𓏲 ࣪₊♡𓂃 ROSALIE REFUSED TO LEAVE THE ROOM, she was frightened to say the least, not only of what she had become but also because she didn't want to be alone for the rest of her life. Nobody could guarantee that she'd manage to find some happy vampire family to live with forever, or that Nathan would stick around for eternity.

After a long talk with Nathaniel about vampirism, she felt a fear she'd never felt before, an even greater fear than the night she had turned. Her fingers tapped rapidly onto the mattress beneath her, her hands resting beside her dress-covered thighs, propping her upright whilst Nathan was sat on the floor opposite her, his back up against the wall with one leg straight in front of him and the other bent upwards.

It was silent for a while, they'd talked about so much that now they had nothing to speak about, what do you chat about with somebody that just turned you into an immortal monster? Rosalie was overthinking, something she never did as a human, she was always wild and free, and if she ever happened to overthink about anything, it'd be about positive things such as the idea of a family, a house to clean, to be able to cook a dinner for more than three.

She cleared her throat, catching the attention of Nathan, "I have two brothers. They're both four." She stated randomly and one of his eyebrows furrowed in confusion to her opening up. Considering she was stuck with life until one was to rip her apart and burn the pieces, there was no point in hiding herself from him... maybe the bad parts.

"Both?" Nathaniel questioned, and Rosalie looked up from her bare feet to his eyes, nodding with a distant smile. She wanted nothing more than to run out of that house and head straight for her home to cuddle her brothers and tell them it was okay — except for blood.

"They're twins. The oldest is Isaiah, dark eyes, golden hair and the youngest is Elijah, hazel eyes and blond. They're both such handsome boys, I miss them." Rosalie squeezed her eyes shut, the pain unbearable both physically and emotionally. Nathaniel pressed his lips together in a sad smile, his arm resting on his knee as he watched her try to hold back tears that would never try to escape.

"I had a sister." He spoke up, and her eyes fluttered open, staring over at him as he picked at the seams of his trousers, "She's probably gone by now, her name was Mary. Older than me by three years, I miss her too." There wasn't any tears or even a hint of sadness in Nathaniel's tone, he was emotionless about leaving his family at that point in time. He'd cried about it too much in the past, and now there was no point anymore, dry-sobbing wouldn't bring his family back.

"How'd you turn?" Rosalie asked, swinging her legs off of the bed and Nathan scrunched his brows. It'd been so long that he couldn't even remember how he died, or who turned him. He stared at the frilling of her dress, squeezing his eyes closed every few seconds in attempt to remember.

"I'm actually... I don't remember." He shook his head, finally looking her in her bright red eyes. He couldn't remember how he turned, but he did remember that it would probably be best if Rosalie fed, "Anyway, you need to feed or you'll starve." He pushed himself up off of the floor with ease and wiped off his black trousers, along with his blazer, the dust falling back onto the floor.

"On...?" She tilted her head, he never specified the type of blood she had to drink. He only mention human blood, but couldn't she drink animal blood as well, "On a human?"

"Well, that's up to you, beautiful. I have blood bags from the nearby hospital in the fridge, if you'd prefer? Though, it won't satisfy you completely." Nathaniel explained, his eyes glued to the side of her face as he stood by the open door leading to the hallway, and her eyes were stuck on the wooden flooring, unable to look away due to fear of hurting someone.

Slowly, Rosalie looked up from the floor and her eyes trailed from his shoes, to his trouser, to his shirt and to his face, locking onto his red eyes. Her own eyes were sore, she wasn't sure why they hurt so badly, but they did. It felt as if someone was sawing at her brain towards her eye sockets, similar with her throat, the difference being her oesophagus was burning like hell itself.

Nathaniel noticed her teary eyes and he cleared his throat, unsure of what to suggest when he remember about a friend he'd met a long time ago, "I had this friend, his name was Carlisle. He was incredibly kind and friendly, and he always assisted me when needed. But, he was different. He didn't feed on humans like most other vampires, he actually fed on animals."

"Animals? Like dogs and cats, or birds and squirrels?" Rosalie's guesses almost made Nathan burst out laughing right there, but he caught it in his throat, trying his hardest to be sensitive. He knew she was struggling, and to have somebody humiliate her wouldn't be very helpful.

