Island 4. Celeste And The Good Deed
After the mission with the morgen, Celeste fell asleep. When she woke up, she discovered Atlantis and the war with the morgen was nothing more than a dream. A dream so far fetched, that she couldn't even remember what happened and when. She was sitting on something woody, with smelled like fishes and was already soaked. Looking around, she discovered that it was a ship. A pirate ship. But, who was she?
This ship was already wrecked beyond recover. There was no way she was driving it alone in the vast sea. But there was nobody except her. She was all alone, without her crew or her effects, on the banks of Ancient Egypt. She had no memories of who she was or what was she doing prior to waking up.
Where will this amnesia lead her?
Climbing out of her ship, she started walking. It was her first time walking barefoot (she couldn't find her boots or any weapons) so she was kinda happy to walk on both the soft sand. It was a new experience.
It was comfortable, fun and pleasurable. Being able to wiggle her toes, move her feet and feel the textures and temperatures of the soft sand which would sink everytime she walked on, was a pure and simple joy. Her naked feet, everywhere she went, felt so liberating.
But the joy lasted not that long. It had been hours since she was walking and it was only getting harder. When Celeste walked on the sand, the sand yielded under her weight. When she pushed off some of the ground that were meant to support her, everything got pushed away rather than staying in place.
Not only was walking getting difficult, she had started getting hallucinations as well. Just before she had imagined a ship amidst all this sand and now she was seeing a stone cave surrounded with trees... But unlike the ship, this cave didn't disappear when she reached near it. She entered the cave, hesitantly. There could be anything inside.
Now, she had imagined everything that she could've been inside a cave but definitely not this. There was a fountain like thing in between the cave with glowing water. Seeing water again gave her some hope and she rushed towards it to quench her thrist.
After drinking water, she slowly made her way towards the fountain. With steady hands, she touched the fountain but as soon as she did so, it started glowing. Suddenly, she found herself in front of a girl.
"Are you a princess? If so, why don't I know you. Anyways, I'm Sofia." It was a beautiful young girl with fair skin, rosy cheeks, thin pink lips, light blue eyes, and shoulder-length wavy auburn hair. She was wearing a princess gown of a lilac colour with detailed work.
"I'm not a princess. Name's Celeste." Celeste replied in a trance.
"But, that can't be. My amulet is magical. After a deed is performed, it bestows upon it's wearer a power that can be a blessing or curse, depending on whether the deed is good or bad. It also summons the Disney Princesses whenever I need help. If you're here, it means you are brought here my this for my help."
"So, what do you need help for?" Celeste absorbed the information with a nod. Sofia used to live with her mother as a shoemaker. One day, they were asked to make shoes for the king, so they went all the way to Enchancia Castle to deliver slippers to King Roland II. There, the king fell in love with her mother. When her mother and the King married, Sofia became Enchancia's second Princess and the Royal Family's youngest member.
"Actually my bird friends... A hunter captured them and now Clover is really sad. I'm sad too. And frightened. I don't know if I'll be able to save them." Sofia hid her face behind the palm of her hand and started sobbing. It broke Celeste' heart to see the little girl cry. Celeste had a strong urge to sing something to make Sofia feel better.
"Theyโre the few people who accept silence over conversation.
A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion.
You donโt feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words.
Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds.
Theyโre the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn.
Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn.
You forget about first impressions and the feelings they brought.
Youโre grateful for who they are and you forgive โem for what theyโre not."
"You're right Celeste. If I try hard enough, I'll be able to save them." Sofia sounded determined.
"Of course you can! A bird catcher? He'll most probably sell them. You can try to buy the birds from the person he has sold to resolve this quickly. He needs to look out for his family, after all."
"You're right. Let's go."
On their journey, Celeste tried to understand today's protagonist, Sofia. As a neophyte Royal, she struggled to find her place among the world of Royalty and prove herself worthy of her new status. She must had to learn the responsibilities that come with being the bearer of the Amulet of Avalor and it's powers. She'd also find herself caught between things she wants to do as a free spirit and what she must do as a Princess. Her life was tough but, she was handling it just fine. Why couldn't Celeste do the same then?
Whether she remembers herself and everything, was out of her control but, living ahead was totally her choice. And she chose to not look back. Sure, not knowing anything troubled her but, she'd try not to let it bother her.
They reached the hunter and Sofia emptied all her piggy banks to save her bird friends. Just then, the amulet shone and Celeste' all life flashed before her eyes. The locket was rewarding her good deed with her lost memories.
"Thank you so much Princess Celeste. I'll never forget you." Sofia waved, teary eyed.
"Thank YOU Sofia. I'll try to remember you always too. And... I'm not a princess..." Celeste' voice faded along with her body.
What new adventure awaited her now?
