Mystery Glowing Eyes
(Y/N)'s head was spinning and she leans her body slightly against Steven's for support. The girl soon releases that now Ozzy was nowhere to be seen and the ring on her finger was back to being a bracelet.
When the bus arrives at their destination, the duo quickly disembark and glance back into the bus. (Y/N) lets out a noise seeing who was in there, Arthur Harrow. "Oh, my god. He's real." She speaks what both their minds screamed.
Steven in a panic, grabs (Y/N)'s wrist and tugs her along the street, crossing it and walked at a fast rate into their workplace. They both go over to the front desk with Steven talking to J.B while (Y/N) looked around for Arthur.
"(Y/N). Stevie. Can you take these downstairs?" Donna comes over, holding a box of something. "Take it downstairs now." She repeats seeing the duo now responding.
The (H/C) haired girl glances over Steven's shoulder, eyes widening seeing who was there. "Oh, my god. That man was on the bus."
Donna scoffed, not caring. "I don't give a monkey's. Take these downstairs.."
(Y/N)'s eyes left eye twitches, snapping at the woman. "Will you.. please just give us a minute?" She spoke through gritted teeth, feeling her palms getting warm again. "Yeah? Thanks, Donna." She goes to walk towards the man, Steven right on her heels.
"You're still on inventory tonight." Donna calls out to them.
(Y/N) and Steven creep around a corner, seeing the man walk that way. The male going first in case anything happened.
"So you two really do work here." A sudden males voice made the best friend jump in their skins, turning around to see Arthur with his cane.
"I'd assumed Steven Grant was an alias. Imagine my surprise to find you both here." He kept talking, walking over to the duo who jumped back.
Steven turns around, trying to get the security guard to help. "Excuse me, Ronnie. This man right here has been following us." He explains as Ronnie strides over. "Now, I don't know.."
He trails off, only to stop seeing Ronnie lift his sleeve up, showing a tattoo. "Praise Ammit."
"Thank you." Arthur thanks as (Y/N) grabs Steven arm, pulling him back away from the now emeny.
"Ronnie, you're part of this?" Steven breathed out, pointing to the male behind them.
(Y/N) gritted her teeth, having enough of the constant issues involving herself and Steven. "Mate, we don't have your bloody beetle. I swear.." She snaps.
Arthur shakes his head, placing a hand over his chest. "Oh, no. The scarab doesn't belong to me. It belongs to her." He placed the same hand on the painting. "Do you two know Ammit?"
"Do we know Ammit.." Steven trails off and shakes his head also. "No, not personally. Egyptian deity, right? World's first bogeyman." He kept walking backwards with (Y/N).
Arthur chuckles. "She was only the bogeyman for evildoers."
(Y/N) bumped in something, almost tripping over if it weren't for Steven's strong grip on her wrist. "Right."
"She grew weary of having to wait for sinners to commit their crime before punishing them." The older male adds on. "Would you wait to weed a garden till after the roses were dead?" He asked the two of them.
"We wouldn't do that." Steven replies.
"The justice of Ammit surveys the whole of our lives. Past, present, future. She knows what we've done, and what we will do." He continues explaining, still backing the best friends up.
"Great. Okay. Well, the books must have left that part out." (Y/N) inquires as her and Steven try to walk away, only for the doors to close with a guy coming at them now. They go in different directions, to get more people pulling up their sleeve.
"Consider this.." Arthur got in front of the two, more so directly in front of (Y/N) which made Steven tense up. "Had Ammit been free, she would have prevented Hitler and the destruction he wrought. Nero, the Armenian genocide, Pol Pot." He got closer again.
"Not nice people." Steven comments.
"But she was betrayed."
"Was she?"
"By the indolent fellow gods." Arthur says slowly.
(Y/N) sighs in disgust while he went on, "By even her own Avatar."
"Avatars. Blue people. Love that film." Steven adds, making (Y/N) hide her laugh.
