Phoenix took over as soon as she was powered on. Mazikeen was fully unconscious as soon as she teleported. Phoenix was able to track Rover but was surprised to see they were in the desert,

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

She flew as fast as she could. Then she heard a groan and noticed Mazikeen was finally conscious after an hour

"Phoenix?"

"Welcome back to the land of the living,"

"Wh-where are we?"

"Egypt,"

Mazikeen finally opened her eyes to see the desert, 

"What the fuck?"

"Yeah, I am currently tracking Rover,"

"Okay, this is fantastic,"

She heard loud arguing and looked down to see a temple, 

"Oh, you have got to be kidding. Please tell me Optimus did not assign those two idiots to my baby brother,"

She flew down and landed. She walked into the large temple to see Mudflap and Skids fighting. She raised her arms just as Mudflap was thrown into the wall, 

"STOP!"

Everyone turned to her and Mazikeen saw one new person and the familiar ex-agent of sector seven. She tilted her head in confusion, 

"Okay, can someone please fill me in? Cuz I see Agent Simmons and I am praying that it's an illusion,"

Sam was first to move as he screamed, 

"MAZE!"

Mazikeen laughed as she held her baby brother in her arms, 

"Hey, Sammy, sorry I'm late,"

Rover walked up to her and crossed his arms, 

"You are like two days late,"

Mazikeen laughed and let go of Sam to pick up Rover, 

"Yeah, I know...wait...two days?"

Mikaela walked up to her and pulled her into a hug, 

"Yeah,"

Mazikeen let her helmet go down as she stared at the two in confusion, 

"I...I was only gone a day. I wasn't knocked out that long...I...I had no idea,"

She heard a huff and looked down to see Tex, 

"TEX!"

Tex laughed and jumped into her arms, 

"Mom!"

Mazikeen laughed, 

"So, you did meet Sammy,"

Tex nodded, 

"Yes, we fought off a Pretender together!"

Mazikeen frowned, 

"A what?"

Bumblebee was the next Autobot to move and poked her with his digit, 

"Pretender is a humanoid Decepticon,"

Mazikeen slowly nodded, 

"Okay, checks out for sure,"

Leo shook his head, 

"CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT'S GOING ON?!"

Mazikeen glanced at him, 

"So, who is this dude?"

Sam sighed, 

"This is my roommate, Leo, he kinda got caught up in this,"

Mazikeen slowly nodded, 

"Fun...I'm Maze, Sammy's older sister...now...what are we doing in Egypt?"

Mudflap smirked proudly, 

"Looking for the Matrix!"

Mazikeen tilted her head in confusion, 

"Matrix?"

Sam sighed and nodded, 

"Yeah...to bring back Optimus,"

Mazikeen took a step back in shock, 

"Optimus?"

Mikaela put a hand on Sam's shoulder as none of the Autobots would look Mazikeen in the eye, 

"What...what do you mean to bring back Optimus?"

Sam frowned, 

"He...He was killed by Megatron...he died protecting me,"

Mazikeen sighed and looked at her brother, 

"So. Where is this Matrix?"

Mikaela shrugged, 

"Somewhere here,"

"How did you find this place?"

Sam blushed and sighed, 

"I have been seeing these letters and symbols ever since Mission City...we tracked them over here,"

Mazikeen slowly nodded her head and put Phoenix back into her device that stayed on her chest. Sam's eyes widened at her tattered military clothes, 

"Maze-"

Mazikeen smiled at him softly and shook her head, 

"Not now. Let's go find this Matrix. If this is where the Primes died defending it, only we can go into it, no Cybertronian can,"

Tex pouted while the others nodded. Mazikeen pointed her fingers and Mudflap and Skid,

"You two better behave, no more fighting,"

They raised their servos in defense and nodded, 

"We promise,"

Mazikeen nodded and glanced at Jazz. She frowned when he wouldn't meet her eyes. She looked at Simmons and put a hand out, 

