She and her sister Sunny Miguel were born to Melike Ariana Naz Miguel and Cengiz Adam Miguel in Izmir, Turkey, and moved to Beverly Hills, California, in 2008. Neither of her parents has been appropriately introduced on her channel, but they have featured in many of her vlogs throughout the years. Her sister, Sunny Miguel, has a YouTube channel of her own.

Rowan stated that she identifies as pansexual and has unofficially been with two women in the past; however, she has not named her previous partners. She began a relationship with the former model and American actress, Laura Harrier, in April 2017 and moved in together mid to late 2018. They currently live together with their dog, Jax. Rowan proposed to Laura on February 14, 2021, and got married in May 2021.
