, but Lewis could tell Kallie was flirting. She had that concentrated but seductive look on her face when she did.
"Oh, you are on another level of delusional. You think you can get my non-dating sister to settle?" Kaylen scoffed in disbelief, shaking his head. "I know I can. She likes me. That's why she's flirting extra hard right now. She's trying to make me jealous and show that she has zero interest in me, but I know her too well." Lewis says, his tone filled with certainty and determination. "When she breaks your heart, don't come crying to me, mate," Kaylen pats his shoulder before getting out of the booth and making his way downstairs to dance.
"You wanna get outta here? My place is nearby, we can talk more there," Kallie asked, really trying to do anything to avoid speaking to Lewis. She could feel his daring eyes on her and it took everything to not walk over to him. "Do you mean that genuinely? Or is this just another way to get me in your bed?" Kehlani deadpanned, but she wasn't saying no. Kallie smirked, her eyes twinkling against the multicolored lights as she tilt her head, "can it be both?"
"Fine, but this is the last time," Kehlani stated, really wishing for them to move on and be friends again. She enjoyed when they were friends before they were involved romantically. "Last time. I promise. Then we can arrange play dates for our babies like mums who have never seen each other naked," Kallie said, and the singer cracked a chuckle, nodding in agreement.
Kehlani took her hand and they walked downstairs, the driver taking a glance at Lewis, the man just giving her a knowing look. She smirked, mouthing, "keep dreaming," to him.
"Always," he mouthed back.

"When's the last time you got a really good lay?" Jhenรฉ questions.
Kallie coughed harshly at the question that distracted her. She quickly passed the bong back to Keziyah, trying to regain her breath. "She's onto something, but I can't relate," Kez comments. Merida chuckled, taking the bong from her. "I haven't had a good lay in a while, I can't lie," Kallie answered, as the model passed the bong over to Kehlani.
"I thought you guys did it," Merida says, pointing in between the two mothers.
"Didn't want it to be awkward so we chickened out," Kehlani shrugged, passing the bong to Kallie as Ariana had passed on it, already zoned out as she rested her head on the driver's lap. "That's good. Friendship is important," Merida says, always valuing her words. "Fine, who's the best lay you've ever had? If you don't answer you have to shot." Jhenรฉ asked, sipping on her cherry flavored Icee that was spiked with vodka.
"That's difficult," Merida mumbled, the rest of them trying to think of an answer.
"Fuck, I'll say it. The Weeknd, and I won't answer for the woman's side because she's not out yet." Keziyah shrugged, taking the bong back as they all shared looks of shock. "Wha- when?" Jhenรฉ laughs softly. "Who said it was once?" The woman exhaled, smoke flowing from her mouth. "I see the vision," Ariana stated, the driver patting her cheek with a smile. "I can't answer that, so I'mma just drink this shit." Kehlani mumbled, grabbing a shot and downing it as Kallie feigned offense, "it's not me?"
"You don't wanna know who it is," Kehlani chuckled awkwardly, averting their eyes to the floor.
"No, no, I do. Tell me. We're friends now. I won't get jealous." Kallie sat up better, careful with Ariana who still rested on her lap. Merida and Jhenรฉ both shared a very knowing look and Kez just stared forward, drinking her wine like it was grape juice. "They're kinda...in this room," Kehlani mumbled, shrugging her shoulder. Kallie furrowed her brows, looking between Merida and Keziyah as the other two didn't swing that way. "Merida? Are you serious? The fuck happened to girl code?"
Merida cleared her throat, taking a sip of her wine, "it wasn't me, honey."
All eyes fell on Keziyah, the woman pursing her lips awkwardly, "girl code doesn't apply to sister's." Kallie gaped at her, blinking herself out of shock. She grabbed the bong and inhaled, smoke filling her lungs, she pulled away and exhaled. "I can't even find it in myself to be mad. I fucked your ex boyfriend," she shrugs, and Kez laughs, throwing her head in amusement. "Really? Which one was it?"
"I forgot his name, but he was the footballer," Kallie answered, taking a sip of her blueberry flavored Icee.
