"This way!" Astrid showed the exact way Thomas had explained to us. We ran fast, not noticing that people started to surround us, until a gunshot went off. "Woah!"
I looked around me. At least five guys circled us, one with a gun in their hands. They all looked ugly and dirty, maybe even cranky. "Stay behind me," I commanded to my sister.
She resisted at first, but eventually secretly walked further away as my mind was spinning. I smiled lightly when I realized my old method of fighting; flirting.. though these were quite strong guys. I held my hands up in the air, staring at one of them seductively.
"Get on your knees." One of them commanded.
I turned to him, moving my hair out of my face. "I'm sorry, sir. But I'm afraid I can't do things like that with... a crowd." I paused and looked around. "WICKED or Lawrence?"
"Lawrence." One replied. "Who are you?"
"I'm afraid if I tell you, things won't end well." I fake pouted, mentally cringing at myself. "For us both."
"On your back it says you're property of w.c.k.d." Another one spoke up.
"I'm property of someone else." I corrected.
A younger guy moved closer to me. His hair was messy, his face dirty, and his clothes ripped.
"Gentlemen, I think there's a misunderstanding. Normally you should let me go or you would've killed me already."
"You're worth too much." The younger one grumbled as he took handcuffs out of his pocket. I raised my eyebrows and held out my hands easily, looking him right in the eyes.
He took a breath and struggled to open the cuffs. "In a hurry?" I chuckled.
"Shut up." He snapped.
I smirked lightly, keeping my eyes on him. He looked at my bare wrists, ready to lock them together, until he saw the words on my wrists.
'Murderer' and 'The Creator'.
"You see that?" I whispered.
He stared up at me, eyes slowly fading into fear.
"Are you a murderer?"
I smiled. "Are you?"
Confused he stared at me.
"Hey, kid! We don't have all day!" An older man yelled. He nodded and got ready to cuff me, which I took as a sign.
I pulled the cuffs out of his hands and twisted his arm just to hear a quick crack. Men screamed and jumped forward right away.
I sighed and started fighting. The younger boy already ran off. The one with the gun was about to shoot me, but I easily kicked him in the crotch and pulled the gun out of his hands.
My mind was full on working with tips Holt once told me during a training, which helped me a lot now. One attacked from behind, wrapping his arms around my neck.
I choked for a slight second, but felt a rush of adrenaline fill in me. I elbowed him in the nose and did something I never succeeded during trainings. Let it work, I thought.
I jumped backward, the man let go of me fast, knowing he would end up on the ground if he stayed behind me. And right before I hit the stone myself, one of my arms caught me. The gun was still tightly in my other hand. My feet moved over my head, forming a back handspring.
I gasped quietly when I did it, but soon focused on the gun in my hands. I shot a man right in the stomach, blood spatting everywhere. He fell to the ground while I was already busy with two other guys.
One tried to pull the gun out of my hands. I groaned, feeling a bit panicked about what would happen if I lost, but soon I managed to shoot the gun. The bullet went through the man's hand.
I punched him in the face, then shot him too. The last guy in front of me had a knife, the only problem left. I tried to shoot, but ran out of bullets. Great.
"Ooh." He grinned evilly. "Watcha gonna do now, little girl?"
I bent down right before he sliced my throat. He let out an angry grunt. I jumped forward, sliding through his legs.
Take the vertebra, Holt once said. With a lot of force, I smashed my elbow in the middle of his back. He screamed and bent down, giving me the chance to jump in front of him.
I reached forward, trying to take the knife. He swung it through the air multiple times. A burning pain hit my cheek, yet it didn't stop me.
My knee made contact with his stomach, his crotch following. His grip on the knife loosened just enough for me to take it. Without hesitation, I sliced it across his stomach a few times.
He fell backward, and I threw the knife right in his chest. Breathing heavily, I looked around me. Most men lay there lifeless and some slowly crawled away. I grinned, feeling the power of winning after such a long time again.
"Shit, Lena." Astrid came running over to me. "Remind me not to make you angry."
I laughed and quickly followed her toward the bus, wiping some leftover blood on my clothes.
"Get out of the vehicle with your hands in the air!" We heard. I grinned and gave Astrid a nod, peeking at the bus. Brenda slowly walked out of there with a gun in her hands. Multiple cars and guards surrounded her.
Astrid and I took our chance, running toward Brenda as fast as we could. She completely ignored us, focusing on the guards and into setting them up.
"Hey!" The guard screamed, but he was too late. We crawled into the bus and Brenda shot her gun upward. It sent a red spark into the air.
As Astrid and I sat down somewhere on the bus, Brenda attached a hook to the front. Then she climbed in.
"Wait, what are we doing with the hook, by the way?" I whispered to Astrid.
Her cheeks flushed red. "Uhm... we're gonna be dragged over the walls."
My eyes widened further than ever. "Thomas never mentioned that!" I whisper-screamed.
"Yeah, Minho kind of suggested not to tell you that part until you were on the bus..." She responded carefully.
"Son of a bitch." I muttered.
"Sorry." She laughed awkwardly. I gave her an angry glance. "Sorry." She repeated, this time serious. "But you better hold onto something."
"This is gonna be my death."
"It's not much worse than torture," Astrid commented while I felt the bus go up.
"I'm not so sure about that, in my situation," I mumbled. My hands were already clasped around the empty seat in front of me. At least twenty other kids were behind me, all letting out yelps too.
"Just don't look outside."
"No fu-shucking shit." I snapped. Soon my eyes closed when we went higher, my arms squeezing the chair hard.
"Focus on something else," Astrid suggested.
"Like what?" I grumbled.
She didn't reply for a few seconds. "My voice."
"That won't work." I sighed. "Unless it's Minho."
"Seriously?"
I buried my head in my hands. "No, movieously."
"I can't make Minho teleport here, sis. Sorry."
"Are we almost done?"
Before she got the chance to reply, the bus made an unnecessary, and dangerous movement.
"I'm gonna die." I peeped.
"You just killed like six guys," Astrid replied. "You'll survive this."
I just hummed and squeezed my eyes even closer together. "Hold on." Astrid suddenly warned.
"What do y-." I cut myself off by screaming loudly. My eyes jumped open when the bus fell down very fast. I turned my head to watch the back of the vehicle almost hit the ground, but luckily we stopped right before that.
For about three seconds, we stayed still, then the bus hit the ground. By now we all lay on our backs, since the bus stood straight up.
"Hold on!" Brenda screamed when it started to move forward. I screamed once again, feeling the bus hit the ground again, this time a little softer.
"Is it over?" I whispered.
"It is."