"By Avatar, what I mean.." Arthur trails off.
"You mean the anime?" (Y/N) then adds, biting her lip to stop herself from cackling.
"(Y/N), Steven. Stop it." Arthur calmly says.
"Are you going to kill us?" Steven asks in a meek voice, shuffling a tad bit closer to (Y/N).
Electricity crackles through the room causing all three of them to look around.
"It's maddening isn't it?" Arthur speaks in a soft voice. "The voice in your head. Relentless, forever unsatisfied." He talks to them both, circling them. "No matter how hard you try to please, it devours you until there's nothing left." He pulls up his sleeve revealing the scale and grabs (Y/N)'s arms who tensed while Steven looked panicked. "Until there's nothing left but a hollow shell, and the more you ask for help, the more you begin to sound like the boy who cried wolf."
Arthur takes both of (Y/N)'s arms in his hands who grits her teeth. "We can't help you."
"I am trying to help you both." Arthur says back while placing the cane between her arms. (Y/N) stared back with furrowed eyebrows, not noticing the dark look that has overcome Steven's face.
"We saw you kill that woman in the Alps." She breathes out, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I only told her what millions more will soon learn." Arthur grabs her arms that held the cane in the middle, "Do you wanna know the truth?"
(Y/N) licks her lips out of nervousness, glancing down at her arms and watched as the cane and scale start to move. However, instead of it landing on either red of green the scale continues to move up and down. And what surprised them more was that the scales started to flare up with different colours, a complete chaotic mess.
Ever so slowly, Arthur glanced up at the woman who had fear shown on her face, alerting Steven who was watching closely.
"There's chaos in you." Arthur says lowly, letting that sink in and then stared directly into her eyes, seeing how there was a flick of white flare in them. "You are a Destroyer of worlds." The words hang in the air.
(Y/N)'s eyes found Steven's, something inside him snapping again seeing her terrified, despaired eyes.
"Let go of her." He commanded with a gruff voice, his british accent gone again. He moved to place a hand on (Y/N)'s lower back, guiding her away from the male who watched with interested eyes.
As soon as the door opened, Steven's normal self was back again and dragged (Y/N) out of there, not looking back at they run.
~
It was now nighttime, some went home from the museum and the only two left out at the back were (Y/N) and Steven. The male scancing thins with a code reader while the female puts the stuff away.
(Y/N) was still shaken up with what happened before. Destroyer of worlds? He has to be joking.. right?. She shook her head, getting rid of those thoughts.
The duo slowly make there way out of the museum, after they were finished with the scanning. All of the lights inside turn off making (Y/N) jump and reach out for Steven's hand who squeezed hers in reassurances. Just then the two hear a dog and they stopped in their tracks.
"Bloody hell." (Y/N) groaned and started calling out names of different employees to see if it was them.
"Pets allowed in the museum." Steven mumbled, walking towards the noise with (Y/N).
"Here boy." (Y/N) whistles, trying to get the dog to come to her. "Hello?"
"Where are you, you little bugger?" Steven grumbles and he stops, making the girl stop as he glances in the mirror at his reflection. Steven - both of them miss how the male's reflection watches them walk away, his gazing lingering on (Y/N) a little longer than needed.
The best friends continue to stroll through the museum, completely unaware of the 'dog' that is walking around. "We can hear you, can you hear us?" Steven asks in a meek voice. The two of them hear a low growl behind them which made them spin around to just miss the monster.
"Yeah." (Y/N) gulps, feeling her baby hairs at the back of her neck stick up. She was quick to pull Steven with her towards the exit, only coming to a halt when a shadow of dog came into view.
"Alright. Time to go." She squeaks out, walking backwards with Steven following as they both crouched behind a case.
Suddenly, the loud speakers come on. "(Y/N) (L/N) and Steven Grant of the gift shop. Give me the scarab and you won't be torn apart." The two share a nervous glance.
(Y/N) thinks for a second then sends a sorry glance at Steven, grabbing his bag and threw it across the ground. The monster growls loudly and goes to attack it.