"Uh, no, more like coyotes and deer. I actually fed on a deer once, it wasn't bad, it just didn't satisfy me enough." He shrugged, stuffing his hands in his pockets as she just stared at him, innocent and confused. He could see all of her emotions just from the look in her eyes, though that wasn't his gift. He was just exceptional at assessing one's mood, "At the time, I had nothing to live for, I was a miserable and lonely asshole. Of course, I found a hobby. I don't kill innocent people like most of our kind do, I feed on the evil."

"The evil? Who would class as the evil?" Rosalie questioned, her hands fiddling in her lap nervously. Her whole body was on fire, burning with anticipation that urged for her to go outside and drain the blood of the first human she could see. In that moment, she couldn't care less about who it was, if they were innocent nor guilty, she just didn't care.

Nathaniel went to open his mouth to answer, but snapped it back shut when Rosalie jumped up, clawing at her throat in pain. He rushed forwards, his hands on her shoulders as he assessed her. She was hungry, he knew she was. She felt the exact same way he did when he first turned, only he was starved by his creator, the first drop of blood he ever tasted was a month after he turned. Fortunately, he couldn't remember a thing.

"You're hungry. Stay here." Nathan looked into her eyes, and she nodded, but the look in her eyes told him otherwise. Her expression, her body language, everything told him that she was lying and that she was going to jump out the window the second he left the room, "Rosalie, you have to listen to me. You're going to get yourself killed, or worse, if you leave now. You have to be trained, or you'll lose yourself."

Rosalie didn't reply, she reached her hands up from her neck to her face, rubbing at her sore eyes aggressively, hoping it would soothe the pain but it did the exact opposite. Her senses were stronger than that of a usual vampire, she was a newborn, she could smell blood further than any other creature and she could hear every sound for miles. Luckily, Alexandria was one of the quieter towns in Virginia, meaning that she wasn't overloaded with a million different voices.

Suddenly, the scream of a red fox was heard and Rosalie's head snapped towards the window. She sped over, faster than she'd expected and her eyes widened, looking down at her bare feet in shock. She quickly recovered from her short dose of shock towards her speed, Nathaniel had already told her about the speed of a vampire, and she stared out the wide open window over at the fox at the entrance of the forest right outside the house.

Before Nathaniel could even comprehend what she was doing, she was already out of the room and out of the house. He rolled his eyes, following her out of the room and into the sunlit world he hated so much. He groaned as the sunrise shined onto his face, causing it to glimmer like a disco ball and he watched as Rosalie hid from the unaware fox, watching it like a hawk with its pray.

He quietly made his way over to her, ducking down beside the tree as she stood on the dirt with her bare feet, not a care in the world about it. All she had her mind on was the pulse of the fox that happily munched on the corpse of a squirrel in a bush just a few metres away, "Focus on the heartbeat. Wait until it lets its guard down, and..."

His voice was but a whisper, and once the fox close it's eyes, enjoying the bloodied meat, Rosalie pounced, grabbing it by it's fur and sinking her teeth into it's neck like a natural, unbothered about the squeal the fox made at the sharp pain. Nathaniel moved away from the tree and watched in awe as she moaned, enjoying the taste of the blood she had craved for so long.

Once it was completely dry of blood, she dropped the dead animal, wiping the blood from her mouth with the back of her hand. There was still blood all over the bottom section of her pale face, and all down her dress, though it was already a wine red, so it didn't make much of a difference.

"Be any messier, why don't you?" Nathaniel teased, strolling over to her and the corpse. With ease, he picked up the fox from the dirt-covered ground and stuffed it into the bush with the squirrel, making that its grave.

Rosalie stood up, watching as he hid the body and she turned her head, staring further into forest. His back was turned to her, he was too busy hiding the legs with branches and leaves, he was easily distracted in that way. But one snap of a twig and he looked over, watching as the blonde sped into the woods, running off once again.

"Seriously?" He let out a loud sigh of annoyance and took off after her, not wanting her to get herself in any trouble. After all, he was the one who had turned her, she was his responsibility. Nathan didn't mind it though, it didn't feel like a chore, or a burden on him, he actually enjoyed Rosalie's company for whatever reason.

He liked her, no matter how much she was irritating him.