"Oh, the cheater. Yeah, I don't care," Kez shrugged carelessly, grabbing her burger and taking a bite. "All I got from that, is Kez is a better lay than Kallie," Jhenรฉ mused. Kez smiled, looking quite proud of herself as Kallie seemed unfazed. "I just have more experience. And I studied to be a doctor at one point so I'm very familiar with the human anatomy. I know exactly what to do, and with ease." The actress explained, reaching for some chips. "That makes sense," Ariana mumbled.
Merida got up, grabbing her phone to put on her late night playlist. "You still gotta answer the question," Jhenรฉ said, leaning forward to grab the bong from her. "Uh, fuck. I can't do it. Pour me a shot," Kallie said, reaching for the tequila until her sister moved it away. "Nah, nah, tell us. There's no cameras around, and we told you. Who is it? Are they famous? Give me a hint."
"Yes, he's famous," Kallie replied, and Keziyah furrowed her brows, trying to think of someone.
Merida snapped her fingers, sitting back on the bed, "it's Lewis, isn't it? You told me all about that night. I remember, you couldn't even go into detail because there was enough to write a Harry Potter book."
Kallie hums, nodding slightly, her eyes dating off into flashbacks, she could still recount every mark they made on each other, every word they said, every single kiss he pressed to her skin. She thought about it at least once a day, and she was sure he did, too. "I can still write said book if I recounted each detail," she revealed, a small smirk residing on her lips.
"Deadass, I can't even remember the last time I had sex," Ariana confessed and they chuckled because it was definitely because of how high she was. "Oh, my gosh. Me too. I need to call Sean and tell him to cancel all his plans when I get home," Jhenรฉ says, reaching for some more chips that resided next to Kezie's plate.
"I can't think on the spot so I'll drink," Merida pours herself a shot and gulped it down.
The door was suddenly pushed open and they looked over, spotting Kamiyah sitting on the floor rubbing her eyes. "Oh, did we wake you babygirl?" Kallie smiled, getting up and running to pick up her child as Kez was quick to hide the bong, thankful they remembered to leave the windows open. She picked up the tired girl and moved to sit on the bed again, Ariana now laying her head in Keziyah's lap.
"I should get back to Will, anyways. So, I'll see you tomorrow at breakfast." Keziyah says, stretching her arms and grabbing her phone. "Can I catch a ride with you?" Kehlani asked, standing up and grabbing her stuff. "Sure thing. Mer, you want a ride back? Badru will drive us, cause I'm not in the right mind." Merida nods, standing up and pulling on her cardigan, "yeah, I'll ride with you. Thanks for the drinks and snacks, Kallie."
"Okay, have a good night. Drive safe," Kallie said, and Kami waved tiredly, her eyes drooping but she tried to stay awake, wanting to hang out with her mum.
"I'll take her to the guest room," Keziyah mumbled, walking over and scooping up the half-asleep Ariana in her arms.
Kallie switched on the TV, searching for a movie, her daughter pointing to the Cars 2 movie. She chuckled, clicking on the movie and pulling the covers over them. "I love you, but please just be a basketball player or something," Kallie mumbled. She really didn't want her daughter to be a driver, but if she ever did go down that road, she'd still support it. She just preferred her daughter to go down a different, less dangerous road. "Race car," Kami smiled, pointing at the big screen.
"Snack," Kami says, looking to her mum with pleading eyes.
Kallie huffed, turning off the TV, "fine, I'll make a snack and we'll continue in the living room." She picked her daughter up and set her on the couch, switching the movie back on. "Stay here. I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere." Kallie says before running into the kitchen. She grabbed some strawberries and melted some chocolate, dipping them each and setting them in a bowl. Returning to the living room, she set down the bowl, her daughter immediately grabbing onto one.
Before Kallie could sit down, the doorbell rang. "I'll get that. Don't eat them all." She rushed out, and ran over to the door, pulling it open without checking who it was so she practically jumped out of her bones when she seen Lewis. "Oh, it's you. Why?" Kallie furrowed her brows, crossing her arms over her chest. "You left your purse at the club. Kaylen gave me your address, I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I would've came yesterday but I didn't want to risk you panicking in the middle of the night."
