20) Bitchy Bella

Bella winced when she saw the deep mark on her tongue. Those good for nothing friends of her's had left her for first period while she was stranded alone in the bathroom trying to stop her tongue from bleeding.

She stared at her reflection in the mirror to at least make sure her mascara hadn't smudged when a couple of tears had fallen through the lashes.

The dark droplets of blood slowly slipped down her lip and fell in droplets while her focus remained on her doe brown eyes. The droplets formed a little red vine as they slowly slid to the bottom of sink and gathered there.

The light above the sink turned off, before it came back on, making Bella bring her attention back to her wounded tongue. She frowned at the school's lack of functioning electricity as she dabbed tissues on her wound.

But then all the lights turned of before blinking back on, and the speed increased. Dumping her tissues into the bin as the flickering lights become too horror movie like for her to handle, Bella picked up her purple bag and was ready to leave the room.

Cursing as she knocked down her water bottle with her bag, the curly haired girl bent down to pick it up before standing up straight again.

And then the lights went off. Leaving the one windowed room almost dark as night.

Bella's heartbeat picked up pace as she turned away from the mirror. She wasn't scared of the dark, that wasn't the issue. Goosebumps pricked on her skin as she denied what she has seen in the mirror.

A dark figure with three burning red eyes.

Bella sucked in a deep breath in the now confining room as the corner light near the door sparked the moment the thought of making a dash towards the door, crossed her mind.

Well, that thought dissappeared as soon as she saw what was below the light. Big brown eyes, tangled black hair and a pair of oversized clothes. The girl stared at her as if possessed before she started taking slow steps towards Bella.

Bella gulped as she took retreating steps while she felt her throat go dry. She felt her back press against the cold sink as the light above it flickered once more before the room went dark.

The chocolate skinned girl opened her mouth to scream for help before a pair of fragile muffled her strangled cry.

Bella felt someone push her down before she felt herself falling to ground with a weight on top of her. Her head throbbed at the impact it had made with the corner of the sink and it was only multiplied as the floor under her made contact with the back of her head.

The faraway light flickered on showing Bella the girl's jagged face. Her eyes had turned dark and resembled the bags underneath them.

Bella struggled to get the girl off her while her vision became blurry, making her blink multiple times to stay in focus. Nevertheless, no matter how much she pushed, the girl wouldn't even move an inch. And the longer Bella stared at the demonic face the more she felt like crying at how scary and evil the girl looked.

Bella let out a silent sob as the figure above her dug her nails into the corner of mouth. Her head felt like it was about to explode while her tears mixed with the bleeding cheeks.

I don't want to die

She thought as memories of her life flashed past her. "Please," she managed to squeak out. Bella was too young to die, she wanted to become Prom Queen and marry Derek and be a mom. She was too young to die.

New tears formed at the corners of Bella's eyes she stared at the pair of now reddish eyes. The last life she saw before she felt something pierce her right in the heart. Her body jerked upwards as she gave out a noiseless, throttled whimper until she saw nor heard no more.

Ryan tightened the grip on his bag as he hurried towards the grounds with the other restless students. The cold air hit him hard as he stepped out of the building, but this time, it didn't seem as friendly as it did in the morning when he'd woken up to Kylie singing Christmas carols at the top of her voice in the shower.

The voices around him seemed had blended into one blend of horror.

Did you see her body?

I saw Kylie screaming like crazy

Bro I heard her, it happened in the washroom near Mr. Lynch's classroom.

I heard that Bella's parents are here already.

Ryan let out a tired breath of air as he stopped near the white bleachers. Rubbing his sweaty palms on his faded jeans, he scanned the crowd any friendly faces.

Two students had died in the span of 3 months. The police couldn't possibly ignore the disappearances anymore. Most of the town already believed it was cursed, and the fact that deaths were happening instead of disappearances just increased the people's superstitions that the town was haunted.

Ryan winced at the memory of Kylie clinging onto the dead cheerleader's body. Having being the one who found Bella's dismantled body, Kylie had...gone crazy to say the least. She'd remembered how she'd found Kyle's body the same way and had kept on screaming his name like a madwoman until she'd been sedated with sleeping pills.

Ryan sighed with relief when he saw Anther approaching him along with Alexa and Cathy. Cathy's eyebrows were knitted with worry while Anther just looked plain tired and Alexa, for once, looked scared.

"Can I have your attention please?" Said a deep voice, bringing everyone's attention to the front. Principle Wales looked around at his students before continuing. "As most of you know," he began and Ryan was sure everyone felt a sense of Deja vu as it was the same way Principle Wales had begun his speech about Kyle's death.

"There's a killer on the loose," he continued.

"Killer?" Cathy scoffed. "First animal and now a killer."

