CARSON made his way through the living room and walked into the kitchen, reading the newspaper. Wanda had gotten up before him and decided to make a start on doing the dishes from the night before.

She didn't notice her husband walk in, so as she was using her powers to put back the plates, it hit Carson in the face and shattered at the touch.

Carson's brows furrowed and he reached his hand up, running his fingers over the fresh cut that had been formed from the impact. He let out a small chuckle and shook his head, not really being bothered considering it healed up within a few seconds.

"My wife and her flying saucers." He looked at Wanda.

Wanda smiled. "My husband and his enhanced healing."

"Aren't we a fine pair?" Carson asked. He folded the news paper over as he walked to Wanda, resting his hand on her waist as he kissed the top of her head.

Wanda blushed and once he had moved away she used her powers to fix the broken plate and put it back safely this time.

"What do you say to silver dollar pancakes, crispy hash browns, bacon, eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice and black coffee?" Wanda asked as she opened the fridge.

"I say," Carson leant his back against the counter as he watched his wife with a grin. "Sit down and relax Wands, you don't have to make breakfast for me. I should be the one waiting on you."

She peeked in the fridge, noticing that they actually had no food in. Wanda closed the door and looked back over at Carson, her nose scrunching as she smiled at him. "Well it appears we have no food in anyway."

Carson put the newspaper down on the table and looked over at the calendar, his head tilting to the side as he noticed a heart on todays date.

"Wanda?"

"Hmm?" She replied.

"Is there something special about today?" He asked her.

Wanda looked down at her clothes. "Well, I know the apron is a bit much, dear, but I am doing my best to blend in." She started to walk over to him.

"No, no." Carson gestured towards the calendar. "Someone's drawn a little heart right above today's date."

Wanda turned around to see what he was talking about. Carson walked up behind Wanda and wrapped his arms around her torso, hugging her from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder.

Wanda placed her hands over his that were on her torso and looked at the calendar in confusion. She really had no idea what today meant.

"Oh, yes, the heart." Wanda nodded.

Carson hummed in response, his brows scrunching up the more he looked at it too. He also had no clue what it meant. But they were both too nervous to admit they didn't know in case they had forgotten a special occasion.

Wanda turned her head to look at him. "Well, don't tell me you've forgotten dorogoy."

"Forgotten?" Carson scoffed. "Oh come on Wands, what do you take me for?"

She turned around in his arms so she was now facing him. "Well, then tell me what's so important about today's date."

"Uh." He scratched the back of his head as he looked around the room, trying his best to remember. "Maybe you're the one that's forgotten, hm?"

Wanda feigned an offended look. "Me? Heavens, no. I've been so looking forward to it."

Carson walked over to the counter and folded his arms. "As have I, love. Today, we are celebrating..."

"You bet we are." Wanda moved to the opposite side of the counter. "It's the first time we..."

"Mmhm."

"...Have ever celebrated this occasion before."

"It's a special day." Carson leant on the worktop with his hands.

"Perhaps an evening." Wanda added.

"Of great significance."

"To us both!"

"Naturally."

Wanda stood on her tip toes, leaning in over the counter. "Obviously."

"Exactly."

Carson smiled and leaned in too. The couple shared a soft peck before pulling away.

He looked down at his watch a sighed before grabbing his briefcase off the table. "Well, that's me off to work then."

Wanda walked in front of him, straightening out his tie before resting her hands on his shoulders. She smiled up and him and kissed his cheek. "I'll see you tonight, dorogoy. I love you."

"I love you too witchy." He gave her hand a squeeze before opening the back door. "Stay out of trouble."

A FAINT KNOCK at the front door pulled Wanda out of her staring contest with the calendar in the kitchen. She was determined to figure out what was so special about today and she figured maybe if she looked at it long enough, it would come back to her.

She let out a huff as she still had no clue but decided to brush it off, starting to make her way to the front door.

The door was opened and revealed a brunette woman stood with a bouquet of flowers, smiling brightly at Wanda.

"Hello, dear." The woman greeted as she took it upon herself to step inside. "I'm Agnes, your neighbour to the right. My right, not yours. Forgive me for not stopping by sooner to welcome you to the block. My mother-in-law was in town, so I wasn't."

