AFTER THE EVENTS in Salt Lake City, Kathy, Joel and Ellie made a home in Jackson with Joel's brother Tommy. Kathy and Joel finally got to settle down and focus on their relationship, not really having to worry about infected or life threatening situations getting in the way. Over the next five years, they have their ups and downs and a few unlikely surprises coming their way, and a loss that breaks them inside.

Kathy never thought she would be hated by her own daughter, but I guess lying to her about the Fireflies made karma a bitch. She only hoped it wasn't too late.