"-And within these past few months, we've lost two very important students. First was Mr. Kyle Bloom and now Miss Isabella Lewis. Precautions need to be taken, hence, school will be closing early for today. And till further notice, will remain closed." He said as he paused to look up at the on looking crowd. Normally cheers would have been heard throughout the grounds at the news. But instead, there was suffocating silence that clogged the air with tension.

That was until a sob broke out.

One of the girls that been with Bella when she'd spoken to Alexa, pressed her hand to her mouth before turning and running away while everyone's eyes watched her. Cathy's included. She watched as boy with wavy blonde locks whispered something to his friends before tearing after the girl.

Seeing the boy separating from a certain group that Cathy detested, her eyes scanned each member of the group, the abcense of Zack making her calm down a bit. She heard he'd been expelled for being caught with weed, but he was a teacher's son after all, so Cathy didn't believe it much, but now that she thought about it, she hadn't seen Ms. Garcia at school either.

Snapping herself back to earth, Cathy focused on the group of boys were trying to calm down a frustrated looking Derek.

Cathy watched as he continued to run his hands through his dark hair while yelling profanities at his friends. "Were Derek and Bella close?" She absentmindly asked while her eyes never left him.

"I don't know actually," Alexa said as Principle Wales spoke about tomorrow's game being postponed. "I know they had something going on but I'm not sure if they actually cared about each other."

The crowd slowly began to fade and the four of them took that as their cue to head towards the gate. The entire school of gloomy teens walked under the clouded sky in silence, neither of them knowing what to say.

"Guys can you wait for me?" Ryan suddenly said. "I'm gonna go get Kylie."

Nodding or muttering a quiet "sure" reply, the remaining three students stared after the blonde head before he turned a corner and disappeared into the building.

The sound of thunder softly rumbled in the sky above while the hair on the back of their necks stood upright. Alexa rubbed the back of her neck as her lips parted and goosebumps rose on her arms. The familiar feeling of being watched started to sink in and she immediately snapped her head towards the direction of the woods, the same time Anther and Cathy did.

Hidden behind the dark trees, glowed three ominous red dots. Each one settling on the theee remaining teens, watching their eyes widen and devouring the negative emotions in, and around them. Alexa felt her lungs contract within her and for some odd reason, all she seemed to want to do, was curl into a ball and start crying.

She closed her eyes to blink away the piling moisture around them, but when she opened them, there was nothing but dark trees opposite her.

Alexa's felt her pupils dilate the slightest before they returned to normal. She took a step forward before she felt a sense of warmth envelope her wrist. A high contrast to the cold that had settled around them.

Knowing the rough skin could only belong to Anther, Alexa shook his grip off and spoke while keeping her eyes fixed on the trees. "I won't go far," she said before heading towards the woods.

A few drops of early rain fell on her forehead and rolled down her cheeks. The air hung with light fog as her sneakers squelched with each contact it made with the damp grass. Alexa slowed down to stop in front of the high fence as she gulped when her suspicions were confirmed. Words had been carved onto the wood of the nearest tree.

I'm watching you

Alexa cursed before turning back and hurrying towards the gate. "I'm watching you," she said as she faced Anther and Cathy's confused faces. "Those words were carved into the tree.

Cathy ran a hand through her already messy hair and groaned while Anther said out loud, "Where the hell is Ryan?" And no sooner had the words left his mouth did they hear Ryan's scream.

"Help me!"

The same dreaded thought that something bad had happened, ran through everyone's mind as they prepared themselves for the worst. But their fear was quickly dissmised when they saw Ryan running towards them with Kylie over his shoulder. Her unconscious blonde head bouncing upside down as Ryan jogged down the steps.

"She's too heavy," he groaned while steading Kylie's bag onto his shoulder and letting Kylie herself slip.

Anther muttered something under his breath disapprovingly before removing Kylie off Ryan and adjusting her in his arms so she was comfortable.

"Are you trying to get cosy with my sister?" Ryan asked looking horrified while being oblivious to the tension around them.

"Ryan." Anther said through gritted teeth as if what he was about to say had already been said countless times. "I like Kylie like a sister," he said, making a clear emphasis on the word 'sister' while glaring at Ryan. "I've known her my entire life and she's nothing more than a sister to me so can we please get the hell out of here?!"

"Sheesh ok I-" began Ryan before he was cut off by a slap on the back of his head by Alexa as the rain begun to pour harder. Other than the moody security, they were the only ones left near the gate. Scared and soaking.

"What is wrong w-"

"Ryan shut up," this time Cathy cut him off and walked out of the gate with Alexa. Anther murmured a soft "I'll explain later" to Ryan before adjusting Kylie and walking out as the rain continued to increase.
