Monami went inside first and immediately headed towards the ICU where those two patients were, along with Dr. Shivani. As Monami entered, she observed that their heart rate was increasing which was a positive sign for their recovery. There were two beds in that ICU laid adjacent to each other. On one bed, a lady was laid and on the other a man was there.

Monami - Dr. Shivani, Dose 2! Immediately! (I don't know if something like that exists or not.)

Dr. Shivani nodded and did as she was ordered and within 5 minutes, the man started to gain his consciousness, making Dr. Monami & Dr. Shivani shed tears of happiness. In the span of around 5 minutes, the lady too started gaining her consciousness.

Lady - Ahh!

The lady gained her consciousness fully but was feeling hard to open her eyelids. Monami & Dr. Shivani went near those patients and started treating them with some or the other medicine.

While Karan was in the waiting room patiently waiting for his Rani Sahiba. He was just roaming his eyes all around the waiting room. He found out that it was huge and the whole area had a very positive vibe all over. One couldn't make out that they're sitting in a hospital. It reflected such a positive & enthusiastic vibe which could help the patients to recover soon. Karan saw a ward boy going towards some patient. Karan glanced at his watch only to find out that it's been more than an hour since Monami went & he's sitting there ideally. Karan stood up and stopped a ward boy who was passing by.

Karan - Excuse me, kya aap bata sakte hain ki Dr. Monami Mahajan kidhar hain?

Ward boy - Sir, abhi to vo bahot busy hain. Urgent hai to main aapki appointment kisi aur doctor ko appoint karva du?

Karan - A..no no, it's ok!

The ward boy went away, and Karan again took a seat with a huge sigh. He was thinking something & started smiling lovingly to himself.

Karan (in mind) - Ab uss ward boy ko kya batau..meri zindagi ki appointment to Dr. Monami Mahajan par permanently fix ho chuki hai! Kisi aur Dr. ke paas shift ki to Dr. Rani Sahiba mujhe hi coma mein pahuncha dengi!

He chuckled to himself and then shook his head on his own thoughts. Suddenly out of nowhere, Dr. Mahajan entered his hospital from the main entry and observed that a tall man who seems to be known to him, asked something to the ward boy. As the ward boy came out after answering to Karan's query, he saw Dr. Mahajan staring at him and he greeted him nervously. The ward boy was about to escape from the never-ending speech by the 'Sadu Mahajan', well ya...that's what the hospital people call him, except Monami. But before he could make a safe escape, Dr. Mahajan held him back.

Dr. Mahajan (while glaring at Karan's sitting figure) - Rakesh, tum jante ho ye kaun hai?

Rakesh - Na..nahi sir, main puchkar aau?

Dr. Mahajan - No! Ye kya puchh raha tha tumse?

Rakesh - Sir, ye Monami madam ke baare mein puchh rahe thhe!

Dr. Mahajan just nodded, and Rakesh left from the sight. Dr. Mahajan kept glaring at Karan with ferocious eyes as if he would burn him down any second for being present at his hospital. Dr. Mahajan inhaled a few breaths and went to Karan calmly. As he reached near him, he witnessed that Karan was smiling looking at nothing and slight red hue was also formed on his cheeks. Dr. Mahajan is usually a calm personality but when it comes to his daughter, then he just forgets everything. He knew that Karan is thinking about Monami only as he himself has seen their closeness in those Instagram pictures.

Karan was daydreaming about his & his Rani Sahiba's honeymoon where they would be hugging, kissing and what not! He was having the best feeling of the world, when his bubble busted due to a sudden tap on his shoulder. Karan's nostrils flared as he mentally cursed that person who dared to break his beautiful dream. But as Karan looked upwards, all his cursings got crushed and he got up with a jolt. He didn't expect such a meet with Dr. Mahajan. As far as he remembered, Dr. Mahajan was not in the hospital and that's why Monami was called.

Karan (trying to not to be nervous) - A..aap??

Dr. Mahajan (sternly) - Aapki jaankari ke liye bata du, Agent Shergill ki ye mera hospital hai! Aur kya main jaan sakta hoon ki aap yaha kya kar rahe hain? Doesn't seem that you're hurt or sick or agar hote bhi to kya puri duniya mein sirf Mahajan Hospital hi bacha hai?!

Karan who was just staring straight into Dr. Mahajan's eyes, got that he's furious and angry upon something but what it is, is not known to him.

Karan (nervously) - A..am...ah..

Dr. Mahajan - Ye ajeeb-ajeeb awazein nikal kar ho gaya ho to kindly come to the point!

Karan closed his eyes for a second and explained himself that right now he's not his soon to-be son in law and he's not Monami's father. Karan has to reply him being a Special Agent and considering him just as Dr. Deepak Mahajan only.

Karan - Sir, I was just waiting for my Cadet Dr. Monami Mahajan! Though she's my cadet but also a doctor, she was called for some extremely important case.

Dr. Mahajan (with his left eyebrow raised) - Commando bankar achhi tankhwa (salary) nahi mil rahi kya jo pick & drop service bhi chalu kardi?!

