Eddie glanced down at Mazikeen,

"Bathroom?"

Mazikeen slowly nodded and Eddie walked into the private bathroom that was the only one on base that had a bathtub and shower combination. He slowly knelt down and put her on the floor, when he tried to stand back up, she still wouldn't let him go,

"Maz, let me go...I'm going to start a nice hot bath, okay?"

"D-Don't l-leave,"

Eddie frowned and put his hands on her shoulders,

"Maz, I will not leave you, I am only starting the bath so you can get cleaned up,"

Mazikeen slowly nodded and let him go. Eddie sighed and put a hand on her cheek, wiping away the tears,

"I'm sorry I wasn't there faster,"

"I-It's o-okay,"

Eddie shook his head and sighed,

"No...it's not."

He started running the hot water, once it was full, he stopped the water and walked back to Mazikeen. He knelt back down and sighed,

"So...do you want me to help you get into the bath?"

Mazikeen nodded,

"P-Please,"

Eddie nodded and smiled softly at her,

"Um...do you want...do you want to go with clothes or without?"

"W-Without,"

The two blushed. Eddie helped her take off her clothing, picked her up softly, and put her down in the bathtub. Mazikeen immediately started relaxing and closed her eyes. Eddie softly put shampoo in her hair and worked on washing it out. Mazikeen opened her eyes again and stared at Eddie. He looked down at her with a soft smile on his lips,

"You feeling better?"

Mazikeen sighed and nodded,

"Yeah...I...Why? Why did this happen again?"

Eddie sighed and grabbed her hand softly,

"I wish I knew Maz...I'm so fucking sorry I wasn't there to stop him. I should have been there the second you pressed on the bracelet. I am so sorry Maz. I should have stopped him...I should have stopped the other one too,"

Mazikeen chuckled softly,

"Eddie...I didn't know you the first time,"

Eddie slumped down and nodded,

"I know...but maybe if I knew you then, I could have stopped it,"

"Don't be silly. I just started in the army, you were not a new recruit, we would have never met no matter what,"

"I wish we did,"

Mazikeen smiled and squeezed his hand,

"Me too,"

Eddie sighed,

"I promise to make this up to you,"

Mazikeen shook her head,

"Eddie...there is nothing to make up. You saved me,"

Eddie shook his head,

"He left bruises all over your body, Maz. I'm just happy he didn't cause your stab wound to open back up,"

Mazikeen winced,

"Ratchet would have my head on a stick,"

Eddie softly laughed and brushed some hair out of her face,

"Yeah, I can imagine,"

Mazikeen looked at him again,

"He...he kissed me...I don't want him to be my last kiss,"

Eddie's eyes glazed over as he clenched his fist that wasn't holding her hand,

"He...he did...wait no, Maz...you are an amazing girl, anyone would be lucky to have you. I know I was. That dick's not going to be your last kiss,"

Mazikeen shook her head,

"You don't know that,"

Eddie sighed and looked at her,

"We dated for a bit over a year, I think I would know,"

Mazikeen chuckled,

"Yeah, I guess you would, huh,"

Eddie winked at her,

"However, you are impossibly stubborn,"

Mazikeen gasped,

"What? No! I am very patient and understanding-"

"And stubborn,"

Mazikeen splashed him, and he laughed as he wiped his face. Mazikeen smiled at him and he smiled back at her. They got closer to each other again. Mazikeen glanced at his lips for a second before looking back at his eyes,

"Can...can we?"

"For old times?"