"Oh, my God. I completely forgot. Thank you so much." Kallie sighed in relief, taking her Birkin from his hand.
"Doggy." They looked over to see Kamiyah walking over, chocolate smeared on her lips as she points to the bulldog at Lewis's feet. Roscoe wags his tail excitedly as the girl pets him gently. She was always the most gentle baby when it came to any kind of animals. "I see she has a favorite Hamilton now," Lewis mused, leaning down to get the girl's attention. "Umhlobo," Kami smiled, holding her hands up and placing them on each side of his face.
"What's this on your face? Were you eatin' chocolate?" Lewis chuckles, using his thumb to wipe her cheek as she giggled.
"Chocolate strawberries. Midnight snack," Kallie answered. Kami reached her arms out, gesturing for the man to pick her up. Lewis smiled, looking to Kallie for her permission and she nods, perfectly okay with it. He picked the girl up and she smiled, laying her head on shoulder. "Come inside, it's freezing out there," she singer, ushering them inside. She shut the door, and he kicked off his shoes as Kaylen had warned him about the strict no shoes rule in a Kumalo household.
"I hate that I'm asking this, but would you like to stay the night? It's just- it's late, freezing, and incredibly dark out there and you drive all the way here to return me stuff so it's very least I could do." Kallie rambled, setting her purse down on one of the nearby tables she had set up. "Are you sure? I really wouldn't want to impose on your night," he said with uncertainty, glancing around the beautiful home as Kami just played with his pearl necklace.
She shook her head, brushing that off, "no, no, it's fine. It's just us, and Ari, but she's passed out. You can sleep in Kaylen's room, I'm sure he wouldn't mind."
Lewis looked to Kami, the baby smiling at him, "should I stay over?" He asked in Xhosa so she could understand him better. She nods with an excited giggle, "yebo." He smiled, looking to the other driver, "the princess says yes, so I guess one night wouldn't hurt." She smiled softly, swallowing down any nervousness as she leaned down to Roscoe. She extended her hand to him, the bulldog sniffing it first, she chuckles and pets him gently.
"Milk," Kami says, reaching out to her mum.
"Okay, let's get you some milk." They headed towards the kitchen, and Kallie warmed up a bottle, normally she'd give her some cold, but she wanted her to fall asleep sooner as it was way past her bedtime. "I have dog food, because my sister has a dog. Is it okay if I give him some? Water, as well?" She asked as she waited for the bottle to be finished. "Yeah, of course. We use the same brands. Kez sent me an entire list on Instagram, so that's perfectly okay," he said, giving her a grateful look.
She smiled, bowing her head and going to fill the bowls for Roscoe. Kez would probably kill her if she didn't make sure he ate. Once the bottle was finished, she slid it over and Kamiyah took it, drinking the warm liquid with a concentrated look. After she stopped, the bottle halfway full, she looked to her mum, "race car."
Kallie smiled, dimming the kitchen lights, "we were watching Cars 2, that's what she means."
"That's one of my favorites," Lewis smiled brightly, the girl giggling at his excitement. "Would you like to watch it with us?" She asked. He nods, "yeah, I'd love to." She led them to the living room, the movie had paused as Kami had learned to click the button on the remote. She continued the movie and Kami cheered, clapping her hands as she sat next to Lewis. "Mama. Kude lee." She says, pointing out how far the woman was, practically on the other side of the couch.
"I'm fine where I am," Kallie replies.
Kami frowned, and tears started to fall before she was full on crying. "You better get over here," Lewis said. Kallie sighs, quickly moving closer and pressing a kiss to the girl's cheek, "see? I'm right here. No more cry. You gonna make mama sad." Kami smiled, now content with sitting next to them both. She grabbed a strawberry and held it up to Lewis, he chuckles, "for me? Why, thank you."
"Lewis!" Kami squealed, pointing to one of the cars on the screen.
"How'd you know?" Lewis furrowed his brows, smiling slightly and she put her finger on the gap between his two front teeth. "Teeth," she giggles. He chuckled, "smart girl." Kallie smiled at the sight, it warmed her heart how good he was with her daughter. Kami tugged on her mum's sports bra as she pointed to the purple car, "mum!" She chuckled softly, nodding slightly, "I guess she does kinda look like me."
