~ Caitlin's POV ~

After a wild night of partying I get back home to find my dad waiting up for me.

"Hi, Caitlin." He said.

"Hi, Dad... I thought you had to head into the precinct."

"I was worried about you. Is everything alright? You look all flushed."

"A-am I? Uhh... It's just hot outside." I said hiding my face.

"Who's that?" He said taking a glance out the window in time to see Barry's car drive away.

"Oh, that was a boy I met."

"A boy?"

"His name's Barry. He gave me a ride when I realized I was gonna be home late."

"Well. That was awfully kind of him to leave a party early on your account. You must have made quite the impression on him."

"Yeah... Maybe." I smiled brightly.

"This Barry. He drives an LBW-Gallardo-0002?"

"I guess? How did you know what it was?"

"I've impounded a few of them. They're dangerously fast" he said sadly.

"Did you have fun at the party?"

"My night was crazy! It was exactly what I needed."

"Good. You deserve the best for your birthday, princess."

"Well, I've gotta head to the precinct." He said and heads for the door.

"Dad?"

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"I'm sorry I stayed out so late."

He sighs. "It's okay Caitlin. I know you're a grown-up now. But you don't see what I see out there, as a cop. And I hope you never have to. I just got assigned a big new case and it's, well... The world is a dangerous place. And I worry about you."

"I know, Dad."

"Happy Birthday, Caitlin. I love you."
My Dad said kissing my forehead.

"Love you too," I say as he heads out into the night. I turn and go upstairs to bed.

Bzzz-Bzzz-Bzzz

I wake up, pick up my iPhone, and see a message from Barry.

"Hey, Snowflake. I wanna see you tonight. 460 east El Segundo. Meet me there at 8?" I read out loud.

"Ohmygod, he wants to see me again! Fuck what do I say!?" I said to myself.

"Play it cool, Caitlin, Don't answer right away."

I hop out of bed and got ready for school Wondering how tonight could go. I then head downstairs and run headfirst into a tall young stranger standing in my kitchen.

"Oof," I said falling.

"Sorry. Didn't see you there?..."

"Caitlin."

"Ahh you must be the detective's kid." the man said offering me a hand.

"Who are you?" I asked.

Before he could answer my Dad came into the kitchen. "This is Detective Thawne."

"Detective?"

"I'm Eddie, your Dad's new partner."

"He's on loan to me for that big assignment: The Bone Street Crew. Nobody's been able to catch this gang of thieves, so they dumped it on me." Dad said.

"I normally work with a special unit that tackles organized crime, but I'm honored to be working with your old man here. He's a legend." Eddie said patting his back.

"They pay him a little extra to suck up to me." Dad joked as he finished cooking up some food for me.

"Here's breakfast for you, Caitlin. Sorry I've gotta run. I'll be gone all night too, so there's leftover pizza in the fridge."

"It was great to meet you, Caitlin. By the way, that necklace of yours is really nice." Eddie said offering a warm smile.

"Oh! Yeah, thanks. It was a birthday gift from Dad."

"Well, it looks really good on you." he winked.

Soon, I'm sitting in class with Felicity before the bell, talking about the cops busting last night's party.

"Everyone's grounded! Some of the parents had to pick them up from the police station. Lucky for me I got a ride."

"From who?"

"You know the hot girl that was with Barry?" I nodded. " She came back and offered me a ride home next thing I know we hook up."

"What!?"

"Yeah, but there's one big problem I like her a lot and I don't if I'll ever see her again. "

"You want me to talk to Barry about her?"

"No, it's okay. It was a fun night. A one-night stand. That's all it was. But enough about me. What happened with you and Barry?"

"He got me out of there. He brought me home and we shared a kiss."

"Nothing else happened?." Felicity said wiggling her eyebrows.

"I'm not like you, Felicity. I can't just say hi, I'm Caitlin wanna have sex?" I said and we laughed.

"Okay,  settle down, everyone! Caitlin and Felicity, I suggest you keep your mouths shut unless you'd like to be in after-school detention." Mrs. Beesley yelled.

After class, I walk into the halls with Felicity towards her locker.

"So, has Barry texted you since last night?"

"He invited me out on a date tonight."

"What did you say?"

"I haven't responded yet."

"What the fuck are you waiting for?"

"My Dad would never let me hang out with someone like Barry. What do you think I should do?"

"Go for it. This is your chance. You can finally break free. Be your own person. You said you finally wanted to fall in love. What if this is it, staring you right in the face?"

"Okay, okay, your right, Felicity. As always."

"So, what are you gonna wear?"

"I've got a little something in mind," I said showing her a picture of the dress.

"You're gonna blow his mind. Text him and let him know you're coming." Felicity said.

"I'll be there, Handsome. 😘" I text Barry.
