Nishimura Kaiya stood outside of the building, her stomach twisting with anxiety and dread.
Her boyfriend, Suna Rintarou, reached over to grab one of her hands to intertwine their fingers.
"You okay, Kaiya?"
"Fine," Kaiya responded, with a forced smile. "I just... I hate these run throughs."
Suna nodded in agreement, sighing deeply.
For someone who constantly appeared as nonchalant to others, he certainly was very open towards Kaiya.
"I don't like it just as much as you," Suna murmured. "But let's just sit through it, okay?"
Kaiya didn't seem to respond to that and just continued to stare at the towering building.
"Hello Kaiya, hello Suna," a new voice said.
"Hi Kenma," the two chorused.
Kozume Kenma - the son of Thomas O'Malley and Duchess O'Malley; better known as the Aristocats.
"How are you?" Kenma asked quietly.
"Fine, and you?" Kaiya responded.
"I'm good, thanks," Kenma said, a small smile on his face.
An awkward tension filled the air as the three of them continued to stand, Suna's hand still very obviously holding Kaiya's.
It wasn't as if Kaiya and Kenma disliked each other or if Suna and Kenma disliked each other; it's just that this situation was incredibly awkward.
Kenma was fated to the girl that Suna was absolutely head over heels for when he himself didn't have feelings for Kaiya.
Along with that, all three were incredibly well aware that after the fairytale was over, any sort of small feelings that Kaiya and Kenma would have while they were in the fairytale together would vanish the minute that they reached their happily ever after and returned to Enchantia with their old memories restored.
"Why's everyone standing around?! Were you waiting for the life of the party to show up?!"
The small, quick footed villain of the story showed up with a big grin on his face.
"You no longer have to wait! I'm here now!" Nishinoya grinned, puffing out his chest.
"Hi Noya," Kaiya giggled.
"Hi Kaiya! May I just say that you look absolutely beautiful today!" Noya beamed.
"She looks beautiful everyday," Suna muttered under his breath.
Kaiya hit his arm playfully, turning her focus to Noya.
"You've been busy, Noya?"
The son of Simba and Nala smiled wide at the question.
"Just running around! Following Dad and trying to help out at the Pride Lands!"
Kaiya smiled at him and then with a deep breath in, gestured towards the big doors.
"Shall we head in?"

"Welcome to the run through of Blue Spring," the elder at the front of the room announced, his voice echoing throughout the room.
Kaiya snuck a glance over at where Suna was sitting, the two of them forced to be separated.
The main character and the love interest were always required to sit front and center. The side characters and villains were on the sides at the front.
"Let's begin, shall we? If we were to recap, Kaiya has the power to speak to animals and she is currently on a quest to take down the villain, Nishinoya, as he keeps rare animals captive as pets. In her party is Kenma, who is also her love interest, and Suna."
Suna shifted in his seat, ever so slightly.
"Kenma nor Suna have the powers to speak to animals, but Kenma is an excellent navigator and Suna is there as the best fighter of the group. Suna and Kaiya are best friends and Kenma and Kaiya are slowly falling in love with each other as they continue throughout the journey."
Kenma was unable to meet the elder's eyes, and understandably so.
"As the three of them continue on their journey, they run into several minions created by Nishinoya who is manipulated these animals and mutating them into horrible creatures. Suna will initially restrain the enemy, then Kaiya will speak to them and get through to them to help them break from of Nishinoya's curse."
Kaiya glanced over at Nishinoya, who sat still with a rather serious look on his face. It was odd to see the cheerfulness of Nishinoya completely evaporated.
"Kaiya speaking to them breaks the curse and the animals help them figure out which way it is to get to Nishinoya. The three of them finally make it to the Echoless Cliffs where Nishinoya is presumably hiding. The three of them break in and are shocked when they see him ready to fight with an army of animals behind him."
The elder flips the page and peeks over the book to observe the characters. All of them wore frowns on their faces and the elder scowled.
"It would you do all good to pay attention," the elder said in a sharp tone.
"Sorry sir," they apologized quickly.
The elder sighed and went back to the book.
"In the process of fighting all the animals, Kenma, a less skilled fighter compared to Kaiya and Suna, gets horribly wounded in the progress. Kaiya screams in despair and instantly rushes to his side to try and help him. Her scream however calls to all the other animals that she had previously helped before. They show up to help her and with the increased numbers of the heroes, they are able to successfully take down Nishinoya."
Kaiya couldn't help but notice Suna, who was sitting slouched over. This was the hardest part for the both of them to listen to, after all.
"Kaiya, overcome with worry for Kenma is unable to celebrate and she gently leaves him with a goodbye kiss. The kiss however, saves Kenma and he is able to heal from his wounds. The two of them embrace as the animals and Suna celebrate. And they lived Happily Ever After."
The elder happily closes the book and scans the room.
"You are all dismissed."

The tension in air as the four of them left the building was incredibly tense.
"I...I'm gonna take my leave," Kenma said, breaking the silence. "Kuro is waiting for me to meet up with him anyways."
They waved goodbye to the boy as he walked away, his head lowered.
"I'm gonna go too," Noya said. "I should get back to my dad."
Kaiya nodded and then it was just the two of them.
"Are you okay?" Suna asked softly, bringing his hand up to her cheek.
Kaiya forced her head to nod as she knew saying something would likely trigger a wave of tears.
"Let's go home," Suna whispered.
And after the roller coaster of the day, the main character and the side character walked home together, hands held tightly together as if letting go would cause them to come apart for eternity.
