Monami - Maaf kijiyega dadiji magar main ye roka nahi kar sakti!

This statement of Monami was definitely a big shocker for everyone, especially Karan. It felt as if earth slided from beneath his feet and many negative thoughts started occupying his mind. But shrugging off everything, he calmed his racing heart and stepped ahead to question her.

Karan-M.. Monami, are you still doubtful about us?

Monami - Karan! Why would I be doubtful?! I know you love me & I love you till no extent! 

Karan - To fir tumne roke ke liye mana kyu kiya?

Monami - Karan, rishta sirf do logo ka hi nahi balki do families ka hota hai! And meri family ko humare baare mein abhi tak kuchh pata hi nahi hai.

Everyone nodded understanding her point & Suhasini got quite impressed hearing to Monami's understanding & respect towards relations. While Karan let out a deep breath of relief listening to Monami's logic.

Mila hoon ab jo tum se

Sukoon mila, sukoon mila...

Param - Arre to usme kya badi problem hai? Kal hi jaate hain aur tumhare papa se tumhara haath maang lete hain, simple!

Monami averted her gaze towards Karan with one eyebrow raised while he was just trying to avoid any eye contact with her as he already knows what she's thinking.

Monami - Itna simple nahi hai bhaiya, apne bhai se poochhiye kya karnaama kar-kar aaya tha mere ghar par!

Everyone was quite surprised about what Karan did and is Monami dragging it in between their relation.

Barkha - Karan, aisa bhi kya kar diya tha tune jo Monami ke papa tumhare rishte ke liye nahi manenge?

Karan who was speechless was finding a way to just change the topic and just sneak out of the situation. But he knew that if not now, then at some point of time he has to face what he did. Honestly, he wasn't embarrassed or nervous about it, it's just that he was awkward in saying it aloud.

Suhasini - Batao Karan!

Monami - Ye kya batayenge, dadi ji?! Main batati hoon...Ek baar 'accidentally' mujhe goli lag gayi thi, I got admitted in the hospital. Papa ko laga ki iss sabka zimmedaar Karan hai, to unhone Karan ki duty ke baare mein aur mere ko underestimate karne ke baare mein kuchh-kuchh kaha hoga. Pap mujhe apne saath ghar le gaye aur mujhe London bhejne wale thhe. But then Karan came and Papa ke saamne bade tashan mein mujhe waha se lekar chala gaya. Aur kaha ki (imitating Karan) Ye mera jurisdiction hai, Mr. Mahajan!

All stared at Karan with open mouths for a few moments and then started laughing while holding their stomachs. While Karan was just looking at Monami being thankful to her mentally for not exposing the 'actual' reason behind the scenario otherwise it would've created a very negative impact on his own family. Though they won't get angry, but it would definitely make Param feel guilty. 

After a while, when everyone stabilized themselves, Param came forward and took the support of Karan's shoulder and started laughing again. Monami was also chuckling hard looking at Karan's face.

Param - Bhai, karne se pehle kuchh to soch leta! Haha...Seedhe hone wale sasur ko dhamki dedi!

Karan- Bhaiya, tab mujhe thode hi pata tha ki me aur Monami ke beech kabhi kuch hoga. (to Monami) - Aur haan, main darta nahi hoon tumhare papa se! Jab main sirf apni Cadet Monami Mahajan ko vaha se lekar aa gaya, aur vo kuchh nahi kar paye. To ab jab apni hona wali biwi ko vaha se lekar aaunga, to vo kya hi kar lenge?!

Monami blushed hard as Karan addressed her as his 'hone wali biwi' and also on Karan's confidence.

Param - Betaji, cadet ke father ke saamne to aap tik gaye. Ab sasur ke saamne na pair kapenge (shiver)!

Suhasini - Koi baat nahi! Pehle tum apni family ko bhi batado, uske baad koi achha sa muharat dekhkar hum tum dono ka roka kardenge.

Har pal haseen sa huaa hai
Saanson ko tune chhuaa hai
Badhi tujhse nazdeekiyaan
Sukoon mila, sukoon mila... mm...

