It happened before I entirely notice it-the increasing numbers of one-shots of collaboration books. I knew, maybe it was time to write a part in Pandemonium that contains the books associated with the main book. Maybe, for promotional purposes?
Instead of calling the series simply, «Kyoko Mochizuki», I thought- 'Wouldn't it be amazing if I were to name the series with her epithet?'
And so, I came to this decision to rearrange my thoughts.
If you have been following my story or at least have read it's first three chapters, you probably know that Kyoko had been referred to as, «Holmes' Apprentice».
Why? Sherlock Holmes is known as a great detective, using simple words.
"Sherlock Holmes is a fictional private detective created by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Referring to himself as a "consulting detective" in the stories, Holmes is known for his proficiency with observation, forensic science, and logical reasoning that borders on the fantastic, which he employs when investigating cases for a wide variety of clients, including Scotland Yard." -According to Wikipedia.
^^There ya go.
On a side note, an apprentice is defined as a person who learns a job or skill by working for a fixed period
of time for someone who is very
good at that job or skill.
Well, the definitions are pretty literal. Do I need to explain myself? 😅
Just a note, Kyoko only became a high school detective recently in the book. Before that, she had contributed in many cases, as a nosy civilian but couldn't take the credit, for obvious reasons.
Kyoko's father is a police detective before and truly had a strong sense of justice. It was one of the -a lot-things that Kyoko took from her father. Plus, even as a child, she was being taught by her father beforehand on making the right decisions and trained her to get evidence before making assumptions.
Back on the topic. Why not make this the title of the series?
Most of my upcoming collabs and one-shots are AUs (alternate universe), which means, some of the events are altered. That may or may not include the fact that Kyoko is a great detective. In short, the epithet «Holmes' Apprentice» might be not applicable to other books.
Moving on, Kyoko has another epithet- The «Princess Barbarous» or the «Barbaric Princess».
Princesses are typically wise, kind-hearted, brave and have a sharp mind (with the exception of some Disney princesses, lol). People would envision a princess to be beautiful.
Kyoko possesses most traits of a princess, even elegance in the tiniest bit. However, Kyoko has something that a typical princess never has.
A barbaric attitude. But you might say, "Eth, you don't know all the princesses! Some might be barbarous and have a foul mouth!" - just a clarification, I am describing a typical image of a princess. And, a princess had been trained to walk with elegance, talk with elegance, and do things with elegance.
Of course, Kyoko can be elegant when she needs to. 😆
But we are talking about natural self here.
Kyoko is undoubtedly harsh, foul-mouthed, and delinquent-like though not entirely. She doesn't respect the authority unless they deserve it, and does not hesitate to say her opinions.
«Princess Barbarous» is an oxymoron, since a princess is elegant, which contradicts to the word barbarous. She's like, cruel to the cruel, lol.
So, why not use it as the title for the series?
Nah, my reason is personal. I don't like the way it is, too shallow I'd say. Not enough symbolism, and doesn't fit my standards. Plus, everyone knows she's barbaric as fxxk, which means it doesn't have a deeper meaning at all. Get what I mean? ^^"
When I was coming up for Kyoko's epithet in P4Arena, I came up with, «The Dual-wielding Barbaric Princess», and I am pretty satisfied with it. Your thoughts? 😆
-I sincerely hope everything I've said makes sense until now.-
So far, Kyoko's epithets are:
«Holmes' Apprentice»
«Princess Barbarous»
«The Dual-wielding Barbaric Princess» (P4A)
«Rising Detective»
«Mischievous Brat»
It's a lot, lol. And I still want another one. X3
You may or may not have seen "тнe ѕerιeѕ │aѕѕoѕιcιaтeԀ вooĸѕ" story part in Pandemonium 'till now, I am dissatisfied with my ideas so I temporarily named the series, «Holmes' Apprentice».
Now, Eth, just what epithet are you longing for?
The one with the concept of - white tiger and winter or something, cold.
First off, why the white tiger? Here's the meaning of the white tiger spirit animal.
"White Tiger is drawn to a soul that has a powerful sense of conviction and inner strength. Therefore, one who is blessed with this Power Totem will have strong ideas of what is "right" and "wrong," and will stand by this personal belief system, even if that means leaping in the face of popular opinion." - according to crystalinks.
Let me attach photos of it-
each word that describes the white tiger fits Kyoko - And, maybe, she is blessed with the Power of Totem. I admit I am not familiar with how spirit animal works or what it means generally, but please if I said something offensive or if you know better, please tell me.
-oh, look at the eyes. so pretty.-
Now, why winter?
Snow and winter are often used to represent sadness, bleakness or death. Difficulties, hardships, desperation, and solitude also applies.
My first thought was, «The White Tiger from the Winter».
It is kind of ironic, lol. But here's the point- in simple words, a tiger is determined, strong and brave. Exact words to describe Kyoko. Now, from winter. I don't know how to elaborate this. ♒((⇀‸↼))♒
-after a few minutes-
A tiger that survived winter. Yep, those exact words. That's the main concept. I still don't know how to elaborate that, lol. Or also, a kitten who survived winter and became a tiger.
In literal meanings, a girl who suffered through a lot but survived and grew into a distinguished woman. Lol, that was long. And this log is long! *checks word count* 1025 words?! (; °Д°)
I have been ranting a lot, lol. I hope everything I've said made sense until now.
(voice in the bg be like) Eth, eth! Why are you still unsatisfied? Just how high are your standards?
Nah, too long and doesn't sound too good. I am satisfied with the concept, just how do I put it into beautiful words... TT-TT
-after a few minutes-
The White Tiger Beneath the Moonlight...? Still, too long but is pretty. Why beneath the moonlight? It's lonely. Yeah, that's it.
As of this very moment, I am still thinking lol.
I'm browsing through the net, and look what I found~!
Why is the world so nice me-? Dang, I take that back. Every time I say that, misfortunes strike, lol.
I'll update once I get to think of a good one. X3
