IT WAS A CLOUDY AND COLD DAY IN BRITAIN, for a change. linnea was sat in her living room with kayla and bruno. they were waiting for their other friends, who were already fifteen minutes late.

"what is taking them so long? don't they drive fast for a fucking living?" bruno questioned out loud as he groaned. "literally." mikayla sighed, bored.

"i'm gonna call kimi, they can't be taking this long." linnea decided, already looking for the italian boy in her contacts, thinking that her boyfriend might be the one driving.

the phone rung a few times before someone picked up, "hey linnie." the voice of paul aron answered. "paul—? you know what, whatever. what the fuck is taking you guys so long?" she cut herself off from asking why paul picked up instead of kimi himself.

"huh? i thought kimi said he texted you guys." the estonian boy answered on the other side of the line. "text us about what?" linnea asked, getting just a tiny bit annoyed at his stupid answer.

"the car broke down. i thought kimi said he texted you."

linnea groaned in response, "i'm going to stab that italian fuck one day." she jokingly said, "where are you guys at though?" she added, seeing if bruno and her dad couldn't just go pick them up.

"i don't know bruh, leave me alone. i've only been in this town once." paul said sassily. "get out of my face, just give the phone to ollie." she demanded, making paul laugh at the other end, "with pleasure. OLIVER!"

linnea chuckled as she heard a vague reply of 'WHAT?', "LIN'S ON THE PHONE!" she had absolutely no clue on why they were far away enough from each other that they had to yell. "okay he's coming over here." paul explained to the girl.

she had put the phone on speaker a while ago, letting bruno and kayla listen with her. she gave them a look that said '???', her two friends nodding in agreement.

"hi nea!" her boyfriends voice sounded a few seconds of silence later. "hi bear. so, uhm, what the fuck is happening? paul only said the car broke down." she asked with a tiny laugh.

"yeah i don't really know either, arthur was driving and suddenly the car just stops. all six of us, successful motorsport drivers, and not one of us knows how to fix this thing, can you believe that?"  his voice was a mixture of laughter and disbelief.

linnea laughed, "that doesn't surprise me at all for some weird reason." she mocked, immediately hearing her boyfriend groan on the other side of the phone.

"how far are you guys out? maybe we can come pick you up." the girl proposed. "yeah we're not that far away, i'll just call dad and let him deal with this because i honestly have no clue what the fuck is going on." ollie sighed, making linnea chuckle again.

"i'll send out dad and bruno on the rescue mission. we'll see you in a second." she hung up the phone after, "come on bruno, we're going to pick up some strays."

around fifteen minutes later, linnea, her father and bruno arrived at the spot ollie told them they'd be. the girl got out of her fathers car and greeted all of the guys, "you guys are the worst." she deadpanned, giving them an unimpressed look.

"it's not our fault arthur can't drive!" arvid protested, throwing his hands around. "hey! at least i can legally drive." arthur quipped back, his french accent prominent.

"just shut up and get in." linnea interrupted. they split up and finally went back home, making sure david was coming to pick up the car.

as the nine people entered the evermoore home, mikayla came running from the kitchen. "hi guys!" she said excitedly, giving every one of the boys a short hug.

a few hours later, the nine friends were chilling on the couches and on the floor, watching home alone a with stuffed bellies.

linnea was on the couch, cuddled up to her boyfriend who was combing his fingers through her hair absentmindedly. she was so content. she had a big group of the best friends, she had her family, she had her boyfriend. and koda of course!

the dog laid on the floor sleeping, next to where dino was sitting under a blanket.

normally, only ollie would sleepover during christmas, but this year some changes were made. all eight of linnea's friends could sleep over, some sleeping on the couches, some on air mattresses. they would make it work.

ollie and linnea had reserved her bed for themselves obviously. as much as she loved her friends being there, she did want some alone time with her boyfriend. it was their tradition after all.

when arthur, dino and gabriele had fallen asleep already, paul declared he was tired and that they should all go to bed. linnea had no protest at all to that, bidding everyone who was still awake, goodnight.

she and ollie made her way up the stairs, into her room. she crawled under her bed sheets in one quick motion before looking over to ollie and beckoning him to join her.

"c'mon, i'm tired bear." she mumbled, closing her eyes already. ollie smiled to himself before taking out his phone and snapping a quick picture before turning off the light and joining linnea on her bed.

it was comfortably quiet for a few minutes, both just enjoying each others presence. "you know, it's been a year since we met again." the boy whispered to her girlfriend. "yeah, i guess it has been... doesn't feel like it though, feels like you never left." linnea replied, her hand on his chest moving to draw shapes.

"i was really stupid for not reaching out to you earlier." ollie sighed, a faint smile on his lips. "yeah, i could've too. but i'm glad we ended up where we are now." the girl said, lifting her head up to look at him.

ollie smiled, leaning down to catch her lips with his in a short peck. "i love you." he reminded after he pulled back away from her. "i love you, goodnight bear." she smiled before putting her head back down on his chest.
