( SEONG 'VENUS' MI YOUNG )
⤹⋆⸙͎۪۫。˚۰˚☽˚⁀➷。˚⸙͎۪۫⋆ ༄
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐎𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇. also known as seong 'venus' mi young. no one ever really liked venus, and venus didn't really liked anyone in return. she let herself speak to the few selected people and befriend the one and only jackson whittemore due to the fact he was an even worse person than herself. it was an isolated life but venus had learned to adapt. it was either she adapt or she die.
venus wasn't considered a loser and didn't think she could ever pass as one, the girl was too pretty to be left unnoticed. 'beacon hills aphrodite' some called her, her looks making the title more fitting. mi young was a beautiful girl with a cold heart. typical movie mean girl.
"again!" no one ever tried to understand venus, no one ever tried listening to venus, no one ever tried letting themselves like venus.
"keep your form!" venus didn't need anyone, venus had never needed anyone. she didn't need friends, parents, family, teachers. she just needed herself.
"again!" no one would care if venus were to drop dead on the spot.
"i said-!" the frustration in her voice pouring out as she yelled at the fatigued girls in front of her, half on the verge of collapsing and the other half wanting to throw their insides up.
"can we take a break?" a freshman asked from the middle row of the cheer team, a redhead, smaller than venus, shining blue eyes and soft freckles. she looked too sweet to be on the team, how she got on was a question to venus.
"do you think devenford prep takes breaks?" venus asked with a raised eyebrow, her nails digging into the clipboard on her side. she hadn't broken a sweat all day but in everyone else's defence she had taken to yelling at them after half an hour.
the 28 girls had been in the gym since 4pm. it was now 10pm. various tests, food and families waiting for all of them at home. but no one dared disobey venus' orders and leave. it would've either ended up in them getting kicked off the team or attacked by the 5'4 korean girl.
before anyone could answer the obvious rhetorical question the doors to the gym opened and an angry bobby finstock stormed in, venus rolling her eyes as she pulled her lips into a tight smile.
"venus, how many time have i told you. no staying after 9 and torturing the students!" before she could begin to argue back the sound of scattering feet in the background was heard, the girls grabbing their bags and beginning to make a run for the exit.
"they're all horrible." venus deadpanned with the most stoic face, a shiver threatening finstock's back as he was faced with the bitch of beacon hills. the name was notorious amongst students and teachers, even some townsfolk.
"not everyone can be as perfect as you" the man offered as she tilted her head, the girl just rolling her eyes before walking over to her duffle bag with her initials printed on top. not bothering to say a goodbye to the man she plugged her earphones in before exiting the gym.
another day, another fail. she was too good for that school, she was too good for all those people. her parents had flown them to america when she was eight and then died six years later leaving her stuck in the god forbidden country. her aunt had moved down from korea to become her guardian, but the woman was rarely home.
venus looked after herself, because she was all she had. her parents were never good parents when they were around, and it may be horrible to say but whoever killed them had done her a favour. maybe her mother less than her father but her father deserved every horrible thing that had happened to him.
maybe what happened during her childhood made her a horrible person, maybe it's why she was so cold, maybe it's why she closed off her heart to others. but she liked to claim it was what she was taught.
"pretty girls like us will always be hurt, don't give them the chance to hurt you" her grandmother would always say. she died two years after mi young turned nine. unknown circumstances, once again.
venus knew exactly what had happened though. kumiho's may have been immortal but when they wanted their time to be up, they knew what to do. in the 100 days following seeing mi young, seong ae-cha had refrained from eating the flesh a human.
ae-cha had lived for one thousand years. she had fallen in love with mortal men, had children, some mortal, some kumiho. she had lived to see the birth of her final granddaughter. she had lived the life she always wanted. ae-cha was a woman with a heart of gold who had done reckless things to survive. she had made many mistakes but she never regretted one.
mi young loved her grandmother tremendously but could never see herself following in her footsteps. why would she fall in love with a mortal just for them to die? they were like sirens, who didn't need men. vampires who would outlive their loved ones. kumiho's were cursed for eternity.
𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥. she got along perfectly with classes but there was nothing fulfilling in attending the dreaded place. it was a free period so she found herself wondering the fields looking for someone to analyse. due to her lack of friends she would take time to try and figure people out.
"venus!" finstocks voice yelled out in her direction causing the girl to still in her tracks as she turned towards the man. various boys staring at her in her short little skirt. she may have looked like an angel with her soft eyes, delicate skin, silky brown hair and long legs but she was the farthest thing from it.
"i need help judging" the man yelled as he gestured her over, the girl rolled her eyes, a thing she does commonly around him before stalking forward. the harsh winds didn't bother her as they brushed against her bare legs. the cheer uniform paired with the lacrosse jumper she had stolen from a random senior the year before made her look like the picture perfect cheerleader.
"nice legs v!" a random boy from somewhere in the crowd of students yelled out with a wolf whistle earning a few chuckles from the surrounding boys, the few who didn't laugh knew better.
the girl didn't reply to his childishness as she took place besides coach, her arms crossed her chest as she ignored all the hormonal boys and let her eyes roam across the possible new members.
she saw danny who she was neutral with and offered a nod, stilinski who she was partnered with freshman year for chemistry, mccall who had made a name for himself in the last year. and lahey. they had been going to school together ever since venus had arrived in america. however, not once in their 8 years of knowing each other had they spoken.
"where's whittemore?" she whispered to coach as he began to shout out orders, the man only shrugging in reply making her scoff before taking a seat on the bench behind her.
the lanky figure of stiles stilinski ran up to coach in urgency before whispering something to the man, venus' eyes never leaving his figure as she tried listening in to the two males. there was definitely something up with him and his bestfriend.
once separating from coach he caught her eyes briefly before turning his head not being able to handle her hard eye contact.
"let's go! line up!" coach yelled as danny took place in line instead of the goal as usual, mccall taking his place. from the stance mccall took, it was obvious he wasn't planning on staying in his spot for long.
"make daddy proud!" coach yelled as the first boy began running towards the goal to shoot, but before throwing his stick back mccall was running straight for him tackling him to the ground quickly, most people wincing at the impact.
"mccall!" finstock yelled in annoyance as mccall helped the boy up before coach began yelling "usually the goalie stays somewhere within the vicinity of the actual goal"
"yes coach" the boys panting voice yelled back, venus thought it'd be better to stand up to get a better look at what the hell the boy was doing.
"let's try this again" and again, this time a boy who venus saw with a camera attached to him half the time began running, but once again mccall knocked him down.
"what's wrong with that kid?" she asked herself not really expecting an answer but heard the whisper of bobby finstock anyway.
"ask myself the same thing everyday" stilinski had made his way over to the two and taken a spot besides coach as he didn't seem interested in being tackled by his bestfriend.
"stilinski! what the hells wrong with your friend?" coach yelled at the boy despite the close proximity making venus breath in heavily considering how close she was as well.
"uh, he's failing two classes, he's a little socially awkward, and, if you look close enough, his jaw line's kind of uneven." the boy began listing as he still continued to avoid venus' eyes, as if she'd burn a hole right through him.
"that's interesting" coach sighed sarcastically but still looked at the boy on the field closely after the jaw comment.
"get going!" venus yelled out to the boys on the field as she clapped her hands, the anticipation beginning to eat up at her insides. she was anxious, venus was never anxious.
once again, danny was shot down. a brief conversation between the two boys before coach stormed over to scold mccall. venus' eyes going to stilinski again.
venus was no fool, she knew of the supernatural activities in beacon hills. she had fed on a werewolf before. but from the looks of stilinski he was no werewolf. his friend however, it would explain a lot. the certain increased strength, speed, senses. it just meant she had to be more careful of who she used her powers on.
jackson whittemore's sudden appearance broke her concentration. stiles who had felt her eyes on him finally allowed himself to relax. venus sent a small wave to the blonde douchebag who took a seat besides her, a slight limp in his step.
