She was born in-between, she is representation of both Hades and Zeus. Her father is unknown, but that never bothered her. Kritanta grew up in the underworld, which is why her abilities are what they are now, she can unlock more if she were to visit Zeus and allow herself open completely to the Light. Kritanta loves your world, so that is where she stays majority of the time. She has weakness of course, one of those is not being in touch with the Shadows, this can limit her abilities since that is how she connects with the underworld.