"Doggy look sad," Kami points to Roscoe, the bulldog lounging on the floor.
Kallie got up and picked up the dog, placing him right next to Kami. She cheered, hugging onto him gently. Lewis subtly pulled out his phone and snapped a picture of the cute moment. "Can you send that to me?" She requests, and he nods with a small smile.
Halfway into the movie, Kamiyah completely crashed out. Kallie switched off the television and picked up the girl, careful not to wake her. "Your room is down the hall on the right, there's a whole computer set up in there so that's how you'll know it's Kaylen's," she spoke. He nods, "sounds good. Thanks again for letting us stay over. It's really kind of you."
"Of course. If you need anything, my room is just down the hall." Kallie cleared her throat, stepping out of the living room and walking up the stairs slowly, she went into her daughter's room and made sure to change her first before laying her down. She made sure the temperature was good and baby monitor was on before heading back downstairs to her room. She had switched rooms to give her daughter the bigger one because she got so much stuff from all of her "aunts & uncles."
She got into her room and shimmied out of her sweatpants so she was more comfortable. "Where did you put it, Kez?" She mumbled in frustration, searching for her favorite bong. After a while she finally found it and smiled triumphantly, settling herself on the bed. Her legs crossed under her, she switched on her TV and put on music videos, grabbing her glasses to see better. "Tell me baby, baby, what's your sign? Cause you're astronomically fine." She sang, moving along to the music.
Lewis rubbed his eyes tiredly, he could not get any sleep. Roscoe was snoring, and a hall down, music was practically blasted from Kallie's room. Not to mention, he should've asked for some comfortable clothes. So, reluctantly, he stood up and walked down the hall to the singer's room. His fist knocked it a few times, no answer, so he knocked again, no answer. Now he just pushed open the door, coughing slightly when smoke flowed out.
Kallie shrieked, quickly pulling the covers over her bottom half. "You scare me," she breathed out, reaching over to pause the music.
"Sorry, I knocked. Uh, I couldn't sleep, you've got the music pretty loud," he said, leaning against the doorframe. Kallie subtly looked him up and down before moving back up, noting his lack of shirt, only in a pair of blue jeans. "Right, sorry, that was my bad. I'll keep it down. Or, would you like to join me?" She proposed, far too high to remember her previous attempts to avoid him.
"Join you for what?" He questioned, tilting his head with interest.
"Well, personally, I'm just tryna vibe. It's all about the vibe, ya know? Gotta have good vibes." Kallie smiled, gesturing for him to come over. "Alright, I'm sold." He shrugged, shutting the door and walking over, settling himself on the bed next to her. She held out the bong and lighter to him, "do you smoke? You don't have to if you don't want. Mum said peer pressure is bad." He chuckles, taking the objects from her, "guess it can't hurt to do a little."
She grabbed the remote and switched on the music, her "Ass Like That" lyric video playing. "That's a good song," he comments, exhaling the smoke, coughing just a bit so she offered him some water.
"You remember when you said I could be a good singer?" She asked, taking the lighter and bong back from him. He nods, pushing a braid behind his ear as he had it up with two loose stands. "Yeah, and then you released a song a few months later. I remember, I listened to every song you dropped. You got really good over time. You finally found your sound and stuck with it. It's really good."
"You think so?" She smiled, exhaling the smoke and brushing her short hair behind her ear.
"Definitely," he nods in certainty, giving her a soft smile, taking the bong back from her. She took a sip of her juice and wiped her lips, "you know, I actually started releasing music because of what you said. I mean, my sister had been on me about it for a while, but what you said really encouraged me to actually go down that route. I never got to say thank you for that, so, thank you for your inspiration."
"You're welcome. But, I didn't do anything. I just gave you a compliment." He said, she shrugged, a smile curved into her lips, "it was a good compliment." He smiled, his eyes twinkling with nervousness, "you deserve every compliment, darling." She smiled, taking another hit and exhaling, passing it back to him. "What's your favorite album of mine?" He didn't even have to think about it because he had the answer, and he was very confident in said answer. "Easy. It's Electric. That really put you on top and signified your place in the music industry. There's no skip on that album. It has a beautiful and heartbreaking story."
