CLARA BOW sat on the large couch with her knees tucked to her chest, sweat pants and a hoodie drowning her in her sorrows as Brynn talked to her from the kitchen. She hadn't even listened to a word she said the last hour, she was just focusing on brushing Pailey's fur from her eyes every so often as the dog slept against her leg.

Her day had been going...bad.

No not bad just...not as planned.

One cancelled 'date', no pasta, and Brynn coddling her like she was some child. She wasn't hurt that Gracie had to cancel, or that it was even last minute, she was just disappointed because she was seriously looking forward to it all week. Even though she knew exactly why she had to cancel.

The only thing she could really focus on without spriralling was some movie Brynn had turned on still played on the tv. Clara's attention was barely on it but she had managed to pick up pieces of it that had just made her even more confused. It was a girl and some...fish...kissing?

"What the hell are you watching?" Clara Bow finally questioned, her brows furrowing in slight disturbance as the movie continued. "This is horrible."

"This won Best Picture in 2018," Brynn mused like that was supposed to change the fact that this girl was kissing a fish.

"Well they should take it back," she muttered quietly as Brynn finally walked back over to the couch, bowl's of ice cream in her hands before handing one to Clara Bow. Clara pulled her phone out, curiously searching something up as Brynn just shrugged.

"I don't know, it's not bad," she mused in slight enjoyment.

It was quiet for a few minutes as Brynn just ate her ice cream in content. Legs curled under on the couch as she rested against the old plush cushions with indents of their previous sitting arrangements.

"This won over Dunkirk?" Clara questioned suddenly, reading off her phone in disbelief. "Or literally any of these other movies. Ladybird? Call Me By Your Name?"

"Call Me By Your Name is weirder than this," Brynn defended, pointing to the screen quickly. "Isn't the kid like...17 or something sleeping with a 24 year old?"

"At least he's not sleeping with a fish!"

Brynn just shrugged again, turning back to her ice cream bowl as Clara scoffed lightly with a laugh. Paisley perked up slightly at the sound of Clara laughing, huffing when she realized it was nothing and dug her face into the cushion underneath her. Clara scratched behind her ear gently, hugging the ice cream bowl to her chest carefully.

She pet Paisley softly for a few minutes, watching as the deg stretched across the couch as her paws pushed against Brynn on the opposite side. Scratches had lulled the dog right back to sleep like she had never even woken up in the first place.

"You sure you're feeling okay?" There it was. The question Brynn had been waiting to ask all night.

"Yeah," Clara nodded, looking over at her for a glance before looking down as she brushed Paisley's ear down. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Well, I don't know," Brynn shrugged as she watched Clara gently. "I mean Gracie cancelled on you—"

Clara had to stop the roll of her eyes at the mention of her cancelling on her. She seriously wasn't hurt by it. "I'm okay, B," Clara reassured. "Seriously, I'm not hurt because she had to cancel. I don't care. Her managers messed up her schedule, I get it, it's not that big a deal."

"Really?" She asked skeptically. "The day you're supposed to hang out and she cancels? Haven't you been planning this for like two weeks?"

"Why are you more offended than I am?" Clara laughed shortly at Brynn's obvious disturbance.

"I'm just...looking out for you."

"Well you don't need too, I'm okay," she reassured one more time. "I promise."

"Swear?"

"Pinkie swear," Clara held her pinkie out to Brynn, smiling as Brynn wrapped her pinkie around her own. "There, now no more worrying about it."