Mazikeen nodded. Eddie smiled softly at her and nodded,

"Last one,"

They immediately collided lips and Mazikeen's arms wrapped around his neck and he put his arms under the water and around her torso. Then Mazikeen tugged him closer and he leaned closer until he slipped and fell in. She shrieked as water went all over and Eddie landed on her. He winced and looked at her,

"This is not my fault,"

Mazikeen laughed and pulled him all the way in, and he yelped. He looked at her from his position on top of her,

"Hey, this is giving me deja vu,"

Mazikeen chuckled and kissed him again,

"Yeah, me too,"

Eddie smiled at her and kissed her forehead,

"Maz, let's get you in comfortable clothing,"

Mazikeen sighed and nodded,

"Fine, but you have to rewrap my torso,"

Eddie smiled and nodded at her,

"I know,"

He got out and held out his hand,

"And don't even think about dragging me back down,"

Mazikeen laughed and shook her head,

"I would never,"

Eddie raised his eyebrow at her,

"Oh, really?"

Mazikeen shrugged,

"Fair enough,"

The two were finally out and Eddie wrapped a towel around her,

"I'm going to find you some clothing, wait here,"

Mazikeen nodded, and Eddie left the bathroom. He immediately rummaged through her dresser and laughed when he found his old shirt and pants, and then he also found her undergarments. He threw them at her head and she glared at him but put on the clothing, and he led her back into her room,

"Sit down so I can rewrap your torso,"

Mazikeen nodded, and he finished quickly. Then there was a knock, and Eddie immediately looked at her. Mazikeen was immediately frozen, and Eddie put a hand on her shoulder,

"Hey, if I know you don't want to talk to them, I'll send them away, okay?"

Mazikeen slowly nodded and Eddie walked to the door. He unlocked it and stepped outside and shut it after him. He was greeted by three people. His eyes widened at the third,

"Fig?"

Fig's eyes widened in shock,

"Eddie?"

He immediately turned to the two and pointed at them,

"You two didn't tell me we got Diaz back!"

Will rolled his eyes,

"Focus, Fig,"

Fig immediately nodded and looked at Eddie,

"Can we come in?"

Eddie immediately nodded,

"Yes, go in...she needs you guys,"

They immediately ran in and went to Mazikeen. Mazikeen looked up and when she spotted Fig, she burst into tears and jumped into his arms, 

"Figgle!"

Fig chuckled, 

"I can't leave you alone for three days, huh?"

Mazikeen just kept crying. Fig sighed and tightened his grip on her, 

"I'm sorry, Mynx...we all are. We promised to protect you, and we failed,"

Mazikeen shook her head, 

"You are all here now, and that's what counts,"

Will and Epps immediately joined the hug as she continued to cry it all out. She finally stopped and the three let her go. Will put a hand on her shoulder, 

"Mynx, you need a break,"

Mazikeen immediately shook her head, 

"No, I don't,"

Fig sighed, 

"Mynx, these past few weeks have been hard,"

"I know. But I have been resting,"

Epps crossed his arms, 

"Being passed out is not resting,"

Mazikeen frowned, 

"But my brain is not working when I'm passed out,"

Fig laughed, 

"Yeah, we know,"

Mazikeen sighed, 

"I'll take it easy for a d-"

The world stopped for the three men as they watched her eyes roll to the back of her head and she collapsed, Fig was able to catch her before her head hit the floor, 

"DIAZ!!!!!"

Eddie ran in and gasped, 

"What happened?!"

"SHE JUST PASSED OUT!"

Eddie immediately ran to a loose floorboard and lifted it up to find a first aid kit, He ran back over to the three and took out his flashlight, 

"When was the last time that she got a check-up on her blood pressure?"

Will ran a hand through his hair, 

"Three months ago,"

Eddie nodded, 

"Was it the usual?"

Epps nodded, 

"Yeah,"

Eddie checked her pulse and kept looking through the medical kit, 

"I need her adrenaline booster. If that guy gave her a heavy sedative, it fucked her system up again,"

He looked at them, 

"Where would she put it?"

Will's eyes widened, 

"Ratchet, we have to get her to the medical bay,"

Eddie nodded, 

"Okay, I'll run there,"

Fig cracked his knuckles,

"I'm just gonna go talk to someone,"

"No, Fig. You are a citizen here right now,"

"I don't give a shit,"

"Diaz, go. We will get there as soon as we can,"

Eddie nodded. He picked Mazikeen up and started running.
