Sawyer in between Stiles and Scott in Gerard's office. He was slouched in his seat with his fingers drumming on his toned stomach as he tried not to narrow his gaze at the man who single handedly shopped the omega in half the night before. Gerard was just lucky that Allison was his friend and that he was able to control his shifts or that man's body would be in pieces all over the office.
"Scott McCall," Gerard said in his gravely deep voice, leaning back in his chair as he looked over Scott's file. "Academically not the most accomplished, but I see you have become quite the star athlete."
Sawyer shrank even lower in his seat when Gerard moved on to his file next and looked directly at him. He felt Stiles' foot nudge gently against his when he noticed the way Sawyer's hands absentmindedly clenched into fists. He didn't want this guy knowing anything about him and now he was their principal. He'd never be able to shake this guy. His eyes flickered over to Stiles for a brief moment who shot him a small smile.
"Mr. Bowen, much like Mr. McCall here, not academically the most accomplished. Getting just high enough grades to stay on the lacrosse team. Gotten into your fair share of mischief in the school, one of them being a fight with Mr. Whittemore who was just in here with your brother, Devin. The school's bad boy as everyone describes you."
Sawyer beamed cockily at Gerard and held his hands out to the sides in a sort of shrug. "What can I say? I like to live life on the edge, Mr. Argent."
The answer seemed to satisfy Gerard enough and he placed his file down on top of Scott's before he picked up Stiles' last. "Mr. Stilinski. Oh, perfect grades but little to no extracurriculars. Maybe you should try lacrosse."
Sawyer rolled his lips into his mouth to hide the smirk that fought its way out. He chuckled to himself when Stiles' foot kicked his a little too hard in the ankle. Not that the pain lasted long since his werewolf healing kicked in almost instantly and he only felt the sting for a second.
"McCall . . . " Gerard trailed off, his head tilting in thought as his gaze drifted back over to Scott. "You're the Scott that was dating my granddaughter."
Scott tensed slightly at the mention of Allison and Sawyer could hear his heart rate rise the slightest bit. "We were dating but not anymore. Not dating, not seeing any of each other or doing anything with each other . . . at all."
"Smooth, McCall," Sawyer mumbled to himself, groaning quietly when Scott punched him in the arm and purposely used his werewolf strength.
"Relax, Scott, you look like you're about to crack a cyanide pill with your teeth and break your best friend's arm off," Gerard teased Scott, trying to lighten the very tense mood in the room.
"Just a hard breakup," Scott lied swiftly, relaxing a bit in his chair since Gerard wasn't a threat to him or Sawyer right then. Outside of school would be a different story, but that didn't mean Sawyer would be putting his guard down any time soon around this guy. He didn't trust him as far as he could throw him and Sawyer would like to think he could throw the old guy pretty damn far.
"Oh, that's too bad. You seem like a pretty nice kid to me," Gerard responded and Sawyer held back the bark of laughter that wanted to escape. He wouldn't be saying that if he knew what his daughter's "ex"-boyfriend was on a full moon. "Now listen, guys. Yes, I am the principal, but I really don't want you to think of me as the enemy."
Sawyer scoffed to himself and picked at the skin around his thumb. "Could have fooled me."
Thankfully, Sawyer had said the comment low enough for only Stiles and Scott to hear because Gerard didn't make any sort of reaction to Sawyer's comment. "However, this being my first day, I do need to support my teachers. So unfortunately someone is going to have to take the fall and stay behind for detention.
Sawyer and Scott both instantly glanced over to Stiles since they both needed to be free in the outside with them being the only two werewolves that the other could trust right now. However, if Scott and Sawyer were going to help out Isaac before he could get put in a jail cell over night, then they would need to do it together. Two werewolf heads were better one and they could figure something out once they left Gerard's office.
Stiles, who had been playing with the key in his hand, looked up when he felt all three pairs of eyes on him. He bounced between his two best friends and the new threat that loomed over Scott and Sawyer's heads. The expectant looks on all their faces were a sign to him that they all expected him to accept the detention instead of Sawyer and Scott.