Wanda chuckled and took the flowers from her hand. She opened her mouth to say something but before she had the chance Agnes walked past her and into the living room causing Wanda to raise a brow before she closed the door.

"So, what's your name? Where are you from?" Agnes questioned. "And most importantly, how's your bridge game, hon?"

Wanda joined her side and placed the flowers down on the table. "I'm Wanda."

Agnes smiled and shook her hand. "Wanda, charmed." The woman looked around at their living room. "Golly, you settled in fast! Did you use a moving company?"

"I sure did." Wanda nodded. "Those boxes don't move themselves."

"So, what's a single gal like you doing rattling around this big house?" Agnes walked over to the couches and sat down.

"Oh, I'm not single." Wanda answered.

Agnes' brows furrowed. "I don't see a ring."

"Well, I assure you I'm married." Wanda smiled. "To a man. A completely normal one. Not enhanced. Just a man."

Agnes chuckled at Wanda's explanation.

"As a matter of fact, he'll be home later tonight for a special occasion." Wanda told her. "Just the two of us."

"Is it his birthday?" Agnes beamed.

"Oh, no, no." Wanda shook her head. "Carson's birthday isn't for months and besides, he doesn't really like celebrating it anyway."

"Well, today isn't a holiday, is it?" Agnes shrugged.

"No, it's not a holiday."

"An anniversary then?"

Wanda's face lit up, she hadn't thought about that possibility yet. That must've been it. "Yes! It's our anniversary!" She joined Agnes on the couch.

"Oh, how marvelous!" Agnes said excitedly. "How many years?"

[A/N: i keep fking typing agatha then correcting it smh]

"Well.. it, uh." Wanda paused for a moment. "It feels like we've always been together."

"Lucky gal." The brunette tapped her hand. "The only way Ralph would remember our anniversary is if there was a beer named June 2nd." She rolled her eyes. "So, what do you have planned?"

"How do you mean?" Wanda asked.

"For your special night!" Agnes explained. "A young thing like you doesn't have to do much, but it's still fun to set the scene."

Wanda nodded along slowly, not quite catching on to what Agnes meant.

"Say, I was reading a crackerjack magazine article called, How to treat your husband, to keep your husband. Let me tell you, what Ralph could really use is How to goose your wife, so you don't lose your wife."

Agnes walked over to the front door.

"I'll go grab it so we can start planning." She let Wanda know. "Oh this is gonna be a gas!"

Wanda watched as Agnes left the house, closing the door behind her. She turned back around on the couch and smiled to herself, happy that her and Carson seemed to be fitting in.

Because this was their home now.

And there was no going back.

CARSON WAS sat at his desk, adding yet another completed file to the large stack that was on the edge of his desk. He had no clue what it was that they did in this office. All he knew is that it was ridiculously easy.

But then again, he was raised by a genius.

"Here are those computational forms that you wanted, Norm." Carson walked over to the mans desk and placed them down.

"Gee willikers, that was fast!" Norm marvelled. "Hey, the music isn't bothering you, is it, pal?"

"In terms of distraction from work?" Carson asked. "Or the fact it feels like my eardrums are going to burst."

Norm blinked a few times. "The first one."

"Ah, no, thank you Norm." Carson shrugged.

He moved his hands into his pockets and looked around the office. Everyone in there, other than Norm of course, had their heads down. No one spoke. All that could be heard was the clicking of the typewriter keys and shuffling of papers. It was like they were all in a trance.

Something about all of it didn't sit right with him. And he just couldn't put his finger on it.

Norm seemed to notice something was bothering him. "Hey, is there somethin' I can help you with buddy?"

Carson nodded. "Actually you can. Would you tell me... what is it we do here exactly? Do we make something?"

Norm shook his head. "No."

"Right... do we buy or sell something?"

"No and no."

Carson's face scrunched up. "Then what kind of company is this?"

"All I know is that since you've gotten here, productivity has gone up 300%." Norm stated.

"But what is it that we're producing?" Carson looked around.

"Computational forms." Norm answered. "And no one can process the data quite like you do, pal. It's like you've got superpowers or something."

"Sorry, what?" Carson glared at Norm making the man gulp. "You don't know what you're talking about Norm. I'm just a regular guy who's good at his job, whatever this job is."

"Hey, uh, what's got your feathers all ruffled?" Norm asked him timidly.