Monami & Karan nodded with red faces and after a lot more chit-chat & entertaining tadka of Baby, they bid adieu to the Shergills. They were driving towards the academy with a special glow on their face. I think it was quite obvious as they're happy from within. Karan's family happily accepted Monami & now consider her as a family member, what else would be needed to be on the 7th sky? 

Karan held Monami's hand and kissed at the back of it, making Monami's heart flutter as if he's doing that for the first time. She too leaned closer and kissed above the place she resides in, his heart! Sensing the soulful silence, Monami started to blabber about things while Karan listened to her as if her bak-bak is like a therapy for him.

Sukoon mila, sukoon mila... mm...

But after a few minutes, Monami noticed that Karan was lost in his own thoughts & was just humming or nodding to whatever she was saying but was not giving her any replies. Monami turned towards Karan and saw some sort of sadness & emptiness in his eyes. She wondered that everything went well, his family accepted her then why is her Khadoos Shergill not as happy as he should be.

Monami - Karan! Karan!

Monami called out his name twice but when he didn't reply, she thought to say more loudly.

Monami (loudly) - KARAN!

Karan looked at Monami with a jolt as Monami's voice made him come out of his trance & he was surprised upon hearing her screaming his name.

Karan - Haan Monami, kya hua?

Monami (sternly) - Karan, stop the car!

Karan (confused) - Kya ho gaya, Rani Sahiba?!

Monami (strictly) - I said STOP THE CAR, KARAN!

Monami said so in an authoritative & commanding tone. And the Special Agent Karan Shergill who orders everyone, applied immediate breaks to the jeep being scared of the one who'll order him from now on. They were still quite far from the academy and Karan parked his jeep in the corner of the highway that connects Mumbai and Deolali. (I really don't know about the states & cities, so please excuse if I'm wrong here.)

Karan - K..kya hua, Monami? All, okay?

Monami (quite angrily) – Kuchh 'Okay' nahi hai! Tumhe kya hua hai? Itni der se sirf main hi bole ja rahi hoon aur tum bus 'hmm', 'hmm' mein reply kar rahe ho! (Softly) Kya hua?

Karan just lowered his head and fidgeted with his fingers as he didn't have any explanation for his behavior. Monami observed his antics and figured out that there's something in his heart which he wants to express but isn't getting any appropriate words. Monami kept her palm on his fist and made him face herself.

Monami (very softly) - Karan, you know na you can share anything with me!

Karan - I know this, Rani Sahiba! It's just that...aaj itna special day tha, kitne khush thhe aaj sab, Dadi ne tumhe kitni happily accept kar liya, but....

Monami - But what Karan?!

Karan - There's something missing!

Karan was about to speak further when Monami spoke on his behalf.

Monami - Mummy-Papa! Unhi ki kami mehsoos ho rahi hai na?!

Karan just smiled affectionately hearing Monami addressing his parents addressing h as 'Mummy Papa'. He just hugged her expressing how blessed he feels upon getting such an understanding life partner who understand him without him uttering a word. Also, Karan's heart thumped a bit when she addressed his parents like hers!

Karan - Haan Monami! Kaash..kaash aaj Mummy and Papa dono hote humare saath. They would've loved to meet you!

Monami smiled sympathetically and caressed his cheek with her palm, trying to sooth the pain in his heart. 

Karan - Unki kami to mehsoos ho rahi hai, magar pata nahi kyu..ek ajeeb si sensations ho rahi hain body mein! Jaise ki kuchh hone wala hai!

Monami found this confusing and started rubbing her palm on Karan's chest & above his heart to calm down his worries. She was about to say something when her phone rang. As Monami was wearing a saree and decided to not to carry any sort of clutch or purse & creating unnecessary trouble. Karan had asked her to give her phone to him, as men have huge pockets in their jeans (Uff..why?) So, Monami's phone vibrated in Karan's pocket and as soon as he pulled it out, his forehead straightened and Monami sensed that it might be something serious.

Monami - Kya ho gaya, Karan? Kiska phone aa raha hai?

Karan (passing her the phone) - Monami, Mahajan Hospital se kisi Dr. Shivani Saini ka phone hai!