"Let's restart, I'm Mazikeen Witwicky, Liaison of the Autobots,"

"Seymour Simmons, former Agent of Sector Seven,"

Mazikeen nodded and they shook their hands. Mazikeen looked at the hole that Mudflap created, 

"Well, let's get going. Phoenix, you stay here and deployed just in case,"

Phoenix deployed and stood before Mazikeen and nodded her head, 

"Okay,"

Mazikeen smiled at her creation and looked at Tex, 

"Tex, you stay with Jazz or Bumblebee at all times, unless Sammy gets separated from them, then you find him and stick with him,"

Tex saluted with a smile, 

"Okay, I will do as asked, Maze,"

Mazikeen smiled and Mikaela grabbed her left wrist and she winced, 

"Hey hey, no touching the bad wrist,"

Mikaela glared at her, 

"You have a broken wrist, you need to get it wrapped first,"

Mazikeen sighed and nodded, 

"I know, and I will,"

Sam ripped his pants a little and handed the cloth to Mazikeen, 

"Come on, wrap it now, then we will go find the Matrix,"

Mazikeen rolled her eyes but tightly wrapped the cloth on her wrist as she winced again, 

"Okay, now we can go,"

Simmons sighed, 

"Yes, so we can get this over with and get that big Prime backup,"

Mazikeen nodded, 

"We need him,"

Sam looked at his sister and grabbed her hand, 

"After this, I'm taking you home with me,"

Mazikeen sighed and looked at him, 

"Sammy-"

"No. Let me take care of you for a change,"

Mazikeen sighed and looked at him, 

"We will discuss this later,"

Rover nodded, 

"I third this,"

Mazikeen laughed and put Rover on Sam's shoulder, 

"I know you do, let's get going,"

They slowly moved into the hole and Mazikeen glanced back once to finally meet the Optics of Jazz. She smiled at him before looking back to her brother and his friends. 

𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐳

Bumblebee immediately nudged Jazz and crossed his arms. Jazz looked at Bumblebee, 

"What?"

Bumblebee pointed at the hole that the humans just walked into, 

"Why are you being a stranger?"

"I'm not,"

Mudflap laughed, 

"Buddy, you wouldn't even look at Maze,"

Skid nodded, 

"Yeah, and that's coming from us,"

Jazz sighed and crossed his arms, 

"I don't want to talk about it right now,"

Tex poked his foot, 

"Jazz, that's my mom in there, the same one that was taken, no different,"

Jazz looked down at Tex and sighed, 

"She probably hates me...I failed her,"

Bumblebee nudged his shoulder, 

"You have never failed,"

Jazz glanced at him and nodded, 

"I failed her,"

Mudflap sighed, 

"Then talk to her,"

"Yeah, when they come out talk to her,"

"You can not avoid,"

Jazz sighed, 

"Fine fine, when they get out I might,"

They turned to see Simmons and Leo walking out, Simmons was looking at his radio, 

"They are coming, we have to start leaving!"

Jazz looked down at the two, 

"Where are the others?"

Simmons sighed, 

"The Matri turned to pixie dust. Sam is putting it all in a bag and Mazikeen and Mikaela are with him still,"

Leo nodded, 

"We aren't fucked just yet,"

Jazz sighed and looked to see the three running out.

"Sam! I can see them!"

Mazikeen let Phoenix encase her again and flew up to Jazz's shoulder to sit on it. She glanced at her guardian, 

"Hey, we okay?"

Jazz sighed and looked at her, 

"Yeah,"

Mazikeen nodded, 

"Okay, good...we will talk after?"

Jazz nodded and held up his digit to her hand, 

"After,"

She nudged his digit with her finger and Jazz transformed. Mazikeen sat in her designated spot and Tex climbed in to sit on her lap, 

"Let's fight some cons!"

Mazikeen laughed and nodded, 

"Yeah,"