Carson let out a breath. "Sorry, sorry, I'm just on edge that's all. Apparently there's something special about today, special to Wanda, that's my wife. And I just can't seem to remember what it is." He paused for a moment, a small frown appearing on his face. "Actually I... I can't seem to remember much recently..."

Norm tilted his head in curiosity. "What do you m—"

The man was cut off by Mr. Hart's office door opening and the two men sat back down at their desks, getting back to their work so it looked like they were busy.

"Carson." Mr. Hart walked up to him.

"Mhm." Carson stopped what he was doing and turned to him.

"My wife and I are looking forward to this evening."

Carson leant back in his chair, letting out an 'ohh' when it finally clicked in his brain what was happening tonight. "Mr. Hart, of course!" He stood up. "Dinner with Mr. Hart and his wife, Mrs. Hart."

"That's what I said. What's wrong with you son?" Mr. Hart asked. "You got a screw loose?"

Carson's jaw clenched a little at the mans tone. But he dismissed it, deciding to bite his tongue on the matter. "Nope, screws all tightened up here."

"Yes, I should hope so. Employee dinners are a rite of passage for the new hires." The older man pointed to another employee who was leaving the office with a box of his things in hand. "Jones over there failed miserably. Isn't that right?"

"The wife thought five courses would be sufficient." The employee shrugged.

Mr. Hart scoffed. "And there was that paltry excuse for entertainment."

"A string quartet?"

"Then you had that embarrassing display of beatnik enthusiasm."

"I wore a turtleneck." The man frowned before leaving the office.

"Best of luck out there in the unemployment line, Jones." Mr. Hart rolled his eyes. He looked back at Carson. "You know, I owe my success to being a keen judge of character. No skeletons in your closet, eh, Carson?"

Carson laughed. "I don't believe so, sir."

"Glad to hear it." Mr. Hart nodded. "Your future in the company depends on it."

With that, the man returned to his office and once the door was closed, Carson let out a huff and sank into his chair.

"Can't wait." He mumbled under his breath.

BACK AT HOME, Wanda was sat on the couch with Agnes who was helping her brainstorm ideas for her and Carson's anniversary night.

Well, what they thought was their anniversary night.

"And you don't have a song?" Agnes checked. "Nothing special you played at your wedding?"

Wanda pursed her lips in thought as she tried to remember their wedding day. But no memories came up. "No, nothing special."

"I'll just loan you some records then." Agnes suggested. "So, we've got music covered, décor, wardrobe... oh! What about seduction techniques?"

"Oh, I have those." Wanda replied. "When it comes to that department me and him get on just fine." A small smirk tugged at the corner of her lips.

Agnes chuckled. "Of course you do. But have you tried any of these?"

Wanda glanced down at the magazine that Agnes was taking ideas from. "Well, what does it say?"

"That you should stumble when you walk into a room so he can catch you. It's romantic."

"Any other tricks?" Wanda asked, not really seeing a point in the one Agnes just listed.

Agnes nodded. "You could point out that the death rate of single men is twice that of married men?"

"Now that's romantic." Wanda said sarcastically.

The phone started to ring and Wanda gave Agnes a quick smile before walking over to pick it up.

"Swan residence." Wanda answered.

"Wanda, darling."

"Carson, sweetheart."

He sighed. "Listen, about tonight—"

"Don't worry, dorogoy." She assured him. "I have everything under control."

"Oh, well, that's a relief." Carson told her. "I gotta say, I'm actually kinda nervous."

"Nervous? Whatever for?" Wanda asked him.

"I don't know... It's a big occasion and you know, sometimes I can get a little tongue-tied." Carson explained.

Wanda smiled at his words, a faint blush creeping up on her cheeks. "Carson, after all this time..."

"There's a lot riding on tonight Wands. If it doesn't go as planned then..." Carson glanced over at his bosses door on the other line. "I think this could be the end."

Wanda's brow raised and she shuffled on her feet. "Well, it's just one night. There's no need to get dramatic."

"Look, I think the best plan is to impress the wife."

"And I think the best course of action is to impress the husband." She turned to Agnes and winked. The older woman laughed and gave her a thumbs up.

"Good, good. Glad we're on the same page. Until tonight then, love."

"Until tonight." Wanda giggled before hanging up the phone.

What could possibly go wrong?