On this, Monami too got serious as Dr. Shivani is neurologist, who's looking after the coma patients in Mahajan Super Specialty hospital. She immediately picked up the phone while Karan decided to sit silently, not disturbing her serious work call.

Monami - Hello! Yes...Whatt!!! Really??...Oh okay..I'm...I'm coming!

Karan could just hear Monami's side of the conversation and was curious to know why Monami got so excited and tear-eyed after listening to Dr. Shivani. She hurriedly cut the call and hugged Karan in excitement. He too reciprocated the hug but was too confused. 

Karan (coming out of the hug) - Arre Rani Sahiba, aisa kya hua jo aapne hume seedha gale hi laga liya?

Jab bhi rahoon sang tere
Bhoolun har gham shiqwa gila
Tere ishq ka hi nasha hai
Meri rooh tak mein basaa hai
Tune aankhon se jo chhuaa
Sukoon mila, sukoon mila... mm...

Monami - Khadoos Shergill, abhi tumhari flirting ka nahi hai! I need to reach Mahajan Hospital ASAP! Dr. Shivani ka phone isliye aaya tha because humare hospital mein do patients hain, they are in coma from 5 years. Hum sabne unke bachne ki hopes chhod di thi. They were just surviving on medicines. But today a miracle happened, they showed some movements in them!

Karan (astonished) - Dono mein ek saath movement?!

Monami - Yes Karan, even I'm surprised! Abhi Hospital mein papa bhi nahi hain, so I have to go as I'm the second authority of the hospital. Kya hum ja sakte hain?

Karan - Arre Rani Sahiba, isme poochne wali kaunsi baat hai? Ofcourse hum jayenge, I'll drop you. And coincidentally, hum Mumbai-Deolali highway par hi hain!

Monami nodded excitedly and happily as she was blessed with such a life partner who supports & respects her profession equally. 

Within a drive of an hour and half, Karan & Monami reached near the hospital. From a distance of 100 meters, the huge hospital with the board of 'Mahajan Super Specialty Hospital' could be seen, having two buildings one small and one large (which is the main one). Karan was quite surprised looking at the hard work of Mahajans. As he already knows that it was started as a small clinic by Dr. Deepak Mahajan and later on, he & his wife, Major Dr. Juhi Mahajan did struggles and united each night and day to make this as a hospital and to provide people with the much-needed treatment at a very affordable price. And when Monami got enough capable, she used some of her savings and built the second building having neurological department and health care facilities for children.

Karan was finding an appropriate place to park his jeep, but the parking lots were full. So, he insisted Monami to go and check on the patients while he finds a suitable place to park the jeep.

Karan - Monami, tum pehle chali jao, till then I'll find a place to park.

Monami - You sure, Karan? Aa jaoge na?

Karan - Bacha thode hi hoon main! Aaj jaunga, you run!

Monami smiled and ran towards the entry gate of Mahajan Hospital but not before pecking Karan's cheek. Monami went inside first and immediately headed towards the ICU where those two patients were, along with Dr. Shivani. As Monami entered, she observed that their heart rate was increasing which was a positive sign for their recovery. There were two beds in that ICU laid adjacent to each other. On one bed, a lady was laid and on the other a man was there.

Monami - Dr. Shivani, Dose 2! Immediately! (I don't if something like that exists or not.)

Dr. Shivani nodded and did as she was ordered and within 5 minutes, the man started to gain his consciousness, making Dr. Monami & Dr. Shivani shed tears of happiness. In the span of around 5 minutes, the lady too started gaining her consciousness.

Lady - Ahh!

The lady gained her consciousness fully but was feeling hard to open her eyelids. Till that time, Karan too entered the premises of the Hospital and thought to not to disturb Monami in her work and rather wait in some waiting area. So, without asking anyone, he went and took a seat in the waiting area, literally waiting for Monami.

They both were doing what they loved, Monami was performing her duty of a doctor & Karan was performing his duty of a soon to-be husband by waiting for her without complaining. But were actually unaware of what turns their lives are going to take & what havocs would be created!
