EVERYONE STOOD UP from their seats as the jet landed at the airport. No one spoke much on the way there seen as everyone was too caught up in their own thoughts. There was no doubt that this would end in a fight, this situation was way too far gone for both sides to talk it out. And Carson knew that. He knew that this was going to be the last straw in the fall of the Avengers, that this family, his family, would never be the same after this.
He watched as the door at the back of the jet opened and began walking down the ramp, turning his head to the side when he heard the clunking of metal footsteps beside him.
"You alright bud?" Tony asked and Carson nodded in response, slotting one of his knives into the holder on his belt. "Look, I know this isn't ideal and this whole thing was sprung on you. But I just wanted... to say thank you."
"Thank you?" Carson gave Tony a confused look.
"Thank you for sticking by me, because if I didn't have you on my side then... then this would be a lot harder." Tony admitted. "I just-- I know they're your family too and I'm sorry that you have to go through this."
Carson was taken back by Tony's words, it was rare that he'd be this mature and serious. But it was true, Carson was like a son to Tony so if he wasn't on his side then it would've destroyed him. He looked at Tony, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Well of course I'm going to stick with you." He smirked. "Without me you'd be helpless."
Tony laughed and shook his head. "You got that right."
Rhodey walked over to the pair, giving them both a look to silently apologise for interrupting their conversation as he joined them. "We've picked up Rogers making his way into the airport. No one else has been spotted in the open yet."
"Alright." Tony clapped his hands together and looked around at everyone. "Carson you're with me. Romanoff, Rhodes, Parker, Vision, you remember what to do?"
Everyone nodded and began making their way to their places. Except from Peter, who was looking around mumbling something under his breath. Tony and Carson both noticed and Tony nodded for Carson to keep on moving, Tony made his way over to Peter.
"Everything alright?" Tony questioned. "Listen, if this is too much for you then it's alright to—"
"No! No, no, no." Peter blurted out. "I— I need a minute to think, y'know? This is... a lot. I mean, I'm fighting alongside the Avengers! Wait.. does this make me an Avenger?" The boy rambled on.
"Uh no, not quite."
"Oh." Peter replied awkwardly. "Well, do you have any tips?"
"Uh." Tony scratched the back of his head in thought. "Just keep your distance and web em' up."
"Alright, got it." Peter began shaking out his arms as he prepared himself.
"Oh and one more thing." Tony continued. "Stay away from the girl with the red... wiggly woos."
"Is she one of the ones with powers? Mr. Stark I promise you I can handle—"
"No, no, you can't." Tony interrupted, shaking his head to put emphasis on how much Peter needed to stay away. "It's not just that, if you touch the girl or harm her in any way, then Carson will most likely hurt you. A lot. And if he isn't around to hurt you then she will. Also a lot."
"But.. isn't Carson on our team?"
"It doesn't matter. Just make sure you steer clear, capeesh?"
Peter nodded his head slowly as he took in the information Tony was giving him. "I got it. I won't let you down Mr. Stark."
"Good." Tony gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Now get into position and wait for my signal."

TONY AND CARSON landed in front of the helicopter Steve was running towards, making the super soldier stop in his tracks. Carson looked at the helicopter from over his shoulder and curled his hand into a first, making his energy travel over to the choppers control panel and crush it within seconds.
"Wow, it's so weird how you run into people at the airport." Tony started while removing the mask of his suit and turning to look at Carson. "Don't you think that's weird?"
"Yup, definitely weird." Carson replied and looked towards Steve. "Old man." He greeted.
"Carson." A brief smile crossed over Steve's lips and he gave him a nod before turning his attention back to Tony. "I need you to hear me out. That doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all of this."
"Doctor? What doctor?" Carson looked between the two men.
"His name is—"
Before Steve could continue, T'challa leaped over one of the parked conveyor belts and landed opposite Tony and Carson, instantly staring Steve down.
"Captain."
"Your highness."
Carson furrowed his brows and looked at Tony. "Your highness?"
