ππππ π πππππππ πππππππ πππ ππ πππ sleep, sucking in a deep breath as she did so. she looked down at the sleeping girl in her arms, realizing that she was safe and sound. she pulled sarah closer as she looked up at the stars, trying to calm herself down. she had dreamt about taylor, the boy being covered in blood with a look of hate on his face. she was trying not to make too much noise, but apparently it wasn't working because sarah had started to stir in her arms. the blonde beauty stuffed her head into coby's chest before she looked up at her, noticing how fast she was breathing.
"what's the matter?" sarah questioned, her voice groggy and raspy from just waking up.
coby looked down at the girl she loves, calming down slightly when her brown eyes met sarah's blue ones. "had a nightmare about my brother."
"do you wanna talk about it?" sarah asked, her eyebrows raised. coby simply shook her head, letting her hands gently caress sarah's exposed skin. silence fell over the two for a few seconds, sarah shifting in coby's hold. "jake, where's john b?"
that question made the sawyer girl turn to where john b was, only seeing an empty chair. she hadn't even noticed the fact that he was missing. "uh, i have no idea. i didn't even realize he was gone."
the two girls then looked at each other, the both of them immediately knowing where the routledge boy had gone. the both of them shook their heads, hating the fact that john b had broken his promise. the both of them got up, coby grabbing her raggedy bag from the ground before they left their little hiding spot. they went down the stairs and exited the hotel, passing a bald man on the way. as coby followed sarah to her father's house, the sun had started to rise over the horizon, making coby smile slightly. but the peaceful moment was quickly ruined when a jeep pulled up on the side of the road. coby immediately saw the man that was inside the truck, going to pull at sarah's arm. but before she could do it, everything went black.

πππ π ππππππ ππ πππ ππππ ππππππππ is what woke coby up, the curly haired girl groaning in pain. she opened her eyes into slits, looking around to see that she was on a porch of some kind. before she could even move, she felt someone wrapping their arms around her. she knew it was immediately, wrapping her own arms around their waist.
"what the hell happened?" coby questioned, still filling an ache in her head.
"the captain of the ship we were on kidnapped us." sarah answered, pulling away. she brought her hands up to cup coby's cheeks, explaining to her everything that had happened during the time of her being knocked out.
"did they hurt you?" coby asked, examining sarah's features before she looked down at her arms to see if there was any bruises or scratches on her.
"no. no, i'm okay." sarah told her.
"boss, he's here!" a familiar voice appeared, making the two girls turn to the door that led inside the house. the both of them saw john b walk onto the porch with cleo right behind him. "hey, i found your best friend." cleo told the couple.
john b saw the looks that he was receiving from the duo, a look of guilt appearing on his own face. he stepped forward to try and apologize, "hey, listen. i just -"
coby shooting up from the couch made the taller boy stop talking, a grunt leaving his chest when she pushed him back. "you fucking asshole!"
because of coby pushing him, he stumbled back into stubbs before he quickly steadied himself, looking up at the bigger man. before he could react, stubbs had his hand around john b's throat, the routledge boy immediately gasping for air. coby quickly stepped forward, going to get stubbs off her best friend, not caring if she ended up being the one who got hurt.
"i wouldn't provoke him. it tends not to go so well." the voice of captain terrance appeared, making coby freeze in her spot. she watched as he went over to a small bar, grabbing a bottle of liquor. "you can run, but you can't hide, john b and coby. i got eyes and ears everywhere." he continued, stubbs letting go of john b.
the long haired boy sucked in a breath, glad to be able to finally breathe again. he stood up straight, looking up at stubbs. coby watched as stubbs gently slapped john b on the cheek before he threw him onto the couch behind him. stubbs then walked over to coby, pushing her over towards the couch so that she could join john b. the sawyer girl glared up at stubbs before her eyes went over to sarah, the blonde silently telling her to relax.
"took you long enough." terrance said to cleo as he sat down on the other side of john b.
"next time, get him yourself." cleo shot back as she did tricks with her knife.
"after all our hospitality, you two left without saying goodbye." terrance said, looking back over to the two teens sitting beside him.
"let us go." sarah jumped in, standing up from her seat to walk over to everyone.
"i got 100,000 reasons why that ain't gonna happen." terrance told her.
"they didn't do anything." sarah defended.
"maybe they did. maybe they didn't. i don't care. we let the courts decide. bring them to the proper authorities." terrance reasoned, making the two pogues look at him with wide eyes. before they could even get a word out, the both of them were being pulled up by the collars of their shirts by stubbs.
"what are you talking about?" john b questioned as stubbs pushed him and coby back. "hey, no, no. listen, listen. we can pay. we can pay you."
