LONDON, ENGLAND

CARSON'S EYES scrunched as the morning light from outside slipped through a small crack in the curtain and hit his eyelids, waking him up from his sleep. He groaned at the disturbance and rolled onto his side facing away from the window, reaching his arm out expecting it to land on Wanda. But much to his surprise he was met with empty bed space.

His face scrunched in confusion and he patted his hand around the bed in search of her with his eyes still shut. After a few more unsuccessful seconds of searching the bed, he opened his eyes to find that Wanda was nowhere to be seen.

The sound of gentle humming and music filled Carson's ears and he began to pull himself out of the bed, wiping a hand over his face and rubbing his eyes in order to wake him up more. He made his way out of him and Wanda's room and began walking through their apartment to look for her.

In the three weeks since getting Wanda out of the Raft, (A/N: I know Black Widow may of been set a little sooner that three weeks but shh.) Wanda and Carson made their way to England in order to make sure Ross and the government couldn't find her. They acquired new ID's under new names, new bank accounts and even a bought a small apartment with the help of Tony who deposited some money into their account.

The apartment consisted of one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room and a kitchen. It was pretty small place considering they could've afforded something a lot bigger with the funds they had, but really what was the point? Who knew how long they'd be able to stay in once place for, they were on the run after all. Still, the pair still managed to make the space as homely as possible... mainly because of Wanda who had way too much fun decorating their first home together.

The couple had managed to stay in touch with Natasha and Tony without being detected, making sure to call often to check up on things. Tony mostly always being the one to call first, surprisingly.

Truth be told, he missed having Carson around.

Although, Carson hadn't heard from Natasha for a few days which was unlike her. She never missed their phone calls.

She must've been busy.

On the other hand, Steve, Sam and Bucky had gone completely off grid. The last form of contact Carson had with them was a letter that Steve had sent to him, thanking him for helping out at the Raft and making sure he knew that if he ever needed anything then he would always be there for him. He even added in a burner phone that contained one number, which was his.

Tony had told Carson about what went down in Sibera. That Bucky was the one who killed his parents, that Steve knew but kept it from him. However, Tony did leave out the part where Steve almost killed him. For obvious reasons.

At first, Carson was just as pissed at Steve as what Tony was, I mean how could he not be? But once he got the letter his anger towards the man seemed to settled down a little. Wanda reminded him that they were still his family, no matter what. And it was true. They always would be, no matter how far apart they may be. They'd always come back to each other eventually.

A smile formed on Carson's face as he walked into the kitchen to find Wanda rooting through the fridge, tapping her fingers on the handle to the beat of the song that was playing on their radio and singing along.

[Dream a little dream of me by The Mamas & The Papas, in case anyone wanted to know]

"Stars shinin' bright above you.
Night breezes seem to whisper, 'I love you'.
Birds singing in the sycamore tree.
Dream a little dream of me."

Wanda pulled some eggs out of the fridge and moved back over to her spot at the kitchen counter, still not noticing Carson watching her from the doorway.

"Say, 'Nighty-night' and kiss me.
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone and blue as can be.
Dream a little dream of me."

Wanda sang along softly as she cracked some eggs in a bowl. Carson chuckled quietly as he already knew she was going to make waffles, the girl was obsessed with them.

"Stars fadin' but I linger on, dear.
Still craving your kiss.
I'm longing to linger till dawn, dear.
Just saying this."

He moved from his spot in the doorway and made his way over to Wanda from behind, sliding his hands around her waist and resting his face in the crook of her neck.

Wanda jumped a slightly at first as she was in her own little world but she soon realised it was him and leaned her head back onto his shoulder.

She smiled up at him, her nose scrunching up in the process. "Hi."

"Hi." He responded while placing soft kisses down her neck, smiling against her skin as he heard her hum in approval.

Carson started to move away from Wanda so he could let her continue with what she was doing but before his hands could slip from her waist, she grabbed hold of them to stop him from letting go.

"Wands what about your food?" He moved his hands back to where they were before, letting out a small laugh. "How are you going to cook like this."

Wanda turned around in his arms to face him and draped her arms over his shoulders, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Well, the food can wait."

A mischievous grin grew on Wanda's face as she looked up at him. Carson raised a brow at his girlfriend as her teeth sunk into her bottom lip, her eyes trailing down his face and coming to a stop once they reached his lips.

"Is that so?"

"Mhm." Wanda hummed as she traced random patters on the back on his neck with her fingers.

Carson smirked and moved his hands up to Wanda's shirt, well actually it was his shirt but that wasn't the point right now, he gently tugged on the fabric and brought Wanda closer to him, closing the gap between them as he pulled her into a kiss that she happily reciprocated.

His hands slowly moved down the sides of her body as the kiss progressed, coming to a stop once he reached her legs. He lightly tapped the back of her legs with his hand to signal for Wanda to jump, which she did, wrapping her legs around his waist.

Carson walked them both towards the kitchen counter and set Wanda down on top of it, neither one of them pulling away from the other.

Until his phone rang.

Both of them pulled away slowly, their chests heaving up and down as they caught their breath. He looked to his right at his phone that was still ringing on the other side of the counter and used his powers to pull it into his hand.

"Who is it?" Wanda asked while combing a hand through her hair.

Carson's eyebrows scrunched up in confusion as he looked at his screen. It was an unknown caller. He brushed it off and declined the call, placing his phone back on the counter face down.

"Someone probably got the wrong number." He shrugged before sliding his hand to the back of Wanda's neck and pulling her in once more. She smiled against his lips and used her legs that were still wrapped around his waist to pull him even closer, as if he could get any closer anyway.

The sound of his phone ringing again stopped them both from continuing. They broke apart once more and rested their foreheads together as Carson let out an annoyed huff.

Wanda picked up his phone and looked at the screen, turning it towards him so he could see it too.

"Same person?" He took his phone as Wanda handed it to him, look down at the same name 'Unknown Caller' at the top of the screen.

"This is the second time they've called in the space of thirty seconds." Wanda said. "It could be important."

"Or it could be some random guy trying to desperately sell me some life insurance or something." Carson countered and Wanda giggled, shaking her head at him.

With a nudge from Wanda, Carson answered the phone. "Hello?"

No one replied on the other line, all that was heard was static.

"Uh, hello? Anyone there?"

There was more silence for a few more seconds and Carson rolled his eyes. He went to hang up but just as he was moving the phone away from from his ear, someone's voice was heard on the other line.

"Hi— can y— ... can you hear me?" The person on the other line kept cutting out, their voice barely audible.

"Who is this?" Carson asked the person.

"It's—" The signal wherever the person was seemed to clear up and they started to sound a lot clearer and stopped cutting out. "It's me idiot."

"Nat?" Carson furrowed his brows in confusion, Wanda doing the same. "How come you're calling with a different number?"

"Uh... long story." Natasha sighed. "My phone got destroyed, or lost in a river somewhere. I'm not quite sure. I'm using some crappy brick phone I bought like ten minutes ago."

"Destroyed? What are you— What's going on Nat?"

"I was attacked last night and... it's too much to explain over the phone I just—" She paused for a moment before continuing. "I need your help Carson..."

"Then I'm on my way."
