As everyone got back to the shore eclipse had already started to fall and everyone was parting ways, Kiri said bye to Aila. Neteyam and Tuk said bye to Aonung, who just sighed.
As Aila said bye to Kiri she caught a glimpse of Tsireya and Lo'ak, Tsireya had grabbed Lo'ak's hand as she shook it.
"I had a lot of fun with you, no offense to Kiri but you were definitely more fun to be around," Tsireya giggled.
"Thanks, I guess, I had fun with you to. Thank you for agreeing to teach me." Lo'ak said as he laughed slightly as he moved a piece of hair out of Tsireya's face.
Aila could tell that Tsireya was blushing, and she couldn't watch anymore so she started to walk away. As she was walking away Lo'ak noticed and caught her gaze. He could tell that she was upset.
"Hey, I have to go. Thanks for today." Lo'ak said not gazing back at Tsireya and letting go of her hands as he started running in Aila's direction.
'*โข.ยธโก โกยธ.โข*'
"Hey, wait up," Lo'ak screamed after Aila, who was running into towards the roots. Aila paid no attention to him and just kept running as tears fell down her cheeks.
Aila was very far into the roots when she felt a hand grab her wrist and turn her around. As she turned around, she was meet with familiar eyes, the golden yellow eyes. She didn't know how long she had been running but now that she stopped, she felt as though her body was giving out. She felt her eyes start to close as she fell into Lo'ak's chest.
"Woah," Lo'ak said grabbing Aila before she fell. Lo'ak pulled her up and wrapped his arms around her, somewhat stabilizing her.
"Hey you, ok?" Lo'ak said as Aila started to open her eyes.
As she pulled herself off of Lo'ak she started to look around with blurred vision, she seemingly did not know how far in the roots she was.
As Aila was looking around she suddenly felt a warm hand caress her cheek, "Aila, are you okay?" She heard Lo'ak's muffled voice say.
As her vision came back to her, along with her hearing. She recognized the person standing in front of her, Lo'ak. She backed away, not wanting to be near Lo'ak anymore.
"Aila, wait." Lo'ak said as he saw the hurt starting to form in her eyes.
Aila couldn't look at him but at the same time she wanted to, she just wanted to be with him.
Even though Aila had hurt Lo'ak, he still wanted to be with her. He couldn't stop himself from that. He knew that it would probably end up in him getting hurt again but he just wanted to be around her, that's all.
"Aila what's wrong?" Lo'ak said grabbing her forearm, stopping her from walking away anymore.
"What do you think, Lo'ak?" Aila grumbled.
"I-I don't know." Lo'ak stuttered out.
"Ugh, your so naive. I saw you and Reya." Aila said as tears started to form in her eyes.
"What, n-nothing's happening. I promise. I don't know what she's doing. Aila its-" Lo'ak got cut off when he felt a hand grab him.
"There you are!" Tsireya said as she came up from behind Lo'ak, pulling him away from Aila.
"You sure?" Aila said as he was being dragged away.
Lo'ak reached out his hand in Aila's direction and told Tsireya to stop but she kept dragging him. Lo'ak could see the hurt in Aila's eyes as she watched her sister pull Lo'ak away. She was angry at both of them, and she couldn't stand to look at them any longer. She turned away and started walking away as Lo'ak yelled after her. She knew that she was the whole reason that they were not talking in the first place but now it was Lo'ak's fault. He was flirting with Aila's sister, and she felt betrayed.
'*โข.ยธโก โกยธ.โข*'
Tsireya had dragged Lo'ak all the way into the village before she finally stopped to turn and looked at Lo'ak.
"Ah, here we are." Tsireya said.
"What the heck are you thinking, dragging me all the way here. I don't want to be here. I was talking to Aila. You don't get to pull me away from people." Lo'ak basically shouted.
Tsireya was stunned and backed away as she swallowed hard at his words. She also wanted to spend time with Lo'ak and she finally got to, but he ran away.
"I-I just wanted to talk to you." Tsireya stuttered out.
"Ugh, why. Reya, don't you have anything else to do?" Lo'ak said as he rubbed his forehead.
"No, not really. All my friends are off doing stuff, so I am kind of all alone, except for you." Tsireya replied while on the verge of tears.
"What about Neteyam or Kiri or even Tuk?" Lo'ak questioned.
"Well, Neteyam had to take care of Tuk and Kiri was tired, so she went back home." Tsireya explained.
"Look I'm sorry but I can't talk right now. I need to clear my head." Lo'ak said as he walked off.
"Ok, its fine I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" Tsireya shrugged.
Lo'ak just nodded as he walked off to his pod.
"Ugh why did she have to pull me away from Aila, I was going to tell her how I feel. Now I feel like if I go back to her, it will just be awkward, and I don't want that. I just wish Reya would have never came after me and pulled me away. I hope tomorrow I can talk to Aila but I feel like she won't want to talk to me." Lo'ak thought to himself.
