faye sighed as she got out of her bed, this was her first day as a first year. she was nervous, to say the least, faye knew she wouldn't have trouble making friends as she already had them due to living at alfea for basically her whole life, but the feeling in her stomach wouldn't go away.

she was already way ahead of the other first year specialists because of her father saul silva, the specialist's headmaster and sky who was practically her brother due to her father taking sky in when his father, andreas died. sky was her favourite person, they grew up together, trained together you name it.

"faye!" sky shouted from the hallway.

"yes?" she shouted back, walking to her door and peaking her head out of the frame.

"hurry up and get ready, i'm meeting riven soon." he told her.

"alright give me ten minutes." she said, walking over to her dresser.

faye quickly chose an outfit and carried on getting ready, she sighed as she thought about riven. he hadn't spoken to her all summer, he and sky still saw each other but faye was never invited to hang out with them, she didn't mind that much it just meant she had more time to herself. her and riven used to be best friends, ever since sky and riven became friends faye and riven just clicked. faye, riven and sky were the perfect trio they always got along, except when riven was being a dick.

the girl grabbed her bag from a chair in her room and exited her bedroom, meeting sky in the kitchen.

"good morning, faye." her dad smiled, walking over to her and pulling her into. a side hug and kissing her on the head.

"good morning, dad." she said hugging him back.

"want some breakfast before we go?" sky asked her.

faye shook her head. "no thank you." she smiled.

...

faye and sky arrived at the courtyard, the two instantly began talking to some friends, well sky's friends. faye looked around to try and find riven, but with no luck, she pulled herself back into the conversation. after way too much talking sky's friends left the two alone, she noticed sky staring at someone.

"who are you staring at?" she asked, nudging him. he didn't reply.

she followed his eyes and saw him staring at a red-headed girl.

"she's pretty." faye said, smiling at him.

the girl began to walk away.

"come on." he told faye.

"wait-" she sighed realising he wasn't going to wait. "okay i'm coming." she shouted.

sky walked next to the girl. "wow. you are so lost." he told her. "i'm impressed with your confidence in the face of complete ignorance."

"sky that's not how you talk to girls." faye rolled her eyes. "i taught you better than this."

sky looked down at faye giving her a look which pretty much meant for her to be quiet.

"issue is, you're overcommitted. i mean, you're essentially running." he continued. "and now that i'm here, you can't give me the satisfaction of turning around-" he tried to finish but the girl interrupted him.

"i don't need help, but thanks." the girl told him, faye noticed instantly that she was american, it was pretty hard to miss really.

sky chuckled. "i don't remember offering it." smiling at the girl. "so presumptuous. you must be a fairy." he finished.

"i am a fairy." the redhead half smiled. "sorry, that's just something i never thought i would say." she fully smiled this time.

faye just stood awkwardly next to sky hoping this torture would end.

sky chucked again. "it's an odd thing, considering you're standing in a courtyard of a college for fairies." he smiled.

faye hadn't really seen sky talk to a girl for this long since he was with stella, she liked stella sort of. stella was jealous when faye and sky were together, even when riven was there faye found it strange that stella felt like that knowing sky was basically her brother.

"we don't have a lot of those where i'm from." the girl said, letting out a small laugh and looking around slightly awkwardly.

"and what realm are you from?" faye finally spoke up, making sky slightly jump as he forgot she was standing next to him. fate rolled her eyes at the boy.

"california." she smiled at faye.

"oh, you're not from the otherworld?" faye asked her.

"i'm not." the girl answered. she noticed sky's face and looked at him. "if you really want your mind blown, three months ago i didn't even know the otherworld existed."

"well, if you are lost, which i'm not saying you are, and you need help, which i'm not saying i'm offering..." he turned and pointed. "this is the specialist hall." he turned back to her and pointed behind her. "the fairy hall is that way."

"oh, the specialist hall. obviously." she laughed. "and i definitely know what a specialist is!"

"he would be happy to mansplain it." faye told her. "it's sorta his thing." she smiled.

the girl laughed. "i can tell."

"quit perving on the first years." a person said behind faye and sky.

faye spun around to see riven.

"riv, just give me one second. yeah?" sky told him.

"why?" he asked. "you gonna chase her?"

sky turned around and saw the girl walking away.

"nope." sky said.

faye watched as the two boys hugged each other. the pair pulled from the hug and riven came back other to faye.