"Come on." She whispers with a strong voice, dragging the shaking male along with him quietly, slowly as to not get the monsters attention. Though, unfortunately her plan went to shit when Steven bumped into something.
"Run!" (Y/N) screams just as the monster dog charges at them both, pulling Steven along with her knowing she was a faster runner for some reason.
The male somehow slipped on the floor, almost taking (Y/N) with him but she grunted, pulling him up by the arm and continued there sprinting. They both bolt through the museum, making it to a door to which (Y/N) kicked opened and ran through that as well.
She grunted as she shoved a bunch of boxes down on the monster, her muscles flexing. She winced seeing it now even more enrage now as Steven pulled her along, running into another room, scanning his keycard and shut the door behind them.
They both move backwards and (Y/N) curses seeing that they were trapped in a bloody bathroom. She pulls at her hair and hisses when she feels the bracelet on her wrist heat up - tightened more.
"Steven." A familiar voice calls out from the mirror and the said male turns to look at it. "Steven, I can save (Y/N) and us."
Steven glanced down at his best friend, seeing tears in her eye which made his heart crunch seeing it.
The figure in the mirror, which appears to be Steven but it's not walks a little forward. "But I can't have you fightin' me this time."
(Y/N) looked up, seeing Steven trembling in fear glancing at the mirrors. She frowned, not understanding what was happening.
"You need to give me control. You understand?" The figure in the mirror continued.
"No, what.. control of what?" Steven started talking to himself, well that was with (Y/N) was currently seeing. "What are you talking about?"
The figure in the mirror pointed at the door, seeing the door about to be broken off. "That thing's about to break through the door. We're out of time."
"No! No!" (Y/N) watched Steven slap himself in the face. "This is not real, you're not real!" He screamed into the mirror and pointed at his reflection.
"Steven-"
"Oh, god. We're gonna die. We're gonna die." He kept on rambling to himself which frightened (Y/N) more.
"You're not gonna die." The figure in the mirror stated firmly then glanced down at the nervous (Y/N). "We're gonna save her." He glanced back up to Steven, his voice coming out more lower, more demanding. "We are going to save (Y/N)."
Steven blinks at the claim, suddenly remembering that someone else here with him. He reached for (Y/N) who stared up at him with a mixture of a confused, scared and worried expression. He breathed out and brushed the back of his knuckles against her cheek.
He then nodded at the mirror, furthermore making (Y/N) confused. She watched as Steven's eyes rolled to the back of his head, his tall posture starting to behind backwards. Ropes of material began to form from his body, wrapping him in white. The door finally burst open, toppling into the room towards her and Steven.
She caught a glimpse of a white suit around her best friend and glowing white eyes before her dizziness came back, her vision going back.
Once her vision returns, she groans and places a hand over her forehead. Blinking to try and gain her vision back, she gasped in horror seeing the bathroom destroyed. Water everywhere, the lights flickering, some bathroom sinks were broken and cracks on the floor.
(Y/N) tried standing up, her legs shaky and tried to glance around the room for Steven. For her to only find a person with with glowing eyes staring at her intensely, with something that looks like a suit with a crescent moon in the middle. She whimpered scared as the figures advances on her.
The masked figure stood in front of the frighted girl, reaching up a gloved hand and brushed it against her cheek, running it down which sent a chill down her spin. "(Y/N).." The figure finally talked, voice deep and leathery from the mask.
She started feeling woozy again and the masked figure noticed so he bent slightly, sliding his arms under her knees and picked up (Y/N) bridle style. Placing her head gently near his face and neck. "My sweet girl.." He breathed out against her ear, rubbing his gloved hands up and down her sides.
She tried lifting her head up but the tiredness from all the events that have been having these past days finally took a toll on her. Her eyes fluttered shut, falling slump against the male's chest and she was soon fast asleep in the arms of the mystery white glowing eyed man.