"Yeah... I'll explain later." Tony shrugged and walked over to the other side of Carson as he addressed Steve once more. "Anyway, Ross gave me thirty-six hours to bring you in and that was twenty-four hours ago. Can you help a brother out?"
"You're after the wrong guy." Steve shook his head.
"Your judgement is askew." Tony clenched his jaw. "Your old war buddy killed innocent people yesterday."
"And there are five more super soldiers just like him." Steve informed them all. "I cant let the doctor find them first Tony, I can't.
"Steve..." Natasha joined the group, her face filled with desperation. She didn't want to fight Steve, but she would if she had to. "You know what's about to happen. Do you really wanna punch your way out of this one?"
Steve sighed in response and looked back over to Tony, still not showing any signs of him backing down.
"Alright, I've run out of patience." Tony lifted his hands up to his face and called out. "Underoos!"
Steve's shield was ripped from his hand by one of Peter's webs, followed by his hands being tied together as the teenager flipped over him. He landed on one of the boxes next to Carson and Tony with the shield in his hand, the eyes on his suit narrowing as he looked at everyone.
"Nice job Pete." Carson said.
"Thanks!" He beamed. "Well I could've stuck the landing a little better, it's just the new suit—" Peter stopped rambling as he looked over at Tony. "It's nothing Mr. Stark, it's perfect thank you."
"Yeah we don't really... need to start a conversation." Tony raised his hand, interrupting him.
"Okay." Peter turned back to look at Steve and saluted him. "Cap— Captain. Big fan, I'm spider-man."
"Yeah, we'll talk about it later." Tony huffed. "Just... good job."
Peter looked around at the others and gave an awkward wave. "Hey everyone."
"You've been busy." Steve smirked.
"And you've been a complete idiot!" Tony raised his voice slightly. "Dragging in Clint... rescuing Wanda from a place she doesn't even want to leave, a safe place!"
Carson looked down at the ground and scratched the back of his head, he'd almost forgot that Tony still didn't know that it was him that let Wanda leave.
"I'm trying to keep..." Tony faltered and took a breath before continuing. "I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart."
"You did that when you signed."
Tony looked at Steve in disbelief and shook his head. "Alright, we're done. You're gonna turn Barnes over and you're gonna come with us, now! Because it's us! Or a squad of J-SOC guys with no compunction of being impolite." He paused and looked at Steve. "Come on..."
"We found it." Carson's hearing picked up Sam's voice coming from Steve's comms. "The quinjet's in hangar five, north runway."
"Great." Carson mumbled under his breath, knowing that things were about to get worse.
Steve lifted up his arms and the webs that were keeping his hands tied together were cut by an arrow that came from behind Tony and Carson, Clint's arrow. Tony's mask formed around his face again as he looked behind him, looking for which building the arrow came from.
"Alright Lang." Steve spoke.
Peter looked at Steve's shield and tilted his head as he noticed something moving on it. "Hey guys... I think there's—"
Peter was interrupted by Scott returning to his normal size and pulling and shield from his grip, kicking him in the face as he flipped backwards and landed next to Steve.
"I believe this is yours Captain America." He said while passing the shield over.
"What the actual fuck..." Carson muttered under his breath.
"I got two in the parking deck, I'm gonna go grab them." Tony began hovering in the air. "Rhodey, you wanna take cap?" He suggested before flying off.
"Will do. Got two in the terminal though." Rhodey informed.
"On it." Carson said before running towards the location and leaving the group.
"Mr. Stark, what should I do?" Peter spoke into the comms.
"What we discussed. Keep your distance, web them up." Tony replied. "Just, go to the terminal with Carson."
"Okay, copy that."
~~ ᗢ ~~
PETER LANDED on the window of the terminal and began crawling along it, looking for a way in while Carson was already inside and had his sights on Sam and Bucky, unbeknownst to them.
"What the hell is that?" Bucky scrunched up his face as he looked at Peter on the other side of the window.
"Everyone's got a gimmick now." Sam rolled his eyes.
Peter pushed himself off the window and used his webs to hold onto a part of the building, pulling him back over to the window and smashing through it, kicking Sam away as he landed.