"hey, faye." he gave her a small smile.

"hi, riv." faye smiled back.

riven turned back to sky and they began to talk, faye let out a small sigh and walked away. she was confused on how last year riven was hugging her every time they saw each other and now all she got was a 'hey'? it hurt her, a lot.

...

faye made her way to the area where the specialists trained. she hadn't seen her dad yet but another teacher had paired her with another first year girl. faye made her way to the platform where the girl was stood

"hey, im faye." she smiled at the dark-haired girl.

"yeah i don't care." the girl rolled her eyes, picking up a blunt wooden sword.

faye pulled a face at the girl, doing the same. the girls began training with the swords, the girl faye was training with was good, but she wasn't as good as faye.

the dark-haired girl swung her sword at faye but she quickly defended herself, blocking the sword with hers and pushing the girl backwards, the girl tumbled and fell over. faye had to hold in her laugh, she knew she shouldn't laugh but she found it funny that the girl thought she was better than faye.

faye walked over to the girl putting out her hand to let the girl take it, she ignored faye's hand and got up herself, the girl huffed, she looked at faye with anger and charged at her. faye quickly moved out the way.

"what the fuck!?" she shouted at the girl.

she went for faye again this time punching her in the face. faye gasped and held her cheek, the pain quickly went away and the adrenaline came. she looked at the girl who had a sly smile on her face, faye laughed walking over to the girl and punching her back as hard as she could, faye had knocked the girl to the ground she then got on top of her and began continuously punching her.

faye heard familiar shouts, they were shouting her name but everything was a blur she couldn't make out the voices. she snapped out it when she felt hands grab her arms and pull her off the girl.

"get off me-" she shouted and spun around to who grabbed her. it was riven, she looked around to see a crowd of people watching her, faye looked at the girl, sky was helping her up but blood was pouring out the girl's nose and down her face. she looked back at riven with panic in her eyes, his hands were still holding her arms so she shoved him off her, grabbed her bag from the floor and walked away, ignoring riven, sky and her father shouting her name and telling her to come back.

faye walked into the woods, just going past the barrier. she found a fallen tree and sat on it, faye sat in silence for a while until she began to cry, she knew this wasn't her and she began hating herself for what she had just done. she had sky and her dad calling her phone.

half an hour or so had passed, and faye decided to head to her dorm room, thankfully she was able to get a room for herself, courtesy of her father being the headmaster of the specialists. she tried to avoid everyone she saw, keeping her head down.

she made it to her dorm but her door was slightly open which was weird because she knew for a fact she had a dorm to herself. she quietly opened the door and saw two figures sitting on her bed. her light wasn't on so her room was pretty dark, she entered her room fully and switched on the light. the two people stood up instantly. it was sky and riven.

"jesus, you both scared me." she let out a small laugh.

"faye." sky spoke quietly.

faye's head filled with flashbacks from when she hurt that girl. she let out a sigh. "please can i explain what happened?" she asked quietly.

they both nodded, faye explained the story saying the girl was rude as soon as they met and because faye knocked her to the ground during literal training the girl got angry and punched her and then was smiling about it. faye then spoke about how she felt during it all and how she felt like she couldn't stop punching her, she cried, a lot.

faye found out the girl, who was called maisie, twisted the story and said that faye was the one who was instantly rude to her and punched her for no reason, faye was livid. sky and riven saw this too, she wanted to hurt her all over again.

"faye, calm down okay? we believe you but you need to talk to your dad and ms. dowling." riven spoke to the girl as calmly as possible. the boy found it odd considering he had never known faye had a temper like that.

"is there any point?" she laughed dryly. "i'm gonna get expelled anyways. even if i don't everyone will hate me." faye told them.

the boys stayed silent for a minute or so until riven spoke. "it's the first year's party soon, faye." he told her.

"okay? and?" she questioned.

he opened his bag and pulled out a flask, giving faye a look.

"riv, i don't know if that's a good idea." sky told him.

"sky, she needs this right now." riven told him calmly, but also mischievously.

"okay." faye spoke, grabbing the flask out of riven's hand. "get out so i can change."

they nodded, left her room and waited outside, faye changed into some high-waisted jeans and a nice crop top. she left her dorm and the trio began walking to the party. she felt good right now she felt like she had her boys back.

they got to the party and sky left to speak to the girl from earlier that day, sky said her name was bloom. it was just faye and riven, she pulled out the flask from earlier and secretly drank from it, feeling the alcohol slightly burn her throat.

