Kavya was on her office desk working on her laptop. Suddenly Sakshi came rushing and almost threw herself on her chair next to Kavya's one and placed her bag on the table. This act had almost drawn the attention of everyone around them.

"What the hell Sakshi?" Kavya greeted her teeth, narrowing her eyes at Sakshi, who was making sure that she was settled on the chair perfectly. Kavya gave an apologetic smile to everyone.

"What happened?" Sakshi grinned like a fool.

"What do you mean by what happened?"

"Yesterday."

Kavya glared at her and rolling her eyes she looked back at her laptop. "Nothing much except the fact that we are getting engaged in 3 weeks."

"Whattttttt!" Sakshi placed her hand on Kavya's chair and moved it towards her. Kavya was looking away nothing at particular leaning against the chair. "Nooooo...Are you serious?" Sakshi asked.

"Yes." Kavya looked up with a defeated sigh. "I tried talking to mum even yesterday after coming back from their house... But nothing. I tried to use the 'but they are so rich, have high status' but nothing."

"I don't want to marry him Sakshi."

"Then what are you gonna do?" Sakshi asked with a bit of seriousness.

"What you gonna do means we are gonna do gossip." Both the girls jumped hearing a sudden voice, turning their head they say their boss standing there with a very unhappy look.

"Boss-"

"What! Who comes to the office to work? The office is a place to do gossips and talk about useless things. I don't pay you guys to work. Who even does that? I pay you guys to talk, so keep talking."

"We are very sorry," Sakshi muttered.

"You should be." Their boss snapped. "Now go back to work right now." With that, he left their table.

"I swear I'm gonna kill him one day." Kavya glared at her boss's back as he shouted on someone else. If glaring could kill he would have been dead by now.

"Don't need to. He is talking early retirement next week." Sakshi said as she pulled out her laptop.

"What really!" Kavya took a quick glance at her best friend before going back to her own work. "We can't be this lucky." She added dramatically.

"Yep, we are. Heard he wants to spend his all-time in farming and gardening in his backyard." Sakshi shook her head. Kavya scoffed. "From the next Monday, the new manager is joining," Sakshi informed.

"Hopefully he or she would be a normal human being, not Hitler 2.O" Kavya mumbled rolling her eyes.

....

"Okay when I said I would love to do third wheeling in your honeymoon... firstly I said in honeymoon and secondly I DIDN'T MEAN IT," Vivan yelled the last part glaring at Dhruv who was driving his car.

"You were finding the whole situation very funny right? Now suffer with me." Dhruv said taking a glance at Vivan. Vivan huffed making a small pout and crossing his arms.

Dhruv was enjoying his afternoon nap in his room when his mom came there, made him dressed up and ordered him to pick Kavya Sharma from her office. Clearly how Dhruv wanted to spend his afternoon! His mom had asked Kavya's mom where she works and now wants her to pick her up and then drop her off at his house. His mom literally had made him a personal driver of her. And he didn't want to look like one so he picked Vivan from his house too.

And most importantly between picking her up and dropping her off, his mother wanted him to spend quality time with her. Quality time with her he had enough of that.

After driving for a few minutes, he finally reached her office. He parked his car on the side of the road. They both got out of the car. Few people were leaving the building. But Kavya wasn't one of them.

"Call her," Vivan said leaning against the car.

"I don't have her number," Dhruv said casually with a shrugged.

"You don't have your future wife's number. What kind of a husband are you?" Vivan made a fake judging face in which he only a got a middle finger from his friends.

Vivan gave a small laugh but stopped to say "Oh there she is." Dhruv followed his gaze. He took off his sunglasses as he saw Kavya walking out of the building with another girl while talking.

....

Kavya nudged Sakshi on her side who was busy on her phone. "Oii oii please Let's go and eat something nah?" Kavya suggested with big puppy dog eyes and a big grin. They both were walking out of their office building.

"Dude you're always hungry! We just had coffee."

"I'm not always hungry. I'm just hungry all my waking hours." Kavya grinned. With a raised eyebrow, Sakshi looked at Kavya, who still was giving a puppy dog eyes, blinked few times innocently.

Sakshi playfully rolled her eyes. She looked forward and the first thing she noticed was Dhruv, "Wait isn't that your Dhruv?" She asked.

"Dhruv?" Kavya mumbled confusedly to herself and looked at the direction where Sakshi was looking. "Fuck it. What he is doing here?"

"I think waiting for you," Sakshi said looking at the guy next to Dhruv who was waving at them. "Who's that by the way?" She asked.

"That's Vivan Kapoor, his best friend," Kavya informed with an unimpressed frown as they made their way towards them.

"Hey." Vivan smiled. Kavya smiled back at him. "What you guys are doing here?" Kavya asked.

"Mom wanted me to pick you up." Dhruv looked at her putting his hands on his pocket, he leaned back against his car. He was wearing a simple grey sweatshirt with dark blue faded jeans. It was weird for Kavya to how he was wearing some normal clothes still was looking at his great.

"Why?" She asked.

"Both of our moms wants us to spend some time." Dhruv gave a very fake smile which was quite obvious to the other three.

"Why?" Kavya asked again scoffing.

"Shh don't be rude." Sakshi hit him on her arm with the elbow. "Hi! I'm Sakshi Gupta. Her best friend." Sakshi smiled.