Stiles shot his two best friends an exasperated look, throwing his head back in annoyance. "Ugh, fine. I'll do it."
Sawyer beamed and rubbed the top of the buzzcut teen's head. "Aw, you're just the best, Stilinski."
"Screw off, Saw."

When Scott and Sawyer had rushed out of the school after speaking to Gerard, they had frozen at the top of the school steps to see Isaac in the back of Noah's squad car. He and Devin were in the front as they discussed something and Isaac stared out the back window to the two teen wolves behind him. Sawyer frowned at the frightened look on Isaac's face, knowing he was worried about the full moon that was coming out tonight. Derek being decent for once in his life and actually telling him all about the full moon and its effects on newer wolves who couldn't control the shift.
Derek had showed up not too long after Noah had pulled away and all but kidnapped Scott and Sawyer to help him search through Isaac's house. Apparently, there was some stuff at the house that was a lot worse than whatever Isaac had told the cops. Sawyer wanted to assume Derek was referring to how Isaac had been beat by his father on a daily basis and Isaac didn't say a single thing to anyone.
Asshole.
So now Sawyer stood in the foyer of Isaac's darkened house with Scott and Derek, scanning the small area around him. He clutched onto the flashlight in his hand as he shined and glanced over his shoulder at Derek. "So, if Isaac didn't kill his father, then who do you think did?"
"I don't know yet," Derek replied quietly, leading the way through the house with the two teen wolves following after him.
"Then how do you know he's innocent?" Scott countered.
"Because I trust my senses and it's a combination of them. Not just your sense of smell," Derek said, stopping in the middle of the darkened hallway and smirking at Scott.
Scott sheepishly smiled and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "You . . . uh . . . you saw the lacrosse thing today, huh?"
"Yeah."
"Did it look that bad?"
"Scott, I felt physical pain watching you do that," Sawyer spoke up, earning Derek and Scott's attention. He grimaced at the memory of his best friend single handedly embarrassing himself in front of all the boys on the team that day.
The three wolves made their way through the rest of the house until Derek stopped in front of a white door that would lead to the basement. He opened the door and Sawyer recoiled slightly at the strong stench of dust, grime and . . . was that . . . blood? The Bowen boy shuddered at the thought and peeked down into the darkened space with Scott.
"You two want to learn? Let's start now."
"What's down there?" Scott asked, taking the initiative to start down the steps first and Sawyer followed closely behind him with his flashlight being their extra source of sight besides their wolf sight. "What are we even looking for?"
"Follow your senses."
Sawyer stepped down into the basement and scanned the medium sized space. Miscellaneous items and furniture littered the cemented floor. A few random creepy looking dolls sat on top of various chairs and dressers that lined the sides of the basement. Sawyer felt a cold chill go down his spine at a certain doll that was missing an eye and smiled creepily up at him from where it sat on the chair. He kicked the side of the chair with the tip of his Vans and made the doll face forward so it wasn't staring at him any longer.
Scott rose an amused eyebrow at his best friend who looked more than freaked out over the whole doll thing. He laughed quietly when Sawyer pushed his shoulder as he passed him by and stopped next to a white ice box with a lock on the lid to keep it from opening. Sharing a look with Scott, the Bowen boy slowly removed the lock from the lid and jumped when Derek suddenly appeared at his and Scott's sides with his flashlight switched on.
"Open it."
Sawyer furrowed his eyebrows, but relented and slowly opened up the ice box lid to see multiple scratch marks littered the inside. Some were darker marks than other to show that Isaac must have clawed especially hard as he got more frantic and desperate to get out of the locked ice box. There marks were darker on the lid of the ice box and Sawyer gently ran his fingertips along the marks, feeling his heart weight heavy in his chest. No kid should have to go through the abuse that Isaac clearly had with his father.
"This is why he said yes to you," Sawyer noted, dropping his hand back to his side and turning to Derek.
