// Daniel's Pov //

"You want me to do want Soda," I ask again hoping to hear him his time.

"I asked you to watch Ponyboy for a while. Darry and I are going somewhere for about a month and he doesn't like being alone. So, could you watch him?"

"I-i guess so. . . I don't​have anything better to do anyway," I say.

"Great! Darry and I have to leave in about an hour. Ponyboy already knows about us leaving so you should be fine. He's out with Two-Bit right now so he should be home soon."

"Why can't Two-Bit watch him?"

"Frankly, I don't trust him all that well. I don't trust Dally that much either so I asked you. Your a nice and responsible person."

"Thanks for thinking that I guess."

"No problem Daniel."

Soda walks into his room and begins to pack for his and Darry's trip. Darry was already I. His room packing when Soda came to ask me. At least they trust me enough to watch their little brother while they're gone. That makes me feel slightly better about the situation. But what am I supposed to do about money?

I do not have a lot of it. Sure I got a job at the market that pays decent amount. But will that be enough for the two of us? His brothers are only leaving for a month. . . Well, I say let's hope for the best and hope that the money would be enough.

Darry comes out of his room with a few bags in his hands and sets them on the couch. Sighing, he sits down next to his bags and looks around the room. He mumbles something under his breath that I do not understand and stands up, leaving down the hall again. What is he mumbling about. . . Did I do something wrong?

About five minutes later, Soda walks out with a few bags in his hands. He walks over to the door and places a bag down to open it. Opening the door, he grabs his bags and walks outside. Darry comes out of the hall and does the same thing. They come through the door at the same time and sit on the couch.

"Thanks for watching Ponyboy Daniel. You sure he won't be any trouble," Darry asks.

"He won't be any trouble Darry. I'm sure of it," I say reassuring him.

Darry nods slowly and turns to Soda. They start whispering things that I don't understand so I stare at the ground. What is up with all the whispering? It's gonna drive me insane if they don't stop. . . They continue to whisper for a few more minutes.

The door bursts open and Two-Bit walks through, Ponyboy trailing behind him. Soda and Darry stand up and walk over to them. Two-Bit walks to the kitchen and I hear him rummaging through the fridge. Darry and Soda hug Ponyboy before stepping back to look at him. He looks at the two questioningly​.

"Darry and I found you a babysitter for when we are gone. Be good and don't cause any trouble," Soda says.

"Wait? Who's my babysitter," Ponyboy questions.

"Daniel is your babysitter so do not cause any trouble. Don't even ask why none of the gang is your babysitter. You know why, that aren't very responsible," Darry says looking between Ponyboy and I.

{ Ponyboy's Pov }

"Alright Darry. You didn't have to be sassy though," I say looking at Darry.

He rolls his eyes at me and crosses his arms over his chest. I do the same trying to mock him. Daniel chuckles softly and taps his foot on the living room floor. Soda looks between Darry and I and then bursts out laughing. I chuckle slightly and uncross my arms and put them by my side.

Darry rolls his eyes again before smiling at me. He walks over and pulls me into a tight hug. Letting go, he stands next to Soda and just stands there. Soda hugs me next and pulls away. I look at them sadly, knowing that they have to leave now.

"It's time for us to go Ponyboy," Soda says sadly.

"I know," I reply.

"Hey, we'll be home before you know it. Be good for Daniel please?"

I nod my head and smile lightly. They nod before finally walking towards the door, leaving. You could hear the car engine start from outside. I look out of the window to see the car pull out of the driveway and drive off down the road. I save sadly even though they couldn't see me.

"Bye," I mumbled quietly.

I hear a sign from behind me and turn around. Daniel stands there with his arms crossed over his chest and he's smiling lightly. At least he's watching me and not Two, Steve, or Dal. Not that I don't want them to it's just they wouldn't care if I did anything, they wouldn't watch me. Daniel opens his arms for a hug and I walk over and wrap my arms around him and bury my head in his shoulder.

"They'll be back soon Ponyboy​, do not you worry about it," he says softly trying to soothe me.

It works for the most part and he rubs my back slowly. If Dally, Steve, or Two-Bit would've watched me, they wouldn't have done this. They would've said grow up and tell me to stop being a baby. I'm not a baby, I just miss my brothers because my parents are gonna. Without my brothers, I do not have a family.

It's just me and my brothers left. If they got hurt or died I'd be put in a boy's home without a second thought. Everyone else tells me to stop worrying a put them by I can't. They are my family and I have a right to worry about them. But it is only a month that they'll be gone for, will I last that long without them?

*gasp* and update? Yeah, I'm back. I couldn't think of what to do until my friend helped. So I !Anaged to write this, no sit back and watch chemistry at its finest. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I'll see you all soon.