"Dhruv." Dhruv smiled.

"Vivan. Vivan Kapoor." Vivan held his hand.

"Like Bond. James Bond?" Sakshi shook his hand chuckling. Vivan gave a small laugh too. "Shh don't tell anyone I'm on a secret mission."

A silence. Vivan and Sakshi looked at each other's respective best friend who was looking at two different directions. They both gave each other an awkward smile.

"So?" Vivan asked. Sakshi shrugged.

"Hey, Kavya you were hungry right?" Sakshi asked. "So let's go and eat somewhere?" She suggested looking at everyone.

Before Kavya could say anything. Vivan spoke. "Yeah, Great idea. Let's go D." Even Dhruv could say anything or react Vivan opened the door of the back seat. Kavya and Dhruv watched as first Sakshi went inside and then Vivan leaving other two standing there.

"Damn it." Dhruv rolled his eyes. Opening the door of the driver seat he sat down. Leaving no other option Kavya also sat down on the front passenger seat.

Dhruv started driving to a nearby food place. In the back seat, he could hear Vivan and Sakshi talking about random things. To avoid any kind of awkward conversation he decided turned on the radio. An old Hindi was playing. A few seconds later the song ended and "Wah Wah Ramji" from "Hum apka hain koon" started playing.

Dhruv and Kavya weren't paying attention to the song much until Vivan started humming the song when the words started.

"Wah – wah ramji, jodi kya banai
Bhaiya aur bhabhi ko, badhai ho badhai"

Dhruv gave him a confused look from the rear mirror but Vivan ignored it and continued.

"Sab rasmon se badi hai jag mein
Dil se dil ki sagai" He sang alone moving his shoulder slightly with the beat.

"Aapki kripa se yeh, shubh ghadi aai
Jiji aur jija ko, badhai ho badhai" Now Sakshi sang along with a grin. Vivan laughed.

"Sab rasmon se badi hai jag mein
Dil se dil ki sagai." Sakshi continued. With narrowed eyes and crinkled forehead Kavya turned around to glare on the girl.

But both of them ignored it and started clapping their hands. "Wah wah ramji Chu chu" The both sang along now almost dancing in the back.

"Wah wah ra-"

Kavya almost slammed her hands on the off button making a thud sounds. The two on back seat stop dead in their tracks. She glared at the rear mirror so hard that Dhruv almost thought the mirror was going shattered in pieces.

Crossing her arms over her chest Kavya looked straight in the road eyes narrowed. And it was enough for the people sitting on the back seat not to utter a single word for the rest of the ride. Dhruv stopped the car in front of a food court. After parking it they all got out of the car and went inside.

Inside, the girls sat down on a side and the boys sat on the other. After ordering whatever they wanted they just sat there. The other two gave each other 'not again' look.

"So, you were in the same school as them?" Sakshi asked taking a bit of her pizza.

"Yeah. St. Teresa.  And third wheeled for them for two long years." Vivan laughed. An unimpressed looked crossed Dhruv's face and gave a short glare to his friend before looking back at his friends.

"And how do you know her?" Vivan asked.

"Well we were on the same college and now works for the same company." It was like Dhruv and Kavya wasn't in date. Sakshi and Vivan were. And the other two were 'third'  and 'fourth' wheeling as their respective friends talk about everything to nothing.

Dhruv wanted to get out of the whole situation at any cost. At any freaking cost. Sipping his coffee Dhruv watched as Kavya ate her pan pizza. Her whole concentration was on that Pizza. Typical her. Dhruv thought. Sakshi and Vivan's conversation wasn't bothering her. And it, not bothering Kavya was bothering Dhruv. Kavya being oblivious and indifferent about the whole conversation was making Dhruv annoyed. When food was there everything just disappeared for Kavya.

Dhruv heard Kavya's friend laugh as his own stupid friend cracked a joke. He rolled his eyes. "I need to talk to you," Dhruv told looking straight at Kavya.

Kavya stopped chewing her pizza making a small unintentional pout. "Alone." He added when he noticed the other two had finally stopped talking and was looking at them eagerly.

Kavya looked at him deciding if she should agree or not. But finally, she gave a nod. She picked up the tissue, after cleaning her hands with it, she followed Dhruv outside.

"What do you wanna talk about?" Kavya crossed her arm over her chest after they both stopped outside the restaurant in a corner. She had a feeling that he was going to taunt her. If he did she was sure she wasn't going to let him go with it easily. The closer they had gotten to a conversation was the one they had on the terrace.

"Do you want to get out of this marriage thing or not?" Dhruv asked with a raised eyebrow.

"A-ha..." She wasn't expecting this at all. "Obviously I want to." Wasn't it a bit obvious? She frowned a bit. She stared up at the guy standing in front of her. He really had changed a lot. His messy hair was now cut and set perfectly. But it still looked soft as if it was asking you to run your finger through them. He had a subtle beard which made him look mature. Really mature. But his eyes still look the same. Dreamy and mysterious.

"I have a plan."

...

Literally the longest thing. It was supposed to be two chapters but it seemed boring then so I combined it. It also the last pr-written chapter I had. So no more as frequent updates as it used to be. 🙃

By far what do you think about the story? I would love to read your thoughts.
