THE DARKNESS SWIRLED AROUND HER CURLED FORM ON THE FOREST FLOOR tendrils of inkling bleak reminders of her solitude. The silence echoing in her ears was the constant white noise that never shut up. Her head swam in the fire burning inside, the only smouldering embers of a time where there had been other presences with her, around her, in her. But now, the void had been slowly filled with a cold, howling storm of fear that refused to ever let up.
She was completely and utterly alone in her mind, body, soul, and most of all, entirely alone in the world.
It had been a few days since her departure from her deceased family and the blonde had already convinced herself that she had no time to mourn just to survive.
Her mind, her soul and her entire being was empty. No longer feeling.
It was like a void. A dark void. A never ending dark void that consumes everything, so your left feeling nothing. Empty. Nothing to subside your hollow soul that creeps in the shadows, away from any other human life because it's emptiness is so consuming it cannot bare to pretend that everything is okay.
So she didn't.
Her boots crunched on the dead leaves carpeting the ground, their many colours, a true mosaic. The richness of the damp forest floor made all more glorious.
Her pale hands clenched her dagger strongly as her eyes followed movement in the green foliage. Her dagger flew towards it's target only for her to hear a loud scream.
Curiously the girl moved towards the dense foliage only to see a young boy, not more than her age. His dark face contorted in pain as he hand struggled to reach the dagger in his leg.
Grunting the girl struggled to carry the larger boy to the cave she had chosen to reside in. Her hand removing the embedded dagger and immediately replacing it with a bunch of leaves she had found.
The boy studied her Her face wasn't anything extraordinary or significant, and yet, he felt somehow magically draw to those serious and silent features. Though she always avoided his gaze, he couldn't help but notice her clean skin, along with her messy hairstyle.. Perhaps many would consider her homely, but he found her awe-striking.
The boy cleared his throat loudly bringing her attention to him "Hey there Cinderella, I'm Couver and I'd like to be your Prince Charming"
The girl stared at him blankly before the edges of her mouth twitches and she gave him gave him a genuinely sweet smile with just the right touch of shyness that unexpected warmth rushes through Couver "Nice to meet you Couver, I'm Gracie!"
Couver revels in her voice. the girl had a voice that was like music under a summer breeze, almost lost against the noise of the Monday morning traffic. Yet somehow it took hold of Couver ,making him want to listen all the more.
So the two conversed quietly throughout the night.
The next day, Gracie gave him a smile and said her goodbyes planning to part with the injured boy. But he couldn't bear to leave her so he said the only thing he could "Come with me"
Gracie stopped in her track her eye brow raised urging the boy to continue with his statement "Come with me to my village. They would take care of you!"
Gracie snorted unattractively "You're grounder Couver, I doubt they would be happy to see me."
But the boy was lenient and insisted she should come with him " My people aren't savages, Cinderella, you're a little girl they won't hurt you"
This lead to internal conflict in Gracie's head, her mind ached for a bed and food but most importantly her heart ached for company so she agreed.
Couver internally squealed and the two children began their journey "Hey Gracie did it hurt when you fell from heaven"
"No, but I did scrape my knees when I crawled up from hell."

Gracie and Couver walked hand in had into his village.
Her nails were already bitten down to the quick. She nibbled at their frayed, form edges like a famished mouse.
She was nervous.
But if they threw her out? Even worse but if they killed her? A floodgates of anxiety rushed through the blonde.
Couver noticed and squeezed Gracie's hand in comfort which lead to him receiving a thankful smile in return.
"Hey Cinderella, you look ill. You must be suffering from Vitamin ME"
Gracie's smile immediately turned into a scowl as she smacked the top of the boy's head "Shut up Romeo!"
Couver could not help the suave smile that plastered it's way onto his lips "So now we got nicknames for each other" Gracie's scowl continued to grow as she glared at the boy and simply walked passed him.
Her ears blocking out his cries of 'don't leave me!' Yet Gracie couldn't lie to herself the boy had managed to bring her mood up and for that she was thankful.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by a familiar face making her way into Gracie's line of sight. Gracie's ocean eyes slowly filled with tears and before her mind could comprehend it she was running and hugging her tightly. Tears dripping from her cheeks to her tattered shirt. Her arms encircled Gracie, making her forget where she was except for the smiling face in front of her.
"Hey Aunt Tavia"