"Everyone wants power."
Scott was quiet for a long moment, his mind clearly somewhere else as he tried to weigh all their options. They needed more hands on deck than just him, Sawyer, Stiles and Allison, especially they were going to try and help Isaac. Plus with the new added threat of Gerard, they needed to be on the same side for this or none of them would survive. "If Sawyer and I help you, then you have to stop. You can't just go around turning people into werewolves."
Derek gave Scott an odd look and crossed his arms. "I can if they're willing, Scott. I give them option, you know. I told Isaac everything that he would face if I bit him, he still wanted it."
"Then he's an idiot!" Scott exclaimed.
"And you're the idiot that's still dating Argent's daughter," Derek quipped and smirked at Scott's shocked reaction. "I know your little secret, McCall. If I know, how long do you think it would be before they do? You saw what happens to an omega." He placed a hand on both Sawyer and Scott's shoulder, the Bowen boy eyeing Derek's hand distastefully. He'll have to remember to wash that shoulder later. "With me, you both can learn how to use all of your senses. With me, you learn control. Even on a full moon."
Scott snatched his wrist out of Derek's when the alpha had brought up Scott's hand to show the boy was already shifting. "If I go with you, I'll lose her."
Sawyer had absentmindedly glanced down to his own hands and noticed that he was still perfectly fine. He barely even felt the tug of the moon at this point. There was a small tingling in the pit of his stomach that he had connected with a shift wanting to surface, but he didn't feel anything. Not heightened anger. Not heightened emotions. Nothing. It was almost like it was any other night and he vaguely thought back to Stiles, the feeling softening even more in his stomach.
What the hell?
"Wait!" Scott yelled, snapping Sawyer out of his deep thoughts and towards the two. He hadn't even realized that Derek had began to move away from him and Scott, too lost in his own world. Seriously, what the hell was happening to him? "Sawyer and I won't be part of your pack, but we both want Isaac out. I feel like he's my responsibility, too."
"Why? Because one of us?"
A look that Sawyer couldn't read flashed across Scott's face as the teen boy slowly raised his head to meet with Derek's gaze. "Because he's innocent."

Sawyer sat in the back of Stiles' Jeep for the first time in his life as Derek had all but shoved him in the back and took Sawyer's usual rightful space next to Stiles. The Bowen boy had yelped and glared darkly at back of Derek's head as Stiles drove through darkened roads to get them to the sheriff station so they could get Isaac broken out. Derek had been surprised that Sawyer was handling the full moon so well and the second that Stiles showed up in Roscoe, Sawyer wore his heart rate evened out and a warm feeling spread through him. It was a reaction to the buzzcut haired boy that Sawyer had never experienced before and he wasn't exactly sure how he felt about it yet.
Sure, Sawyer had feelings for the spastic Stilinski boy and Scott made sure to constantly tease Sawyer about it any chance he got. The McCall just wanted his two best friends to admit to their obvious attractions towards each other and get it over with already. However, Sawyer wasn't exactly sure yet that Stiles was even into boys. His obsession over Lydia had suddenly stopped around their first day of school and the time that Sawyer had gotten bit, but the boy could have just gotten used to the fact that Lydia would only ever want Jackson. It didn't mean that his best friend was gay or that he was even into Sawyer.
Right?
Sawyer glanced into the window of the station to see night shift deputy by the coffee machine, pouring herself a mug to keep her energy up for the long shift ahead of her. He couldn't hear Noah or Devin's voices inside so Sawyer momentarily wondered if they had both gone on a patrol, leaving behind the two or three deputies that usually worked the over night shifts. Or the grave yard shift as many of them liked to call it since it was dead the whole time and they didn't really do much.
"Okay, now the keys to every cell are in a password protected lockbox in my father's office. The problem is getting past the front desk," Stiles informed Derek, bringing Sawyer's attention back inside the Jeep.
"I'll distract her."