"Thank you. That album is my prized possession." She sat up better, clearing her throat, "okay, I have a question for you, it's so legit."
He sat up, ready to answer whatever it was...unless it was about onions. "All right, shoot." She smirked, eyes sparkling mischievously, "was that really you on the Christina Aguilera track? And you can't lie to me. I've been nothing but truthful." She said, getting him to crack a smile. He groaned dramatically, rubbing his jaw, "okay, I'll admit it, for real. It's not me." She hit his shoulder with a laugh, "you liar!" He laughs, shrugging a shoulder, "all right, fine, it's me. I admit it."
"I like it, it's really good. You have a great voice." She spoke with a calming breath, brushing her shoulder against his.
"Your dad said you were working on an album, is that true?" He asked, and she shook her head, grabbing the lighter and taking another hit. "No, I already finished it last year. I have the whole thing ready to release this year. Oh, did you wanna see the music videos? They're so good. Kez directed all of them." She rambled, grabbing her laptop and bringing it onto the bed. "This one is Party Girls. We filmed it in Jamaica. It was so fun."
They watched the video, Kallie watching his face for his reaction, and obviously he loved it, especially the parts of her dancing alone. "That's extremely good. You're a really good dancer. Is that Keziyah's choreography?" He asked, receiving a nod from her. "Yeah, she came up with it for the video. There's another one. Kez said this was a hit, but I'm not sure." She chuckles, clicking the next unreleased music video. It was for her song "On My Mama."
He grinned, swaying along to it, "that's a really good song. Kez was not lying. That's gonna be a big song."
"You should see the pictures I got of Kami. She's so cute in her little matching outfit." Kallie grabbed her phone and pulled up the pictures, showing him all of the ones that were taken. "Oh, she's so cute. She was so small." He smiled, swiping through the pictures. "That's my little princess." Kallie grinned, turning off the phone and glancing at the baby monitor to make sure all was okay, and it was, but she did notice Roscoe suddenly sleeping next to the bed.
"Is that Roscoe?" She laughs lightly, showing him the monitor and he cackled, nodding in response. She giggles, setting the monitor back down, "that's so cute."
"There's one more video we did. It's one of my favorites from the album. It's called Smoke, and it's featuring Lucky Daye." She pulled up the video and he watched it, moving along to it. His favorite part was definitely the visuals of her inside the bong. "Was that hard to learn? Like, the pole dancing? I heard people get bruises from that," he said, coughing lightly as she takes it back. "Kez taught me like a decade ago, so it wasn't hard for me. But when I first started, I did get plenty of bruises. If you do it right, you won't get as many."
"Well, you looked incredibly beautiful in all of them, and you're voice was even more amazing. You're extremely talented." He said in all seriousness, a smile curling up her lips as she ducked her head in mild embarrassment. Then, she remembered who she was. She didn't blush for a man. Come on, do better....but, it was also Lewis...so could you really blame her?
She tossed the lighter onto the bedside table and set the bong next to the bed. She switched off the TV, and due to the weed, that boost of confidence really hit her. She sat on her knees, turning to him, the latter leaning up on his elbows. She crawled over him slowly and he allowed this, his red and slightly watery eyes meeting hers. "What do you say about us becoming friends?" She pitched, trailing her hand up his body and setting it on his bare chest.
He smirked, catching along to her proposal, running a gentle hand down her exposed back, "is there benefits involved?"
"That premium package, mhle." She whispered seductively.
He moved to sit up, moving his hands to her waist to pull her onto his lap. "Well then, I'd love to be your friend." She smirked at his words, and leaned down, connecting their lips in a searing kiss. He flipped them over, pushing himself between her legs, keeping their lips intact. "I'm gonna make you feel so fucking good." He moved his trail of kisses down her jaw and to her neck, sucking and kissing at her soft and sensitive skin.
"Make me feel good, Lew," she coaxed, running her hands down his muscular back.