"this years already going off to a great start." she told riven sarcastically.

he nodded, taking the flask from her and drinking some himself. "let's go somewhere else, this is barely a party." riven laughed.

"you were the one who said it was a party riv." she shook her head and him with a smile.

the two just walked around the school drinking and talking.

faye stopped walking suddenly. "riv?" faye asked.

riven hummed and looked at the girl.

"why did you stop talking to me when summer started?" she questioned, giving him a sad look.

the boy sighed. "i can't talk about it right now, faye."

"we used to be best friends then all of a sudden you stopped talking to me, i need an explanation riv, please." she begged, tears forming in her eyes. "you used to talk to me riv and now i get nothing."

"faye-" he started.

"no. i'm not finished. we were almost inseparable, you used to hang out with me almost more than sky." she laughed dryly. "you cannot just do that, not to me."

faye started to get stressed and grabbed the flask of riven drinking the rest of the contents.

"faye, i can't. i cant talk about this, not to you." he told her calmly. "i'm sorry."

faye sighed feeling the alcohol from earlier hitting her. "okay, riv."

"im sorry, faye." he told her, reaching for her hand, but quickly retracting.

"i'm gonna go back to the party, i'll see you late or something." she told him walking away from the boy and back to the party.

the party was more lively now, which meant more people probably have alcohol. she managed to find a boy who had some with him so she went over to him and spoke to him. he noticed her instantly.

"hey, you're faye right? silva's daughter?" he asked her.

"yeah i am." she smiled.

"well i'm blake, second-year specialist." he smiled back, his flask was in his hand so he lifted it and offered faye some.

faye took it of course and drank from the flask.

"didn't you get into a fight with maisie today?" blake asked her.

she sighed. "yes, but i'll just say now she was the one being a bitch for no reason." faye handed the flask back to him.

"keep it, i've had enough." he laughed.

"nice." faye giggles, drinking almost all of what was left in the flask.

"bad day, huh?" blake asked.

"oh no, i've had the best day of my entire life." she sarcastically laughed, finishing the flask and handing it back to the boy with a smile.

"you have a very nice smile, faye." he told her, gazing into her eyes.

"why thank you, blake as do you." she grinned playfully.

the two spoke for a while and got to know each other, just enjoying each other's company, and by now faye was quite drunk.

while blake and faye were speaking blake's eyes were looking past faye's head, and someone was coming toward them. faye noticed and looked behind her and saw riven.

"hey, faye." he spoke. "who's this?" he asked.

"this is blake." she answered. "blake this is riven."

riven nodded at him. "all right then." riven stared at the boy. "come on faye."

"why?" she asked raising her eyebrow at the boy.

"just come on, we are going." he told her sternly.

"no riv, i'm having fun with blake, he's nice." she rolled her eyes.

riven tried to quickly make up an excuse to get her away from blake. "it's uh sky."

"what? what happened?" she panicked.

"just come on." he replied, turning around and waiting for her to follow.

"blake i'll find you later, i'm sorry i really have to go." she quickly told him.

"don't worry faye, it's okay." he smiled.

faye caught up to riven. "so what's wrong with sky?"

"nothing, i just wanted you away from him." he turned to her with a straight face.

"riv! what the hell." she yelled. "are you fucking jealous or something?"

riven laughed loudly. "am i fuck, why would i be jealous?"

"you literally had to come up with an excuse so i wouldn't be with him. and you say you aren't jealous." she spoke dryly. "you're such an arsehole."

"i've heard things about him, faye. blake's not a nice guy." riven told her.

"bullshit! admit you're jealous riven, or will it destroy your stupidly big ego?" she teased.

"fuck off, faye." he snapped. "i'm trying to look out for you and you're being a bitch."

faye looked at him in shock. "go fuck yourself riven."

"i'll just go fuck all the girls that want me." he laughed dryly, walking away from the girl.

"where the fuck has my best friend gone!" she yelled at him. "prick!"

faye calmed herself down and decided she had enough of socialising and made her way back to her dorm, she missed riven, well the old riven. not the one who was a man-whore, the nice riven who was there whenever she needed him or was struggling.
