STRENGTHS

SINGING........ Gabrielle has been singing since the 
age of 4. She had been getting lessons
since the age of 6. She gave up those
lessons just before moving to Salt
Lake City, but she still continues to
pursue her passion by (eventually
with the encouragement of friends)
uploading videos of herself singing
onto a separate instagram account,
specifically for her music. She has
since uploaded original songs she
had written and gotten praise by
many individuals. Noticeable
features include: her excellent
vibrato and control, emotion behind
her voice, strength of voice,
clearness, perfect pitch.

DANCING....... Like singing, Gabrielle had been
dancing since the age of 4. She has
recently joined a dance club in Salt
Lake City after the success of her
joint choreography with Carlos in the
        winter musical. She had a dance
        account on instagram that she
        abandoned after quitting the cheer
        squad before moving to Salt Lake
        City. Her previous friends (at her
        previous school) had kept her efforts
        alive as captain by crediting her
        choreography routines on their social
        accounts. Gabrielle continues to
        pursue dance as she moved into the
        next stages of her time at East High.
        Main dance styles include: modern
        jazz, contemporary, ballet, hip hop,
         street.

SKATING....... Gabrielle got into skateboarding due
        to her previous boyfriend Caleb
        hanging out at the skatepark with his
        skateboard obsessed friends.
Gabrielle being a fast learner picked
up on the sport with the help of
Caleb's friends teaching her. Since
her first "lesson", she had been going
to the skate park and continuing it.
She can perform a few tricks and
enjoys learning new tricks. Most of
her free time is spent at the skate park
with her best friend Mia.

FLEXIBILITY
....................... Gabrielle participated in gymnastics
        from the age of 4-14. She gave up the
        sport after 10 years as she felt she
        wasn't learning anything new. She
still continues her flexibility stretches
and continues showcasing her
gymnastics skills in dance routines.
Her favourite flexibility skills to
showcase include: back flips, front
flips, splits, front walkover, ariel. This
list is not limited to those mentioned.

PIANO........... Musical instruments have been a
        main interest of Gabrielles ever since
        she wanted to expand and challenge
        her musical abilities. Piano was the
        first instrument she learnt, followed
        by guitar, ukulele and drums.
        Drumming is her most recent
        instrument to learn, because of this
        she kept it a secret as she can't decide
        if she likes it or not yet. Gabrielle
        mainly chooses the piano as her main
        instrument for accompanying her
        singing voice, both when songwriting
        and practicing vocals exercises.
        Gabrielle would never admit it, but
        she is one of the best piano players in
        the theatre group.

WRITING..... Gabrielle had been writing song lyrics
for as long as she could remember.
Having an interest in poetry in her
younger years, she was able to
incorporate her love for poetry into
songwriting. She currently has a book
full of lyrics - completed, partially
completed or just ideas - that she is
reluctant to show others. However,
her best friend Seb has seen it and
heard her songs, and so has her
boyfriend Ricky on the occasion they
both overheard her in the auditorium.
All of her songs are personal. Her
songwriting is a way to get her
feelings onto paper and acts as
therapy for her. When Gab builds up
the confidence, perhaps she would
someday expose her talent to the
world. But, for right now she will stick
to uploading cover videos to
                          Instagram and Youtube.

GRADES....... School has always been a place where
                          Gabrielle thrives. She has always
                          excelled in all of her subjects. Though,
                          perhaps this comes down to her
                          enjoyment of learning. She does not
                          enjoy the classroom environment or
                          the pressures that come with testing
                          and assessments, but, she does enjoy
                          the vast variety of knowledge she
                          obtains in her lessons. Again,
                          Gabrielle being naturally smart is not
                          something she likes to admit.

WEAKNESSES

ACTING........ A lack of experience in acting made
                  Gabrielle quite vulnerable when asked
                         to cover Nini in the Winter musical.
                  Gabrielle had never been interested in
                  the acting side of musical theatre. She
                  enjoyed the songs and the dancing,
but that was it. Gabrielle's stage
freight has always held her back with
performing.

STAGE FREIGHT
...................... Gabrielle's stage freight has been her
                          biggest struggle to cope with.
                          Whenever she would get up on a stage
                          she would freeze up, heart palpitating
                          and voice box swelling. She struggled
                          for years. The first time she
                          experienced stage freight was in the
                          3rd grade when her school was
                          performing the Nativity for Christmas.
                          All of her friends auditioned and
                          encouraged her to, so she did.
                          However, as soon as she got up on the
                          stage in front of her classmates to
                          audition, she froze up. Her throat
                          tightened up, squeezing her voice box
                          allowing no air or sound to escape her.
                          She never wanted to experience that
                          again, so she ignored the stage
                          altogether, unless it was to dance.

CONFIDENCE
...................... Confidence has never been a strength
                          for Gabrielle. Many factors influenced
                          her lack of it, her previous relationship
                          with Caleb, her stage freight, her body
                          image, her experiences with other
                          people. She had built up a wall, a
                          facade which made her seem confident
                          enough to deceive people, but, on the
                          inside she hated herself. She was
                          insecure.

COMMUNICATION
...................... Gabrielle was not very good at
                          communicating her feelings towards
                          people. She was good at asking people
                          for advice and complaining about
                          things she knew she could resolve if
                          she only just communicated the truth.
                          But, she lacked the confidence to be
                          able to resolve the issues with people.
                          She had no problem opening up about
                          her past or her own problems with the
                          people she trusted. But, as soon as
                          there was conflict with someone or a
                          problem arising, she had no idea how
                          to talk to them about how it made her
                          feel. She was learning how to break
                          this habit and is still learning to this
                          day.
