NATASHA DODGED the punch that Carson sent her way and grabbed his fist to keep his arm still while she head butted him, sending him stumbling backwards a little on the mat.
He shook his head and let out a chuckle as he got himself back into his fighting stance, preparing for whatever the Nat had in store next for him.
Natasha grabbed one of her electric batons and lunged towards him, smirking when she saw his facial reaction once he had realised what she was using to try and hit him with.
"Ah, ah, ah, Romanoff." He said while dodging her attacks. "What happened to no weapons, huh?"
"You have to be prepared for anything." Natasha replied, landing a jab in his side which gave him a small shock.
Natasha swung at him once more as he was recovering from the last hit, but this time he was prepared. Just as the baton was about to make contact with the top of his shoulder, he grabbed hold of Natasha's arm and kept her from being able to push the baton down any further.
"You sure you're not just scared I'll beat you?" He teased as he slowly pushed Natasha's arm back so that the baton was now aiming towards her.
She playfully rolled her eyes and moved her head backwards to make sure the baton wouldn't touch her. "Don't flatter yourself, Swan."
Natasha landed a strong kick to Carson's gut and grabbed hold of the baton again as he released his grip on it. She moved forwards to hit him in the stomach but he clenched his hand into a fist, his energy surrounding the weapon and crushing it.
Natasha threw the now broken baton to the side and looked over at Carson giving him a 'Really?' look, but he just rubbed his lips together in amusement trying to stifle a laugh.
"I said no powers." Natasha raised a brow.
"Y'know, a wise woman once told me... you have to be prepared for anything." He smirked as he repeated Natasha's words.
Carson made his next move, pretending to aim for Natasha's arms when really, he targeted her legs. He swiped her legs from underneath her which sent her landing on her back on the mat. He walked over to the red head and crouched down next to her, tilting his head as he looked down at her.
"I win."
Natasha smirked and kicked Carson in the shoulder making him lose his balance so he was now the one who was laying on their back. Before he had the chance to get up and recover, she quickly straddled him and grabbed one of her combat knives from the pouch on her belt, holding it up to his neck.
"No, I win." She smiled smugly.
"Jesus Nat." He chuckled then lifted his hand up towards the knife and slowly pushed it away with his finger. "At least take me to dinner first."
Natasha laughed and rolled from off him, extending her hand to help him up once she had gotten back to her feet. He took her hand and stood up then walked over to the bench where his things were placed down on, picking his phone up first to see if he had received any updates from Wanda.
Wanda: I'm safe, Clint took us to Steve and the others but I still don't know why we're here.
Wanda: Steve wants us to leave our phones so I won't be able to talk for a little while.
Wanda: I love you.
He let out a small sigh when he saw the recent texts that Wanda had sent him while he had been training.
Natasha watched as his facial expression changed as he looked down at his phone. She walked over to where he was and sat down on the bench, giving him a small smile when he looked down at her. He put his phone down and grabbed his bottle of water from his bag.
"Bet you're regretting letting her leave now, hm?" She deadpanned making his choke on his water.
"Sorry, what?" He said between coughs. "What do you mโ Let her leave? I told you, I came back and she was gone." He lied.
"Oh please." She rolled her eyes. "You do know I used to be a spy right? I can tell when you're lying idiot."
"I don't know what you're talking about." Carson shrugged and took another drink of his water, keeping eye contact with Natasha waiting for her reply.
She frowned at his words and sighed. Yeah, sure, she had figured out what really went down and easily read between the lines, but it still hurt a little that he was still lying to her. Natasha glanced over at the door and at the glass in the room that exposed the corridor to check if anyone was near the room before speaking. "I'm not going to say anything to Tony, or anyone for that matter. You can talk to me, you know that right?"
"I know Nat, I know." He took a deep breath and sat down next to her. "You're right, about Wanda. I let her leave."
Although he was hiding it well, she knew that this whole situation was starting to get to him more and more. How could it not? His family were going head to head and he was forced to choose between them, he and Wanda were on opposing teams. And to top it off, there was nothing he could do about it. He felt helpless.
"I understand." She nodded.
She knew that there wasn't much she could say to make it better, words of encouragement weren't exactly going to improve the dilemma. So instead, Natasha scooted closer to him and slid her hand into his and interlocked their fingers.
"Ah, just the person I was looking for." Tony's voice was heard as he walked into the room, carrying a case in his right hand, smiling at Carson. "I've got two things to share with you."
"Is everything alright?" Carson asked, glancing down at the case. "What's that?"
"That, would be your new suit." Tony walked over to Carson and Natasha and placed the case next to him. "I've had the plans for a while and decided that it was finally time I brought the idea to life, so go on open it."
Carson looked down at the case and pressed one of the buttons that was located at the front, watching as the case slowly opened and presented his new suit that was folded up inside, his eyes widening slightly as he admired it.
"You like?" Tony asked, placing a hand on Carson's shoulder and wiggling his eyebrows. "I made a few extra modifications compared to your last suit but I'll explain that later."
"It looks great Tony." Carson nodded. "Thank you."
"No problem, bud. You was due an upgrade anyway." He smiled.
"You giving out new suits to everyone or?" Natasha tilted her head as she asked Tony.
"I knew I should've waited until you'd left the room." Tony rolled his eyes making Natasha chuckle.
"So you said there was two things you had to share?" Carson raised a brow.
"Oh right, of course." Tony began. "I need everyone on the jet in five. We're going to Germany."
Natasha and Carson exchanged a look of confusion at the random request from Tony. Carson cleared his throat before speaking. "And why's that?"
"Well... think of it as a nice, wholesome, family trip with all of usโ."
"Tony." Natasha narrowed her eyes at him, not having the energy to deal with him beating around the bush.
Tony sighed and began walking towards the door, stopping to turn around and look back at the pair before he could leave the room.
"We have a location on Rogers."