"you got 100k in your back pocket? if not, bye-bye." terrance asked.
coby turned to look at john b, watching him slowly pull his backpack off his back. stubbs snatched the bag out of john b's hand before he started to go through each pocket. coby watched him, realizing that he wasn't gonna find it. she snatched it out of stubbs' hands harshly, making the boy glare at her. she sent him a tightlipped smile as she stepped forward, going to the pocket that she knew the melted gold bars were in.
"easy, girly." terrance told her, standing up from the couch as he aimed a gun at her. coby clenched her jaw as she took another step forward, wanting to move in front of sarah just in case terrance decided to shoot for no reason. she slowly pulled the gold out, glaring at the man as she did so. "slowly."
coby pulled the gold out completely, holding it up as she slowly placed john b's bag on one of the chairs. cleo got up from her chair at the sight of the cold, making coby look at her before she looked back at terrance. silence fell over the porch as cleo, terrance, and stubbs tried to process what the fuck coby had in her hand.
"what is that?" terrance questioned.
"what the fuck does it look like?" coby shot back, raising an eyebrow as she tilted her head.
"give it to me." terrance said as he held out his free hand.
"give it to him!" stubbs ordered, making coby look at him from over her shoulder. she did as told, turning back to terrance as he brought it up to his mouth to nibble on it.
"one hundred and forty-three thousand reasons to let us go. more than the bounty." sarah informed the three.
"i'll tell you what. that is your rescue fee. but i want my bounty too." terrance said, stubbs immediately grabbing coby and john b.
"what the fuck?!" coby shouted as stubbs started to drag her and john b back. "get the fuck off me!"
"no, no, no! terrance! terrance! terrance!" john b yelled.
"no. that wasn't the deal!" sarah reminded as she watched coby try to get out of stubbs' grip.
"just one! that's just one! hey! there's more!" john b yelled as he tried to fight out of stubbs' grip as well. coby let out a sigh when she felt stubbs stop dragging them, looking over at john b. "look, i went to paradise island, to her family's house." john b continued, pointing over to sarah. he then shoved stubbs off him before he pulled coby out of his grip as well. "there is hundred of millions of dollars' worth of that gold there. it is an empty, undefended house. she had the entry codes."
"girlie, is this true?" terrance asked, looking over at sarah.
"it's my family's house. the gold's there. and i can get you to it." sarah confirmed while coby just looked at her. she could tell that sarah was hurt that john b had broken his promise, coby was too. but honestly, she was happy that he did. because if he didn't they'd be getting dragged to the police.

βππππ πππππ ππππ.β ππππππππ commented as they drove down the road in the small truck that terrance owned. him, along with stubbs and cleo were all in the back while coby and sarah were in the front, john b being the one that's driving. they had waited for nightfall to do anything at all. "take us to your mansion, miss fancy-pants."
"all right, this is it." john b announced as he turned a corner. coby's eyebrows raised as they approached a security booth, turning to see if the trio in the back had covered themselves with a tarp.
"you're an asshole, you know that?" she then decided to say, turning to look at john b.
"uh, why am i an asshole?" the routledge boy questioned, his eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"you lied." sarah reminded, john b turning to look at her and coby. he immediately regretted it, seeing the glares that they were throwing at him.
he nodded slightly, looking back at the road. "I am very aware of that, and i am very sorry. and i shouldn't have gone."
"is the gold even there?" sarah asked, her arms crossed over her chest.
"uh. . . i think so." john b answered as he came to a stop outside the security booth.
"you think so?" coby repeated with raised eyebrows. "that - that doesn't bring me any fucking comfort, john b."
he simply shrugged, turning to look out the window so he could speak to the guard. "hey, there. how are you?"
the guard approached the car, a phone to his ear as he spoke to one of the residence that probably lived in the gated community. coby wasn't paying attention to the phone call, but she heard something about a dog. the guard finally gave his attention to john b, pulling the phone away from his ear.
"i'm actually just coming to pick up my leaf blower from, um. . ." john b informed, his voice trailing off as he quickly looked over to sarah for help.
"bay line." the cameron girl whispered.
"bay line." john b repeated, looking back at the guard. "i do a lot of work over there."
"yep. go ahead." the guard nodded.
"thank you." john b smiled, waiting for the gate to open so that they could go through. once it opened, john b gently stepped on the gas so that they could go to the house. once they were through, coby knocked on the back window.
"let's make this fast." sarah said while terrance, cleo, and stubbs pulled the tarp off them. john b drove them to the big mansion, it somehow being bigger than the one back in outer banks. they all got out of the small truck, sarah looking for the key in the bushes.
"gotta be pretty rich to have a waterfall in your front yard. full of surprises, ain't you, miss rich" terrance pointed out, making coby look at him.
"it's a fountain." she corrected as she pulled her book bag on. the older man sent her a glare, not intimidating her in the slightest. she turned to look over at sarah, seeing that she had a key in her hand.
