it was known of how a mothers love is an elemental human need. the relationship basically biblical.

rhaenerya targaryen had not believe herself fit to marry, let alone become a mother. her biggest fear and what she thought would become her greatest regret turned out to be her greatest accomplishment. she gave birth to a daughter, one with the most magnificent violet eyes and scorched brown hair, one which would surely bring into question her legitimacy. rhaenerya nor laenor did not care for that fact, viewing her as the greatest gifts from the gods. they named her aemma, after her late grandmother.

the girl was surely astonishing if not just beautiful, something everyone in westeros noticed. king viserys loved his granddaughter more than the earths and winds themselves, she would be his daughter's peace.

as aemma grew older she became victim to the whispers and stares she'd receive whenever passing the handmaidens and cooks in the palace. a bastard. that's what they called her, her young ears were unsure what the word meant but she knew it surely couldn't have had any positive connotations to it. to ignore the comments, she busied herself. became an expert at a tender age with a bow and arrow, spent many of her years in the library and formed a close bond with anyone sworn to protect her.

surely enough, girls grow up and aemma was a girl. she learnt the meaning behind the word bastard and grew hateful towards anyone who uttered it as an insult towards her. became closed off to anyone she didn't share blood with, or hadn't been around when she was growing up. she was quick-witted and spiteful. still she was loved amongst many, however she held a lot of hate in her little heart which only grew as the years flew by.

however a hate towards a specific targaryen was one she payed most attention to.
