"He- he will kill me, he will kill me," Yuri said in whispers while hugging Jungkook. She clenched his hoodie, shivering and crying.

"Ms. Do? No one will kill you," he awkwardly said. Seeing how it didn't affect her at all, he said, "I'm here, it's okay."

He didn't know how long it had been, but she kept crying and refused to let go of him. It was an extremely awkward situation for him, he didn't know her well and had no idea what to do about her condition. It was even worse because he couldn't be with Jimin to explain the whole ordeal.

Like telepathy, Jimin somehow knew that Jungkook had thought of him and arrived where he was with Yuri. In front of a park under a flickering streetlight. Now that he noticed the surroundings carefully, he realised that it was a good neighbourhood with some flaws; much like that streetlight and the murder.

"Jungkook, would you mind telling me what exactly happened?" Jimin's dulcet voice caught his friend's attention along with Yuri's.

"Hyung, I was wandering around like we discussed and I noticed sound. Someone threw that man's corpse from the alley opposite to me; I saw a person with a strange mask and attire and ran behind. Whoever it was escaped."

Yuri had finally let go of him and was listening intently just like Jimin. However, she still appeared to be shaken; it affected her too much.

"Who is she and what is she doing here then? It's a curfew for everyone." Jimin's gaze shifted towards Yuri who looked at Jungkook for help; he was surprised how she had so much trust in a man she had barely known for 24 hours.

"I don't know. She pulled me in a gap to hide from the killer but she also ran behind me when I chased the killer," Jungkook addressed Jimin. He looked at Yuri in a confused manner, trying to tell her that even he didn't know why she was out there.

"I had a late shift at work, so I was just returning home now," Yuri said. Her voice cracked a little and tear stains were still visible on her face.

"Do you live here?" Jimin asked.

"Yes, the- the dead body was in front of my apartment." She gulped, fear still lingered in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry you had to witness this miss. There will be security here from now onwards, please don't be scared." The cop nodded at her.

"T-thank you," she said in a feeble voice. Jungkook found it strange; even though she was perturbed by the gore sight, her reaction was weird. It was as if she recalled a memory that haunted her, like it was a cry of the past. Because it wasn't known if the killer was a man.

"Miss, I believe you should go home. The killer had escaped so it's quite dangerous out here," Jimin said as he observed her.

She looked at Jungkook again before leaving, her steps were wobbly and she visibly trembled. Jimin was about to speak but he got up and jogged towards her, offering to walk her home. She thanked him and he returned after seeing that she reached home safely.

Jimin stood outside, waiting for him as he observed his friend's gentleman behaviour. Nonetheless, any of this wasn't a major concern. The killer had murdered someone else, in the exact same way as the previous one. The case was not just of the school girl now, but also of an office going man. No matter how hard he wondered, he couldn't think of a reason why the killer would murder someone so brutally? The only one could be that he or she was a psychopath.

"Hyung, this case is getting more and more twisted. The attacks on me and another murder on the very day that I have been assigned this mission? It seems like the killer has something to do with me."

Jungkook's words made Jimin ponder over it for a while, it was peculiar how so much had happened within a day of Jungkook's taking over the case. Did the killer really have something to do with him?

"Oh! And I have something," Jungkook exclaimed as he drew the inspector's attention.

He pulled out all the mirrors from his pockets and showed it to Jimin. He was shocked when he got to know that the killer left it before running away, it could only mean that they were hints about something.

"The killer definitely wants to tell you something, maybe a threat but it's definitely a message." Jimin's eyes widened a bit as he glanced at Jungkook.

"But what?"

"That I don't know." Jimin shrugged.

They kept looking at the mirrors; trying to find even the faintest clue, but it seemed like they were too tired to think of something.

"Let's look around here, what if there's another mirror? Or anything else?" Jimin suggested.

"Right."

They walked around everywhere, crouching every now and then to focus on tiny things that lay on the ground. It seemed like that wasn't a very good idea because they found nothing; even after the effort of half an hour. Moreover, Jungkook's body was sore. His stab wound, scratches, burns and bruises, everything hurt. He had been too brave throughout, but at the end of the day, he was also human. As much as he could pretend that he felt nothing, he did. And Jimin noticed it.

"Bro, I told you, stop trying to torture yourself. You need affection and care, you need to realise that you're a human with emotions and weaknesses." Jimin softly placed a hand over his shoulder; deeply staring into his eyes with affection.

"I know hyung, I know. But it's pretty hard if I can't actually let myself have it."

"Why not? You deserve it."

"Do I?"

"Don't be so hard on yourself, please."

Before Jungkook could respond, they heard a scream from Yuri's flat. It was her own voice. All the cops were startled and started running there. But Jungkook was leading them all, like his wounds didn't hurt him anymore.
