CARSON FROZE, his eyes flicking between Wanda and the ring box that was in her hand. He turned around and closed the door behind him in order to buy him more time to think of something to say.
"How did—" Carson fumbled on his own words as he turned back to face her. "How did you... find that?"
"When I was getting off the bed to let you in," Wanda looked away from the box and up at him. "Your jacket fell off the bed and I reached down to pick it up... and then this box fell out so I— I got curious... and then I saw it and uh— I... is this for me?"
Carson scratched the back of his head and slowly started to walk towards her. "It was— is! Yes, it's for you. Still is."
Wanda glanced back down at the box, a smile starting to creep its way up on her face. "It's beautiful."
Carson looked down at the ring and smiled, gently taking the box from her hands. "It's the one you saw when we were in Italy. I knew how much you liked it so I got them to ship it over to Edinburgh and—"
"You remembered." Wanda looked up at him once more.
"Of course I did Wands." He shrugged. "Everyday when we'd walk past the shop, you'd always steal little glances at it. So the day before we left for Scotland, I had a look at it myself and I just... I knew. I knew that it was the one I was going to get to..."
A small gasp left Wanda's mouth at the realisation. "Wait. Hold on. Was you— You was going to..."
Carson hummed in response. As much as he wanted to propose to Wanda, he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that his initial plan was ruined. What happened in Scotland wasn't their fault of course, but now on top of that Wanda had found out by herself?
It was supposed to be special.
A day that would mark a new beginning.
Their beginning.
Wanda's eyes started to well up a little as she thought back to their anniversary. "Oh my god... with the lights, the fireworks, the things you said, all of that was— that was it wasn't it?"
Carson nodded and reached down for her hand, which this time she didn't push away.
"Yeah, it was. I had this whole plan on how I was going to do it but, well, you know. I'm so sorry Wanda, I know you always talked about a romantic and meaningful proposal and it— this isn't what you wanted. It should've been perfect."
Wanda shook her head and cupped his face. "Carson, look at me."
He lifted up his head, meeting her eyes with a small smile. She leaned forwards and placed a soft kiss on his lips before pulling away, looking at him with nothing but pure love in her eyes.
"It was." She told him. "It was perfect to me. It doesn't matter what happened. Aliens or not, that was and will always be one of the best nights of my life. And it was all because of you." Wanda shifted her arms so they were draping over his shoulders, one of her hands now running through the back of his hair. "Just because the plans changed doesn't mean my feelings, or answer would differ. Hell, you could propose to me in a random alleyway and I'd still be just as happy. Because at the end of the day, all I want is you. It all leads back to you."
"Well that's good, because I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon so." Carson grinned before taking a pause for a moment. He took a deep breath before speaking again. "Everything I said to you that night hasn't changed Wanda. Not in the slightest. Even if you did just go all Sokovian on me in there..."
He shot her a cheeky smile and Wanda playfully rolled her eyes.
"Well it was deserved." Wanda giggled.
"But all jokes aside. I really did mean it. Every word. I love you Wanda, so much. It's just— I'm trying to think of ways to describe it, but I can't y'know. It's hard for me to put you into words because... I love you in ways I've never loved anyone else. Like I said back in Scotland, I look at you, and I see home."
Wanda sniffled and pulled her sleeve over her hand, wiping the tears that began to escape her eyes. "Yeah I think you described that p-pretty well."
Carson kissed Wanda's forehead. He moved backwards and took a deep breath, moving the ring box back into his hand again.
There was no way he was going to miss this opportunity again.
"So, if you'll still have me..." Carson slowly got down on one knee and opened the ring box, looking up at her.
Wanda looked down at him and nodded quickly, covering her face with her hand as she started to cry.
"Wanda, I still don't know your middle name, Maximoff." Carson began, making Wanda laugh through her tears. "Will you marry me?"
Wanda's breath got caught up in her throat due to the amount of crying she was doing. She took a deep breath to calm herself down, before looking down at him with a huge smile plastered across her face.
"Yes!" Wanda said through sobs that suddenly burst out again, her attempt at stopping crying clearly going out the window.
Carson smiled and gently took her hand, bringing it down so he could slip the ring on her finger. As Carson got back up to his feet, Wanda looked down at her hand, taking her bottom lip between her teeth as she admired the ring on her finger.
Wanda looked back up at her boyfr— no, fiancé and practically jumped into his arms with a squeal of excitement. Her legs wrapped around his torso and she stuffed her head into the crook of his neck along with wrapping her arms around him tightly. He laughed softly at her actions and slid his hands around her so she was secure, giving into the embrace just as much as she was.
"This is it, alright?" Wanda mumbled against his skin. "Because this is where I wanna be."
He set Wanda down on the ground and cupped her face. She placed her hands over his and smiled warmly at him.
"This is it, Wands." He nodded as he brought their foreheads together. "And we have all the time in the world."
Carson slid his hands down to her waist, looping his fingers around the belt loops of her jeans and slowly tugging her closer with a grin. Wanda happily obliged and moved her hands around his neck, smiling when he pulled her in for a kiss, both of them ignoring the slightly salty taste due to Wanda's tears.
All that mattered in that moment was them.
Wanda moved their position without breaking the kiss, starting to walk backwards towards the bed as she pulled him with her. They both pulled away due to the back of Wanda's knees hitting the bed, making her fall onto the mattress on her back.
Carson rubbed his lips together in amusement and let out a small chuckle as he watched Wanda shuffled backwards so she was near the pillows, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.
He let out a chuckle before joining her on the bed and once he got close enough, Wanda grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him down, eager to continue their kiss. He looked down at Wanda as he hovered over her and he couldn't help but smile as he took in her features.
"What are you looking at?" Wanda giggled.
Carson gently brushed the hair out of her face and moved it behind her ear. "I'm looking at you. I love you Wanda."
Wanda smiled up at him, her nose scrunching in the process. "I love you too Carson, so much."
They both leaned in a reconnected their lips softly. His hand slipping around the back of her neck with his thumb resting at the side of her jaw while hers got lost in his hair, neither one of them daring to break the closeness between them. They were solely focused on each other.
After a few more minutes, Wanda's hands slipped from his hair and she lifted her legs up slightly as she started to untuck her shirt from her jeans. Carson pulled back from the kiss and he raised a brow at her, glancing over at the bedroom door.
"What about the others?" Carson asked.
"I don't care about the others." Wanda breathed out.
He smirked and moved his hands down to her shirt, helping her lift it over her head and off her body before removing his own, grabbing them both and throwing them across the room.
Carson turned his attention back to the redhead underneath him and he smiled briefly before placing soft kisses starting at her jaw, making their way down her neck then to the top of her chest. Wanda lightly gripped hold of his hair as her head rolled back slightly into the pillow, biting down on her bottom lip to suppress any sounds that were starting to come out.
They still had to at least try to be quiet after all.
"Don't stop." Wanda sighed.
Before he could go any further, he looked up at her, searching her eyes for any trace discomfort. He wanted to make sure that this is want she wanted before continuing. "Are you sure, love?"
"I'm sure." Wanda nodded with smile. But before he could carry on she placed a hand on his cheek and rubbed her thumb lightly across his skin.
"It's you and me now, dorogoy."
"You and me witchy."