"i absolutely love what you've down tin the landscaping." terrance commented, looking around at the scenery while sarah unlocked the door. "get in. we don't have all night. go."
sarah did as told, coby and john b trailing right behind her. coby was quick to slip her hand into sarah's, the shorter girl interlacing their fingers before she squeezed. silence fell over the group of six as they walked through the big house, john b being the one to lead them over to a huge big black safe that was in one of the living rooms. the group surrounded the safe, sarah slipping her hand out of coby's before she crouched down.
"okay, let's see here." sarah mumbled before she started to punch in a code.
"showtime, girlie." terrance told her, earning a look from coby. "you best remember that code."
"well, can you be quiet for a few seconds so she can concentrate?" coby snapped, making the captain look at her with a small smile. sarah continued to punch in the code before she went to go open the safe, only for it not to budge.
"i knew i should've never listened to you." terrance said.
"usually, he uses his birthday. maybe i entered it wrong." sarah muttered as she started to punch in numbers again, but to no avail.
"chop-chop. let's go." terrance ordered, earning a glare from coby.
"i'm trying." sarah spat, looking back at him before she focused back on the safe.
"what about rose's?" john b suggested. the cameron girl nodded, punching in rose's birthday before she went to go turn the knob. it still didn't open.
"i tell you what, you don't get it open, i get my 100k consolation, all right?" terrance told the three teenagers.
"just give her a second, all right?" coby said as sarah punched in another set of numbers, it still not opening. "how about your birthday?"
"okay." sarah breathed out, punching in the numbers of her birthday before she turned the knob. that seemed to work because, a loud click echoing through the room. sarah opened the safe as she stood up, the door creaking from how slow she was opening it.
"bingo. nice job, girlie." terrance complimented as he stepped towards the safe, reaching to grab one of the gold bars.
"wow." cleo let out, looking at all of the gold bars that were stacked in the safe. coby looked at them too, not even knowing it was that much in the first place.
"i'll be damned." terrance muttered.
"i need shades." cleo smiled.
"go get the bags, stubbs. go get the goddamn duffel bags!" terrance demanded, stubbs doing as told.
"guys." the boy called, it only being a few seconds. they all turned to look at him, wondering why he had stopped. "security's here!" he yelled, making coby's heart drop.
"let's get outta here. should've never let you take me into this." terrance said, making his way into another room as banging started to come from the front doors.
"rent-a-cops, incoming." cleo announced while john b closed the safe, making sure it was locked. she then ran over to stubbs and terrance, the two already being out the house.
"john b, let's go." coby rushed as she made her way towards the door that terrance went out of.
"yeah, go, go, go, go. we'll come back." the routledge boy nodded as he moved over to coby and sarah, the trio about to leave. but they all stopped when terrance had closed the door in their faces and locked it.
"no!" sarah exclaimed.
"what are you doing? terrance, what are you doing?" john b quizzed as he looked at the man.
"you're the bait that's gonna slow 'em down. see you later." terrance answered before he walked away.
"terrance!" sarah called.
"no! terrance! open the door!" john b yelled as he banged on the door.
"dickhead!" coby spat as she watched terrance disappear behind some bushes.
"guys, they're coming. they're coming." sarah told the two pogues, running back into the living room so that she could hide behind the couch. john b and coby followed her, hearing the guards' footsteps echo throughout the house.
"i'm gonna go upstairs and distract them." john b whispered, making the two girls look at him like he was crazy.
"no, dummy. you'll get caught." coby told him, making sure to keep her voice a whisper.
"what else do we have?" he challenged. they could hear the guards getting closer, making them go silent again.
"okay. if you do that, we have a boat here, in the cove behind the property. we'll get the keys. meet us there as soon as you can, okay?" sarah told john b.
"okay." the taller boy nodded.
sarah then peaked over the couch, making sure that there weren't any guards in the living room. "okay, now."
with that, the three teens got up from their hiding spots and moved over to the door. john b urged the girls to go out the doors while he went up the steps, yelling things that'll get the guards' attention. coby followed behind sarah, not having any clue on where they were going. they ran onto the patio, stopping when they heard guards running into the house to get john b. once they were inside, sarah grabbed ahold of coby's hand and led her over to the cove, the duo having to go down some stairs. once they were down the stairs, sarah dropped coby's arm and moved over to a tree, looking around it while coby made sure that any guards made an appearance. just as sarah grabbed the keys, she heard coby grunt from behind her, making her turn around. standing there, was cleo, stubbs, and terrance. the man had coby in a chokehold with one arm, a gun aimed to her head.
"give me the keys." he ordered, placing the gun on coby's right temple. "don't play with me, rich girl. give me the keys!"
"don't do it, sarah." coby mumbled.
terrance quickly hit coby with the butt of his gun, making the curly haired girl let out a scream. "you play silly games with me, baby, you get silly prizes. don't try me. give me the goddamn keys now. get the keys stubbs."