Karan pressed his lips tight sensing the sarcasm in his tone.

Karan - Sir, Monami mere saath thi and then she got a call from the hospital. She told me about the case, and I only insisted her to drop her.

Dr. Mahajan - So you could have left! Vo aa jati apne-aap.

Karan - Keeping a track of my cadets' activities and for some security reasons, I'm here & I don't think that I'll get away any sooner!

Karan said in the same sarcastic tone making Dr. Mahajan offended. Before Dr. Mahajan could question him further and make him lose all his confidence, embarrassing him, he secretly dialed Monami's number.

In the ICU, the two patients fully got their consciousness and were now lying on their beds & were observing everything around them. For a second, they got emotional wondering about how much time they've stayed away from their family and have been lying on these beds. Monami was sitting beside the lady on a stool and Dr. Shivani took a seat beside the man just to monitor they're cardiac activities. Suddenly, Monami's phone started ringing and as it was kept on the table just beside the lady, that lady & Monami together peeped into it. Monami saw that it's Karan's call as she had a picture of his set as the contact picture. She was already sorry for making her Khadoos Shergill wait for her but was again sorry as she can't take his call right now as being by the patients' side is much important.

Shocking both the doctors and that man in the ICU, the lady started taking heavy and sharp breaths. She was unable to say something due to the attached oxygen mask but was continuously pointing towards Monami's phone. Scaring them further, the machines started to beep and indicated that her heart rate and blood pressure was increasing more rapidly. Monami's eyes widened and glistened just at the thought of losing that woman. She's been lying on the ICU bed for 5 years and in these years, Monami was the one who frequently visited her and took care of her treatment. Despite of no communication between the two, Monami felt very attached to that couple.

Monami (panicking) - Please calm down! Aa..aapko phone chahiye?!

The lady shook her head vigorously making the man tensed of all & Monami confused. All of a sudden, something strikes Monami, and she decided to give it a try.

Monami - Karan?!

The lady nodded vigorously and as she heard Karan's name, her heart rate and BP also started to get normal. Monami was extremely shocked that how does she knows Karan and what relation they share.

Lady (whisper yelling) - K..Ka..ran!

Aashiyaana mera saath tere hai na
Dhoondte teri gali mujhko ghar mila
Aab-o-daana mera haath tere hai na
Dhoondte tera Khuda mujhko Rab mila

Listening to Karan's name from that lady's mouth, Monami was now sure that there is something which she doesn't know. Monami immediately called back Karan and he picked it in just one ring as he himself was stuck in a very awkward situation.

In the waiting room, as Karan got a call from Monami, he sighed thanking her mentally not knowing what's coming up for him. Karan immediately picked up the call and smirked at Dr. Mahajan. But before Karan could speak anything Monami started.

Monami (in a panicked tone) - Karan, I want you in the ICU right now! Jaldi aa jao, please!

Saying so, Monami hung up the call and as that lady got the assurance about Karan's arrival, she smiled faintly in the oxygen mask itself. Looking at the lady, the man who was lying on the bed besides, got tears in his eyes. Monami was observing each and every activity of the patients and was getting more and more suspicious by each passing second.

Karan ran from there in a hurry making Dr. Mahajan frown. Somehow by asking everyone, Karan reached to the ICU. As Monami herself called him, there was no one to stop him and as the door was unlocked, Karan opened it immediately. As the door opened, Monami was able to see Karan and Dr. Mahajan who came running behind him. She signaled Karan to come ahead. As he made a few steps forward, the lady started to take deep breaths, surprising both Karan and Dr. Mahajan.

Lady (desperately) - Ka..ran!

Tu jo mila lo ho gaya main qaabil
Tu jo mila to ho gaya sab haasil haan!
Mushqil sahi aasaan hui manzil
Kyunki Tu.. Dhad.kan.. Main Dil...

Karan saw the lady's face and it shook him to the core, in reflex he moved his head the other side, receiving another shock. The lady he saw was his mother, Varsha and the man was his father, Ranjeet who passed away when he was merely a 5-year-old child. He took slow steps towards his mom with tears of joy, pain and love flowing continuously from his eyes. Dr. Mahajan was about to say something when Dr. Shivani took him out being signaled by Monami.

Rooth jaana tera
Maan jaana mera
Dhoondhte teri hansi
Mill gayi khushi

Karan was seeing his parents after decades; he was not able to believe his eyes. Seeing them in this condition was giving much pain to his heart but atleast they are in front of him today, was more than enough for him. Soon his sobs started to be audible and before he could stumble by the shock, Monami held him on time. She took him towards his parents and made him sit on a stool between their beds. He held his mom's hand in his left hand and his dad's in the right one. He couldn't control his emotions anymore and just hugged his mother tight, crying hysterically in her embrace as if a toddler is crying sticking to his mother who left him alone for a while.

Raah hoon main teri
Rooh hai tu meri
Dhoondhte tere nishaan
Mill gayi khudi

Karan - Mu..mma! Pa..Papa!