Sawyer barked out a laugh and slapped a hand on Derek's shoulder, pulling him back before he get out of the Jeep. "Whoa, whoa, whoa - you? You can't go in there, Derek. You're still a person of interest."
Derek glanced from Sawyer's hand on his leather jacket and over to the Bowen boy who didn't even flinch at the alpha's dark look. He wrapped his hand around Sawyer's hand and removed it from his shoulder, looking between both Sawyer and Stiles who were clearly thinking the same thing. "I'm an innocent person."
Stiles was the one to laugh in amusement this time and nodded sarcastically at Derek. "Right, you? Okay . . . sure. What's your plan anyway?"
"To distract her?"
"Uh - huh, but how? By punching her in the face?" Stiles remarked, baring his teeth at the alpha and punching the area in between him and Derek.
Sawyer slapped a hand to his face with a low groan, second guessing his life choices in falling for the idiot in the driver's seat. He sure knew how to pick 'em, huh? "For the love of God, please stop talking."
Derek didn't seem amused by Stiles in the least bit as he faked a laugh at him. "Ha . . . by talking to her, dumbass."
"Give me a sample then, yeah? What are you gonna open up with?" Stiles asked, leaning his cheek on his hand as his elbow rested on the wheel. His face slowly dropped when Derek just stared at the Stilinski boy, not saying a word. "Dead silence. Wow, you really know how to reel in the ladies, don't you? Any other ideas?"
Derek tilted his head from side to side as he pretended to weigh all his options. "How about I punch you in the face?"
Sawyer poked his head into the front and shot Derek a threatening grin. "You touch one hair on his head and I'll make Satan look like an angel."
"Uh, Saw, Lucifer is technically still - "
"Shut up, I'm trying to help you," Sawyer grit through his teeth to Stiles, still keeping his smile on his face to show Derek he wasn't kidding.
The Jeep was thrusted into silence for a long moment before Derek merely rolled his eyes and pushed himself out of the Jeep. Stiles and Sawyer exchanged triumphant grins before they were both out of the Jeep with Derek and hidden behind the front door to the sheriff's station. The two boys poked their heads when they heard Derek start to talk to the woman at the front desk, rolling their eyes at the charming smile he shot the female who quickly fixed her appearance.
Once Derek really had the female deputy going, Sawyer pushed at Stiles' back to start creeping his way towards the back where Noah's office was. They had both gotten lucky that the other deputies were nowhere in sight and the two boys were able to slip into Noah's office undetected. Sawyer stood watch near the door while Stiles fumbled with the password box behind Noah's desk, cursing to himself once he got it open.
"Stiles, what?" Sawyer whispered from his spot near the door just in case another deputy was in the vicinity and could hear them. "What's wrong?"
"They took the key," Stiles responded frantically, placing the lid back on the password box and tugging Sawyer out of the office by his hand. The Bowen boy was just glad that Scott wasn't there to hear how his heart skipped a beat at Stiles' hand gripped in his.
Sawyer and Stiles rounded a corner and nearly barreled into a deputy who limped slightly, grimacing a bit in pain. The scent of blood was strong on him and Sawyer slowly glanced down to see a snapped in half arrow sticking out of his still bleeding leg. His eyes widened as he realized this was the man that was sent to kill Isaac. Stiles had mentioned to him and Derek in the car about how Allison mentioned seeing one of her father's hunter buddies leaving the house dressed in a deputy's costume and she'd follow him to slow him down.
Guess Sawyer and Stiles just found Isaac's hit man.
"Oh, shit . . . " Sawyer mumbled, quickly back pedaling towards the double front doors where Sawyer could still hear Derek flirt with the receptionist.
Before Sawyer and Stiles could get too far, the hunter grabbed the two from behind and hauled them back towards the lock up room where Isaac was being kept. He made sure to keep his hand around both of their mouths and Sawyer tried to fight the best he could without actually using his wolf powers. If he were to over power this guy who was obviously stronger than him, he'd be exposed and they couldn't have this random hunter know about his and Scott's secret.