'*โข.ยธโก โกยธ.โข*'
Tsireya walked back to her pod and was meet with a familiar face standing right in the middle of the pod, Aila. Why was she here? I thought she was in the roots. Tsireya thought. As soon as Aila caught sight of Tsireya she walked straight up to her and shoved her. Tsireya stumbled back, stunned.
"What the heck Aila!" Tsireya screamed.
"Why did you follow Lo'ak into the roots and drag him away, huh?" Aila shouted back.
"What does it matter to you?" Tsireya replied not answering Aila's question.
"I said why did you follow Lo'ak, Reya," Aila asked again.
"Because I wanted to talk to him, privately." Tsireya said as she lowered her voice.
"What are you not telling me, Reya. You used to tell me everything." Aila said as she also softened her voice.
"Well, I didn't want to tell you this because I know you would be hurt, OK," Tsireya said as she went and sat down.
Aila follow Tsireya and sat down beside her as she put her arm on Tsireya's shoulder making her look at her, "Even if you think I'm going to be hurt I would rather you tell me than keep it from me, okay?" Aila stated.
Tsireya looked away and shook her head positively, "do you really want to know?" Tsireya questioned.
"Yes, I want to know everything." Aila replied.
"Ok, even if you don't like it?" Tsireya muttered.
Aila simply shook her head as Tsireya stood up taking a deep breath, "Ok, look I know you won't like this and thats why I've been avoiding telling you but I kind of sort of have feelings for.." She paused and swallowed hard, nervously.
"Lo'ak, I have feelings for Lo'ak. Before you say anything, I know that you do to because I see the way you look at him and I saw how you acted today when he chose to be with me and Kiri. I also know that you're going to be mad and I'm sorry, but I can't help my feelings for him. I don't know how long you have had feelings for him to, but I have had them ever since he got here, and I just wanted to talk to him today because it seems like he is always around you and I just want to get to know him and to see how he feels about me. I don't want this to ruin our relationship and I know that you're probably angry at me right now, but I hope that you won't be mad at me for long and that whoever he chooses we will stay close. Ok, I'm done..."
Aila stood there shocked for a moment before licking her lips, "Reya, yes I am mad at you and yes I do have feelings for him to, but I know that he will choose me. I'm sorry." Aila said as she placed her hands on Tsireya's shoulders.
"How do you know he will choose you, hmmm?" Tsireya retorted.
"Because I just know." Aila said proudly.
"Tell me how, I want to know how you know." Tsireya said growing angrier.
"Ok, you really want to know. You won't like it." Aila said inking her gaze in Tsireya's.
Tsireya simply shook her head positively.
"Ok, you know that night that Lo'ak was drunk, and I brought him home?" Aila questioned.
"Yes, why?" Tsireya retorted.
"Well, that's the night that we had our first kiss. Then there was our official first date the next day whenever I told him that I see him and he said it back. Also, that same night he kissed me again and we spent the night together." Aila stated.
Tsireya just stood there shocked and confused.
"Is that enough proof for you?" Aila questioned.
Tsireya just shook her head as her ears perked down.
"Hey, look I'm sorry but I just think that Lo'ak will chose me because of how close we have gotten." Aila stated as she started to walk out of the hut.
"Wait, has anything changed between you two because today he didn't want to be with you?" Tsireya questioned before Aila could leave.
"Yeah, but I don't know if I want to tell you." Aila said.
"Please Aila you asked me to tell you something, now its your turn." Tsireya retorted.
"Fine, one night me and Lo'ak went to the roots, and we were talking, and I said something I shouldn't have said but he needed to know. I asked if he knows that it is forbidden for us to be together." Aila said as she put her gaze on the ground.
"What did he say?" Tsireya questioned softly.
"He just nodded but he asked if that was what I wanted and I regretted saying it the moment I said it, but I said that I didn't know. He said he understood but I don't think he does, and he has been avoiding me ever since except for today at the roots. I feel terrible for what I said but I was just making sure he knew but at the same time if we do end up together, I'm scared that something might happen to us if someone finds out. Especially if Aonung finds out because he clearly doesn't like Lo'ak and he would most definitely tell father." Aila sighed.
"I don't know what to say except that I'm sorry. But say he does end up choosing me, would you be, okay?" Tsireya questioned.
"I mean I can't stop it and it is Lo'ak's decision and he would be very lucky to have you." Aila smiled at Tsireya.
"Thank you, Aila." Tsireya said getting up from her seated position as Aila followed. They both walked outside and stood against the rail watching Awa'atlu light up in it's bioluminescence.
"You know I do love you, right?" Aila said inking her gaze in Tsireya's.
Yes, I know, and I love you too." Tsireya smiled and wrapped her arms around Aila.
"Just we have to promise to not let Lo'ak get between us, okay? Tsireya mumbled into Aila's shoulder.
"I promise. No boy should ever get between us." Aila giggled.
"You know I do feel like you and Neteyam would be a good couple though." Tsireya said breaking away from Aila's embrace.
Aila gasped and slightly hit Tsireya's shoulder, "Skxawng, don't try and change my mind now." Aila giggled.