While Peter's back was turned, Bucky started to swing for him with his metal arm, only to be stopped by Carson who grabbed his fist and began pushing it backwards.
"James." He greeted.
Bucky's eyes widened when he realised who was in front of him. "Carson?"
Peter joined Carson's side and looked at Bucky's arm. "Woah! You have a metal arm, that's awesome dude—"
Sam flew towards Peter and grabbed him, taking him up into the air. After a few moments, Peter managed to kick his way out of Sam's grip and began swinging after him once he had regained his balance.
"You have the right to remain silent!" The boy shouted as he chased after him.
"How old is he?" Bucky turned to look at Carson.
"A little on the young side." Carson shrugged.
The pair both looked at each other and it seemed to click at the same time that they were in fact, on opposing teams. Bucky hesitated for a moment but swung at Carson, who ducked and dodged his punch before sending a kick to his gut which made him stumble backwards.
"Still using the same moves I see." Carson chuckled.
"It's my dominant arm, okay?" Bucky huffed.
~~ ᗢ ~~
AS SOON AS TONY had spotted Wanda and Clint he fired all around them so that they would stop, making sure to not actually hit them. He flew towards the parking deck and came to a stop once he reached them, hovering above them.
"Wanda, I think you hurt Carson's feelings." Tony said while raising up his arm and aiming at the pair, in case they tried anything.
"You locked me in my room." Wanda stepped forward.
"Okay, first, that's an exaggeration. Second, I did it to protect you."
Wanda glared at Tony and narrowed her eyes, tilting her head as she stared him down. Tony cleared his throat and turned his attention towards Barton.
"Hey Clint."
"Hey man."
"Clearly, retirement doesn't suit you." Tony remarked. "You got tired of shooting golf?"
"Well, I played 18, shot 18." Clint shrugged. "Just can't seem to miss."
Clint shot multiple arrows towards Tony who quickly turned around, firing his repulsors at them which instantly destroyed the arrows.
Tony looked back at the two. "Well, first time for everything."
Clint smirked. "Made you look."
Suddenly, cars from the parking building came flying out from different levels and all aimed towards Tony. Thanks to Wanda who was relentlessly pulling more and more out by the second, clearly showing no signs of stopping until Tony was down. After a few moments of trying to dodge the many cars that was being sent his way, once came flying right at his face catching him of guard and sent him crashing to the ground, allowing Wanda to pile more cars on top of him which rendered him trapped.
"Multiple contusions detected." FRIDAY informed him.
"Yep." Tony groaned. "I detected that too."
"Come on, let's go." Clint said as he began walking away.
As Wanda turned around to follow, her eyes travelled over to one of the terminals, seeing nothing but absolute chaos going on inside. She saw a boy in a red bodysuit swinging around, with what looked like webs which confused her even more, attacking Sam who was dodging out of the way as he flew around.
Then she noticed Bucky fighting with someone, wincing slightly as she watched him get thrown against the glass. Although the person Bucky was fighting was out of view, she knew exactly who it was. She could feel that unexplainable feeling in her mind, telling her that it was Carson that was near.
"Wanda!" Clint called out. "Let's go!"
"I uh..." She cleared her throat and began slowly walking backwards towards the terminal. "I'm gonna go this way." She pointed behind her.
"What?" Clint furrowed his brows. "Do you want me to—"
"Nope!" Wanda said over her shoulder as she ran towards the terminal. "I'll catch up with you later, bye!"
~~ ᗢ ~~
Sam flew towards Peter and kicked him making him lose his balance and fall from the beam on the ceiling that he had perched himself on. He recovered quickly and pulled himself up with one of his webs as he flipped in the air. Once he had a clear shot, he fired a web at Sam's wings. Without having any time to fix it, his wings malfunctioned and shut down, sending him crashing through one of the phone stands in the terminal.
Sam quickly got up but Peter landed in front of him and webbed his hands down to the railing behind him, keeping him stuck in place.
"Those wings carbon fibre?" Peter asked, genuinely curious.