Chris made sure to keep it hidden from all his hunting buddies so long as Scott and Sawyer promised not to do anything stupid. Not like either one of the boys would do anything stupid to get themselves killed. Sawyer, of course, would be doing stupid shit but not to the point it'll send Chris on his ass. Just enough to get him in his usual innocent rebellious trouble with his brother.
Stiles thought quick on his feet and pulled the fire alarm as he and Sawyer were pulled past it and they were both dropped unceremoniously when they reached the back lock up room. Sawyer and Stiles lifted their heads towards the holding cell room and gaped at the broken open door that hung by a thread on its hinges. Before they could question where Isaac could be, the hunter was attacked from the side and lifted into the air and then slammed onto the small desk in the corner of the room.
The hunter was then lifted again and Isaac roared, shoving him up against the wall on the other side of the room. He grabbed the hunter's wrist when he tried to raise a syringe to stab into Isaac's neck, pressing it up against the wall and snapping his wrist so he dropped the syringe with a howl of pain. Isaac then grabbed the top of the hunter's hair and slammed his head back against the wall, knocking him out as he dropped him unceremoniously to the ground.
Sawyer stomped on the syringe while Stiles had scrambled away and into the corner of the room since he didn't have the healing capabilities Sawyer did. If Sawyer got swiped at by Isaac, he'd heal in ten minutes and if Stiles got swiped at, he'd be on his way to a hospital room. He glanced over his shoulder to the frightened Stilinski who cowered away in the corner and offered him a reassuring smile. The look alone instantly dropped Stiles' erratic heart rate back to a steady rhythm and the two startled when Derek suddenly appeared in the room after hearing the commotion and Isaac's roars.
Derek and Sawyer noticed the way that Isaac slowly turned towards Stiles, an animalistic look in his eyes as a low growl rumbled in the back of his threat. It was obvious he was about to attack Stiles next, but Derek stepped in and roared loudly with his red alpha eyes flashing. The sound was enough to make even Sawyer stumble away from him and toppling on top of Stiles' lap who groaned at the contact.
Isaac let out a whimper and scurried away from Derek, huddling next to the hunter who he had knocked out. He hid his face in his arms for a moment, his whole body shaking in fear at the alpha's thunderous roar. He slowly lifted his head to reveal he had shifted back and his face drenched in a cold sweat, staring up at Derek with fear in his eyes.
"How did you do that?" Stiles breathed in amazement, his eyes flickering from Isaac and over to Derek.
Derek glanced over his shoulder and sent the two boys who were still in each other's lap his famous smirk. "Because I'm the alpha."
Without another look at the two teens, Derek helped Isaac to his feet and was out of the sheriff's station quicker than Stiles and Sawyer could blink. Sawyer grunted as he fumbled to get to his feet, feeling Stiles push at his lower back to help him up. He huffed as he flattened out his shirt and helped Stiles to his feet, patting him on the shoulder as he did so.
"What do we do with him?" Sawyer questioned, walking over to the knocked out hunter and placing his hands on his hips. "Derek left us to clean up his mess as usual."
Stiles opened his mouth to respond when the fire alarm was suddenly switched off and the two boys slowly turned to see Noah, Devin and another deputy stood in the archway to the lock up area. Noah and Devin exchanged a look with each other, not at all surprised to see that it would be Stiles and Sawyer stood with a knocked out deputy. Not that Noah could know that the knocked out deputy was actually a wolf hunter and was there to kill Isaac.
Sawyer offered his brother an innocent grin and rocked back on his heel, waving to Devin and Noah who both shot him deadpan expressions. "Hey, fellas! Lovely night we having, huh?"
Stiles glanced at the knocked out hunter and back over to Noah and Devin who still hadn't said a word, vaguely motioning to said hunter. "Uh, he did it."
Sawyer slowly lowered his hand when he earned an eye roll from the two older men before him, mumbling a quiet okay as he scratched the back of his neck.
Yep, they were screwed.
