may 1988

𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 Jenna and Jimmy's romantic wedding, the couple went on a romantic honeymoon to the beautiful island of Bora Bora. When they returned home, they started their semester of college with Ali, where she and Nicki met a fellow nursing student named Ashley, whom they introduced to Ali, as well as Andrew and their friends. 

After graduating from UCLA, with a Bachelor's degree in nursing, and Jimmy graduated with a juris doctoral degree, the couple moved into a one bedroom home on the outskirts of Encino, while Jenna worked with Ashley and Nicki at UCLA medical center together, and Ali attented UC San Diego School of Medicine, while Jimmy worked with his father.

The early California sun through the curtains of Jenna and Jimmy's bedroom as the radio alarm went off and Heart's Alone played on the radio. Reaching over, Jenna snoozed the alarm, and continued with her snooze, while Jimmy wrapped his arm around her.

The alarm went off for the second time with alone playing, and the husband and wife woke up to the early morning sun peaking through the closed curtains. Jenna sat up and rubbed the back of her neck, as her stomach roiled, something Jimmy noticed. Rubbing her back, he questioned, "Amour, are you alright?" 

Jenna covered her mouth and threw the covers off, before running into the bathroom. In the bathroom she crouched on the floor barfing as Jimmy held her hair back.

"You don't need to see this honey. Go on back to bed." Jenna said in between coughs and dry heaves

Jimmy shook his head no. "Nice try. I'm not leaving you in here by yourself."

Jenna steadied herself, trying to catch her balance, and flushed the commode. She washed her face and brushed her teeth, to get that nauseating taste out of her mouth, with Jimmy rubbing her back as she did so.

Jenna went back into the bedroom, and laid back down in the bed, while her husband came back with a cool rag, and laid it across her forehead, something she always did for him, when he was sick. "You didn't have to do that, honey."

"I know, but I wanted to. You always take care of me, now it's my turn." Jenna smiled and nodded, only for it to quickly fade. "What is it amour? What's going through that beautiful head of your's?"

Jenna fondled with the bedsheets. "I think we might need to go see Dr. Hirschfeld." Jimmy gave his wife a look of confusion, who sat up and held his hand in her's. "Honey, my period's late. It always starts the day after Nicki's. She got off her's five days ago."

After dressing for the day, Jimmy drove his wife to Dr. Hirschfeld, who is Jenna's gynecologist, and has been since she became sexually active. The husband and wife were sitting in the waiting room, waiting to be seen.

"Are you feeling okay, sweetheart?" Jimmu asked as he caressed her knuckle with his thumb

Jenna smiled and nodded. "I'm alright honey, a little nervous though."

Jimmy kissed her temple and gently reassured, "Hey, it's going to be alright. I'm with you every step of the way."

The door opened, to reveal an elderly nurse named Tamela, who was in her late 60s, and had a kind face. "Jenna Lawson? We're ready for you honey."

The husband and wife stood as Tamela led them to the room. After she got Jenna's vitals, she left the room, and Jimmy held her hand. After waiting for a few minutes, Dr. Hirschfeld walked in. "Hi Jenna, hi Jimmy." the woman smiled

"Hi, Dr. Hirschfeld." Jenna smiled

Dr. Hirschfeld sat down in front of the couple. "So Ms. Jenna, tell me, what's going on today?"

"Well, for the past few weeks, I've been having mood swings, I've been waking up feeling nauseous, and my period is late." jenna said.

"Well, I would like to order a blood and urine test. does that sound good?" Dr. Hirschfeld asked, and Jenna smiled and nodded in reply. "All right, I'll have Tamela come in and draw the labs and get you set up for your urine and I'll be back in to go over your results." Dr. Hirschfeld said as she stood up

"Thank you." Jenna smiled.

"You're welcome." Dr. Hirschfeld said. "Hang tight."

After Dr. Hirschfeld left the room, nurse Tamela came in to draw Jenna's blood, then she went across the hall for her urine test. After waiting for about 15 minutes, Dr. Hirschfeld came back in the room, and the husband and wife held hands

"Jenna, your HCG in both your blood and urine was positive. Congratulations. You're pregnant." Dr. Hirschfeld said, and Jimmy smiled as he pulled his wife in for a loving embrace. "Congratulations to you both."

"Thank you." Jenna smiled as she kept her arms around her husband's shoulders

"Thank you." Jimmy smiled

Dr. Hirschfeld prepped the sonogram machine, and conversed with the young couple. "How have you been doing symptom wise?" Dr. Hirschfeld asked as she began Jenna's sonogram

"Vomiting." Jenna sighed. "I don't mean to complain but I have felt more fatigue than usual."

"That's perfectly normal. Your morning sickness should go away soon." Dr. Hirschfeld said as she continued with the sonogram. "Your baby is doing excellent. It's the size of a pomegranate seed."

The couple intertwined their hands, as the image of the tiny growing baby appeared on the monitor, and Jimmy kissed her forehead. "Congratulations again to the both of you." Dr. Hirschfeld said

"Thank you." the couple said as they intertwined their hands and shared a kiss

Four months have passed since Jenna and Jimmy found out Jenna was pregnant: a girl: Elisabeth Marie Lawson, Lisa Marie for short. The husband and wife both decided that they needed to get out of their one bedroom home and into a bigger one. Jimmy surprised Jenna with a new home in the Mulholland Estates area. It was a two story house with an early 1970's design, something Jenna loved, with a vintage balcony on the second floor, a pool, a spacious backyard, and beautiful antique windows.

"Jimmy, why are we here?" Jenna asked

Jimmy gave jenna a house key, and gently answered, "This is our new home. I bought it."

"What? How?" Jenna asked 

"The money from my first case, it was for our new house. Come on." Jimmy smiled

Jimmy opened his car door, then opened the car door for Jenna, helped her out, and they walked to the door hand-in-hand. After unlocking the door, he let Jenna inside and walk in the door first.

Jenna looked around and saw the living room was furnished with lamps, and beautiful furniture, provided by her parents, grandparents, and in-laws

In the kitchen, there was a full range stove, six counters, and an island. Jimmy placed his hand on her back, and Jenna glanced up at him with a loving look on her face.

"The living room." Jimmy said as he led her to it. Jenna had her hand on her growing baby bump. The walls were beautifully decorated. The fireplace was beautiful. "Come see the upstairs." he said, as he took her hand

Jenna noticed that the staircase had a beautiful banister. Upstairs there were three bedrooms. the master bedroom had it's own bathroom, as well as the vintage balcony.

"But, I have a special surprise for you." Jimmy said as he looked at her. "Follow me"

Jimmy led her to the nursery where she saw it was fully furnished. In the corner was a crib and dresser for their baby, which was Jenna's, as well as a beautiful rocking chair.

"Your parents said the crib and dresser belonged to you. I thought it could be passed down to our kiddo." Jimmy said, as she smiled in reply, trying not to shed tears. as he walked to the other side of the room, she heard him say, "Amour, it's all here. Can you just see it?"

Jenna closed her eyes and opened them. For a moment, or maybe two, everything came to life. She was snapped back into reality when she heard the voice of her loving husband, she didn't mind it. "What do you think?" Jimmy asked

"Yeah. I love it babe." Jenna smiled brightly

"We have a home." Jimmy said happily

"Oh, a home." Jenna smiled happily

The husband and wife were locked in a loving embrace. Jimmy placed his hand on Jenna's baby bump, and kissed her once more.