"uh, coach, my shoulder's hurting... i'm gonna-i'm gonna sit this one out..." the boy told bobby as the man came back.
a pained shoulder, a weird werewolf. there must've been a new alpha in town who was biting kids left and right, it was the only explanation. foxes and wolves had never gotten along, and venus didn't doubt it be any different considering their human forms.
isaac had taken to the front of the line, stance ready. the blow of a whistle and both boys were off, coaches yells of protests drowned out by the sound of police sirens.
sheriff stilinski, stiles' dad. he had been the one to collect mi young from her house after the murder of her parents. the ashes of her house, correction.
the sheriff started making his way towards isaac and scott, a minute later and the shy and reserved blonde was in handcuffs and on his way to the cop car. finstock following and stiles running towards scott.
venus spared jackson a glance before grabbing her bag and storming off the field. a storm was brewing in beacon hills and she had to plan an escape in case it reached her.
𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐬 "𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝" 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭. the woman wasn't around and still found a way to control her. for a woman who had lived 500 years, venus would've assumed she'd be a bit more accepting about skipping school.
so as she sat outside of the principals office with her handbag at her feet messaging the woman she let the isolation envelope her. she was more than used to it. it brought her comfort to know that if she was alone no one could hurt her.
"pretty girls like us will always be hurt, don't give them the chance to hurt you" her grandmothers voice echoed in her ears. she knew if anyone found out about what she was she would've been hunted down. the girl had always been careful to never get caught, she would usually tend on the flesh of the dead in the morgue at the hospital.
her blood red nails clicked against her phone as she sent a message to her aunt demanding she return home sooner. kumiho's would never be safe in a town full of wolves.
"miss. seong" the voice of the new principal called. she had been acquainted with him that morning after dropping of something for her english teacher.
she turned her head with a false smile before standing and entering the room, she didn't expect to see the back of stiles and scotts heads in seats in front of the mans desk. she hadn't even seen them pass her in her moments of peace.
three folders were pulled out onto the desk in front of the old man. mr. argent. allison argents grandfather, the girl with the crazy psycho murderous aunt who died a few months ago. the crazy girl who was dating the werewolf.
the girl took a seat besides scott as she crossed her legs and leant back into the seat. foxes didn't like wolves. never did, never would.
"scott mccall... academically not the most accomplished, but I see you have become quite the star athlete!" the man said enthusiastically before moving onto the next folder "mr. stilinski... oh, perfect grades, but little to no extracurriculars. maybe you should try lacrosse?"
venus wanted to laugh but composed herself as the lanky boy tried to say how he was already apart of the team.
the final folder which she assumed was her own was lifted as the man took a quick glance over her records, a satisfied smile took over as he closed it once again "mi young seong, perfect grades, cheer captain and apart of the decathlon team. and fluent in two languages!"
the korean girl nodded with a smile which was the most believable she could muster as her nails began tapping against the wooden arm of her chair.
"hold on... mccall. you're the scott that was dating my granddaughter"
"we were dating, but not anymore. not dating, not seeing any of each other, or doing anything with each other at all..." lie. the posture, the grip on the chair, the wavering voice. mccall was lying. but why?
"relax, scott. you look like you're about to crack a cyanide pill with your teeth." it was obvious this man had done a lot of analysing for him to pick up on it that quick.
"just a hard breakup" the boy tried to argue, but the ways his pupils dilated said otherwise. venus didn't intend on sticking around to find out why but couldn't push down the feeling of curiousness trying to claw its way out.
"oh, that's too bad. you seem like a pretty nice kid to me."
"now, listen, guys. yes, i am the principal, but I really don't want you to think of me as the enemy" the man said now directing his words towards the two boys, why venus was there now confused her.
"heh, is that so?" stiles asked with an awkward chuckle. what an idiot.
"however, this being my first day, i do need to support my teachers. so, unfortunately, someone is going to have to take the fall and stay behind for detention." the two boys looking at each other before stiles sighed
"and i need you, mi young, to stay back and watch them as all teachers are unavailable" when venus had been trusted enough by teachers to do their jobs was beyond her, but having a reputation to uphold she accepted.
𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬. fifteen more minutes and she could leave and pack and never return to beacon hills. she could just leave and never return and wouldn't owe anyone an explanation, because no one would care.
the room was silent, besides from stiles' foot tapping against the chemistry room floor making an echo pass the whole room. venus' phone began ringing making her grab it quickly as her aunts caller id began flashing.
pulling the device to her ear she didn't care if the lanky boy heard as she began speaking korean "what have you been doing?" the frown tugging at her lips telling stiles she wasn't happy with whoever she was speaking to.
"i'm in japan, there have been sightings of kitsunes" kitsunes were similar to kumiho's in a sense. they both possessed the fox fire, but kitsunes didn't need human flesh to survive. they were a more human version of what she was. kitsune's were the good well kumiho's were the bad. kumiho's were the ying well kitsune's were the yang
"i thought they had all ran?" her scrunched eyebrows making her look innocent for second. for all the years stiles had known mi young he had never seen the girl not understand what was going on. it was not in her dna to be confused. it was not in her dna to be wrong or unsure.
"i'm coming back to beacon hills, apparently there's a family in america somewhere. two kistune's. i'll see you when i'm back" no time to reply, no time to argue, no time to tell her it wasn't safe. as venus began pulling the phone away to end it her aunts voice spoke once more.
"i love you" the woman said through the phone in english before ending it for the girl. venus sucked in a deep breath before slamming her phone on the table.
venus didn't hate her aunt. she disliked her. she disliked her for abandoning her after her parents death. she disliked her for not speaking to her after her grandmother died. she disliked her because she save her when her brother was killed.
in venus' sixteen years of living she had uttered the three words of "i love you" to her grandmother, her mother, her brother and her aunt.
her brother had died when she was eight, the boy being seventeen himself. it was rare for a male kumiho to be born, they were seen as disgraces in her culture. so her father did what he thought was appropriate and slaughtered the boy before his eighteenth birthday. he slaughtered his own son right in front of his wife and daughter. he had never held any remorse for what he had done. he instead stared his own son down as he begged him to stop and slit his throat.
venus had witnessed many bloody tragedies in her life but that was the one that had scarred her. she had been the one to drag her brothers body to the river outside of their house and set his body adrift. she had her own hands tainted with blood for the first time for the sake of her brother. that was the only blood she'd ever feel guilty for washing off her hands.
after that blood never really bothered her. it didn't bother her when she killed a twenty year old man when she was thirteen because he didn't understand what the word "no" meant. it didn't bother her when she saw her parents blood splattered across their bedroom wall before her house went up into flames.
"venus?" the voice of stiles hit her ears as she looked up and found the boy standing right in front of her. she couldn't tell what the look in his eyes was but she knew she didn't like it.
"what?" she asked as she pushed herself up from the chair she sat on, her nails leaving her palm which she had been digging into. blood splats on the table in front of her.
"you're bleeding" the boy said as he began pulling a tissue out of his bag, without thinking he softly grabbed her wrist and placed the tissue over the deep crescent marks she had made.
she quickly retracted her hand with a small nod before using the tissue to wipe the blood on the counter, how she had let herself become so weak in front of someone made her heart race. she hated it. mi young was not a weak person, she had been constantly reminded that she was a monster and that no one ever cared for monsters.
"you can go" she said quickly as she picked up her bag on the floor, not meeting the lanky boys eyes again as she began to walk out of the room, tissue left on the desk as well as her phone.
stiles only stared as she left his sight. there had always been something odd about mi young. she was perfect. too perfect. maybe she was just a lucky person he used to tell himself.
he remembered the day her parents died, he had been at the station when she was brought in with his father. she had slept in the sheriffs office on the couch until her aunt came the next morning to get her. stiles had stayed in the office with her the whole night just watching her sleep. he had been told by his father to make sure nothing happened.
stiles was confused that night, both her parents had died and she slept like a baby. he remembered the nightmares he had after his mother died and wondered how she handled it so well. then he saw her aunt, she was an angelic looking woman. but she hadn't shed any tears for her sister or brother-in-law either.
he did remember one thing she had said to mi young that morning though before taking the thirteen year old girl home.
"don't give them the chance to hurt you"