Varsha too somehow lifted her hands and wrapped them around her son's shoulders. Monami along with Ranjeet was in tears witnessing this beautiful reunion.

After a while of crying, sobbing and consoling, Varsha and Ranjeet were now able to breath without the oxygen mask and were much better to sit on the bed. Karan was also slightly stable, all thanks to Monami's constant support & encouragement. All the while when Karan was complaining about him missing his parents, Monami was the one who was rubbing his back in order to calm him down and was also wiping his tears time-to-time. Monami left the ICU to give some space to Karan with VarJeet and to bring something slurp able for the patients. She was about to enter the ICU to give the soups but was called by Dr. Mahajan from behind.

Dr. Mahajan - Monami, wait!

Monami halted as she can't deny what her senior said. Plus, he's her father so she has to obey him.

Dr. Mahajan (quite angrily) - Ye Karan yaha kya kar raha hai?

Monami sensed the anger in Dr. Mahajan's voice and decided to not to reveal about their relationship right now.

Monami - P..Papa vo...main Karan ke saath hi thi jab mujhe Dr. Shivani ka call aaya. So, he insisted me that he'll drop me here! And..achha hua na main Karan ke saath aayi, you know vo jo patients hain vo Karan ke parents hain!

Dr. Mahajan - What?!

Monami - Yes papa, puri story to abhi mujhe bhi nahi pata. But haan, ye confirm hai ki vo Karan ke parents hi hain!

Saying so, Monami entered the ICU, escaping from Dr. Mahajan's questionnaire. Dr. Mahajan also didn't say anything as he too was thinking that it's all a coincidence that Monami was with Karan at that time. Not knowing that Karan's Dadaji has even insisted them for Roka. ;-)

Monami entered the ICU with two bowls of soup and some bottles of glucose, she saw that Karan has kept his head in his mother's lap and was telling her how he & Param managed to live without her. Monami smiled and thought to let them complete their conversation first. She first inserted the glucose drip to VarJeet & then forwarded the bowls of soup.

Karan (emotionally) - Monami, aaj main apne mumma-papa ko khilaunga!

He took the bowls and fed VarJeet alternatively. They smiled faintly looking at the way their son cares for them. After a while of eating and talking, MoRan decided to ask the main question.

Karan - Mumma-Papa, ek baat puchu?

Ranjeet nodded and Monami kept her hand on Karan's hand secretly to provide him with some strength.

Karan - Aap log yaha kaise? I mean hospital mein, coma mein! Aur mu..mma-papa, aap dono to shaheed...

Karan couldn't say further & closed his eyes tightly as the days and nights which he & Param have survived without their parents, started coming in front of him. Monami had his fists in her hands and caressed them to soothe his pain. VarJeet looked at each other and decided to reveal the whole truth.

Ranjeet - Karan beta, hum dono pichhle kayi saalo se as Secret Agents duty kar rahe hain. Jab hum dono mission par shaheed hue thhe, tab hume ek terrorist group ne captivate kar liya. Unhe laga ki hum unke liya kaam kar rahe hain, but we were working for the nation!

Varsha (with a wet voice) - Humne tumhari life par nazar rakhi hui thi, hume sab kuchh pata hai! Mujhe pata chal gaya hai ki ab meri ek bahu bhi hai aur ek bahot hi pyaar poti bhi. Aur Param, vo shaheed ho gaya na?

Saying so, a lone tear escaped Varsha's eyes as she was not able to get whether her son is martyred in real or not. MoRan felt extremely proud on VarJeet that they didn't care about themselves or their family, rather served the nation with full devotion.

Monami - Nahi nahi, jaise aap logo vapis aaye hain vaise hi Param bhaiya bhi kuchh din pehle laut aaye! Ab sab kuchh achha hai!

Karan smiled at how enthusiastically Monami announced that & was feeling some different sort of gratefulness towards her. He already knows that she's a lucky charm for him. Because of her...he was able to evoke his real self, he learned how to live one's life, he & his family got back their Param bhaiya and today...she has brought back his parents! She's truly an angel for him & his people!

Varsha (doubtingly) - Dr., aapko kaise pata ki Param mera beta hai aur vo vapis kaise aaya, and all?! I'm sorry to ask but Karan, ye Dr. tere itna close..kyu??

Listening to Varsha, Monami immediately took back her hands which were holding Karan's hands. Karan and Monami started looking here and there to hide their flushed faces.

Monami - A..ma..main..aapki medicines lekar aati hoon!

Saying this, Monami escaped the situation and ran outside the ICU as fast as she could. By this act of Monami's, Varsha's doubt grew stronger while Ranjeet smirked looking at his son. Karan just remained sitting there with a face hung low with red cheeks.

A/N - I don't know what happened to my emotional dialouge writing skill that I wrote such a chapter. I hope zyada bura na ho! Lagta hai saare emotions DDLA ke time par hi nikalte hain. I know y'all be thinking ki abhi to coma mein thhe and abhi conscious ho gaye and baat bhi karne lage! So, before anyone could bash, lemme remind you that IT'S JUST A FANFICTION! ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!