Sam looked down at his hands and scrunched up his face. "Is this stuff coming out of you?"
"That would explain the rigidity-flexibility ratio, which, gotta say, that's awesome man." Peter continued.
"I don't know if you've been in a fight before... but there's usually not this much talking."
"Alright, sorry, my bad."
Bucky glanced to the side and watched as Peter attached another web to the ceiling and began swinging on it, aiming towards Sam. He quickly dodged Carson's attack and managed to land a punch with his metal arm against his face, making Carson stumble backwards.
This gave him enough time to run towards Sam and jump in front of him, although it didn't exactly go the way he planned. Instead, both of them crashed through the railing and landed side by side harshly on the floor.
Peter wasted no time in webbing them both up so they couldn't move. "Guys, look, I'd love to keep this up, but I've only got one job here today... and I gotta impress Mr. Stark so, I'm really sorry."
As Peter raised his arm once more, Redwing flew past him and attached a line to his arm. Sam moved his finger around on his control pad and pulled Peter through the window, letting him go and dropping him on the ground.
"You couldn't of done that earlier?" Bucky complained.
"I hate you."
"Well," Carson said from the upper level, leaning on what was left of the railing while he looked down at Bucky and Sam. "This looks fun."
"Are you gonna help or?" Bucky asked.
"I don't know." Carson tried to stifle a laugh as he watched Sam wriggle around.
"Come on, Carson." Sam huffed. "We're still friends right?"
"Of course we're still friends birdy." He shrugged. "But—"
"No. No buts."
"I've gotta go retrieve the child you just threw out the window soooo..." Carson began walking towards the hole in the window where Peter was launched out of. "Good luck though." He saluted before jumping out of the window, landing on the ground below with no trouble.
"Oh come on!" He heard Sam shout making him chuckle.
Carson looked around but saw no sign of Peter, he brushed it off at first just thinking that he'd continued fighting somewhere else but the swift movement's of something red in the corner of his eye caught his attention, noticing Peter running towards him but stopping all of a sudden.
He watched as Peter's eyes on his suit widened while he looked at something behind Carson. And he could've sworn he heard him mutter something about 'Red wiggly-woos' under his breath, whatever the hell that was about.
Peter cleared his throat and turned around, running off in the other direction. Carson furrowed his brows and began walking after him but after taking only a few steps his feet were pulled from underneath him.
"What the..." He turned over and tried to stand up but noticed his feet were tied together, surrounded by red wisps.
"Hi."
Wanda.
He looked up to see Wanda walking over to him, a smirk forming on her face as she looked at her energy around his ankles. He pushed his tongue against his cheek and shook his head, lying back and propping himself up with his elbows.
"Was this really necessary?" He raised a brow.
"I guess not." Wanda giggled and crouched down next to him, running her hand through his hair. "But it's quite funny watching you squirm."
"Oh is it now?"
Wanda nodded and did a one over of Carson, that wasn't very subtle by the way, noticing the change of suit. "New suit?" She asked, tracing her fingers down his arms as she looked back up at him.
"Yup." He replied popping the P. "Why, you like it?"
"Mhm." Wanda hummed in response leaning forward to kiss him, Carson sat up slightly and moved his hand to the back of her neck, pulling her closer making Wanda smile against his lips.
It's not like they were in the middle of a huge fight or anything...
"Has anybody seen Wanda?" Steve's voice was heard through Wanda's comms, making the pair break apart.
Wanda sighed and pressed her finger to the device in her ear. "I'm coming, I'm coming." She glanced down at her red wisps that were still around Carson's ankles. "You still love me right?"
"Always." He smiled. "But, I'd love you even more if you'd, you know, actually let me move."
Wanda kissed his cheek before standing up and slowly walking backwards with a mischievous grin on her face. Carson's jaw dropped slightly when he realised that she was going to leave him like that which only made Wanda's grin grow more.
"Oh so it's like that, huh?" He raised a brow, trying to hide his smile.
"Yep. It's exactly, like that." Wanda chuckled and turned around, running off to join the others.