"no, no." sarah mumbled, her heart aching when she had seen blood running from coby's nose.
"don't fucking touch her!" coby spat as she watched stubbs grab at sarah's hand and snatch the keys form her.
"let's go!" terrance yelled, pushing coby to the sand before he ran over to the boat. stubbs followed him without a second thought.
sarah was quick to run over to coby, checking to make sure that she was okay. she then looked up, seeing cleo still standing there. she quickly apologized before she followed terrance and stubbs out to the boat. sarah looked back town at coby, seeing that the taller girl had blood all over her face from being pistol whipped. sarah helped her girlfriend up, making sure that her nose wasn't broken before they made their way back to the stairs. when they were at the top of the stairs, they saw that two guards were dragging john b away.
"john b." coby mumbled, wiping her nose with her hand before she quickly followed behind the guards. sarah was right behind her, pulling her back by the waistband of her pants to make sure that the guards wouldn't see her.
they followed them over to the yard, peaking around the corners so that they wouldn't be caught. john b was on his knees with his hands behind his head, four guards surrounding him, one of them aiming a gun at him. the two girls quickly noticed that one of the guards were on the phone with ward cameron, describing what john b had looked liked.
"mr.cameron wants to look at you." the guard told john b, only make the routledge boy drop his head. "hold his head up." he told another guard, him doing as told and pulling john b's head up by his hair.
"we gotta do something." coby said before she spat some blood out of her mouth. her nose was still leaking, thanks to captain terrance.
sarah had moved away from coby and over to the sprinkler system. coby turned to look at her, wondering what she was doing as she watched sarah press a few buttons. suddenly, the sprinklers on the yard turned on, spraying the guards and john b. and the phone that the guard was using to talk to ward. the girls could hear the guards yelling to cut it off, sarah immediately grabbing coby's hand and pulling her over to a small storage shed. coby gently closed the door behind them just as a guard rounded the corner.
"hurry up! get those sprinklers off!" a guard yelled from the yard.
"is it off?" the guard who the girls were hiding from asked.
"yeah!" the other guard answered, making the guard walk back over to them. coby looked through the crevices to make sure that he had gone back, not wanting to get caught and add to the situation.
"i have an idea." sarah announced, making coby look at her. sarah had a big can of pest control in her hand, a devious smile on her face.
"i love you." coby admitted once she had realized what sarah was getting at.
the cameron girl let out a giggle, starting to climb out of the shed. coby followed behind her, wiping more blood from her nose. "i love you, too. now, stay hidden and don't move until i tell you to."
"yes, ma'am." coby nodded, watching sarah walk over to the guards and john b.
"what is going on?" sarah questioned as she approached the guards. coby felt herself tense up as she watched each and every guard aim their gun at her the blonde beauty.
"who are you?" one of them asked.
sarah held her hands up, the pest control still in her hand as she walked closer to john b. "i'm val. i'm house-sitting for the camerons."
"you live here?" the same guard asked, pointing his gun to the ground.
"no, i'm house-sitting. i just started a week ago." sarah repeated.
"caught this guy trying to break in."
"what?" sarah asked, acting shocked as she walked around to look at john b. "oh, i know him. he cleans boats for the neighbors."
"which neighbors?"
"like, the stanleys. down the street."
"what's his name?"
sarah turned to look down at john b, the routledge boy looking back. "vlad." she answered before she raised the pest control and sprayed the guard in his face. she continued to do that, john b taking one of the guards down. "jake!"
coby quickly ran out from her hiding spot, tackling one of the guards to the ground before she punched him in the face. she smiled when she realized that he was out cold. she felt a familiar pair of arms pull her up, already knowing that it was john b. she sniffled as she steadied herself, her nose still gushing out blood.
"guys, come on. go to the car." john b yelled as he let go of coby, gesturing to the truck that they came in. the girls followed right behind him, coby getting in the passenger seat while sarah hopped onto the cargo bed. john b was quick to start the car.
"go! go! go ! go!" sarah rushed, seeing that one of the guards had recovered and was running right towards the truck.
"i'm going. i'm going." john b mumbled as he pulled off.
"faster! oh, god." sarah exclaimed, making coby turn to look back at her. she saw that the guard had jumped onto the cargo bed, sarah kicking him to try to get him off.
"john b, step on it, dude!" coby shouted, watching the guard grab at sarah's legs.
"oh, shit!" john b let out, stepping on the gas just as sarah kicked the guard again, making him fall down.
"you okay, love?" coby asked, looking at sarah with worried eyes. the freckled girl nodded, taking deep breaths as she tried to calm herself down.
coby felt herself relax, sticking her arm through the back window to hold sarah's hand. the cameron girl immediately interlaced their fingers, feeling herself relax at that. "my nose hurts." coby mumbled, earning a breathy laugh from her girlfriend.
