"There's no way she's going to help us." I whisper to Taehyung while we walk through the mansion's large front.

"You shot her dad, told her Carmine did it, comforted her at the funeral, then suddenly left so you could break me out. She won't be impressed to find out we've only returned for money."

"Well we have no choice, it's either this or we're stranded. Chrys has softened up... Maybe she'll be understanding."

I really hope so.

His finger pushes the doorbell before echoed footsteps grow louder and her butler greets us.

"Good afternoon. You are here to see Ms. Pennyworth, yes?"

"Y-yes." I nod.

"My apologies, but she's currently preparing for a meeting—"

"Let them in." A voice calls out.

The butler instantly bows and steps aside, letting slow footsteps echo as we enter the foyer that is just as enormous and spotless as I remember.

Just then, Chrys herself trails down the stairs with a gloved hand delicately tracing the railing and my jaw falls loose. Her hair is it's same dark and shiny blunt bob, only this time without the bangs and cut asymmetrically for some edge. Looking more expensive than ever, she adorns an all-Pearl white Chanel jacket dress and matching flats.

She stops to stand in front of us with a blank face before eyeing us up and down.

"What do you two want? Shouldn't you be in jail?"

Ouch.

"Chrys, Lilo didn't kill anybody." Taehyung explains. "I'm sorry for leaving you without explanation, but we need to talk."

She stares him up and down again, pondering a response before finally sighing and walking towards another room. "Fine, follow me. Nigel, make three teas."

We follow her into the enormously grand living-room room that sports cream vintage sofa's, a piano and a massive white fur rug under glass furniture. Taehyung and I sit next to each other while she takes a single chair opposite.

While Nigel sets our tea, a poodle runs into the room and hops right onto Chrys' lap. I can't help but gawk at and how much her pet has grown. When I met Chrys, Royalty was just a puppy and now she's half as tall as me.

Her hands trace it's pink fur, "So, what brings you here."

"Before we explain anything... How are you?" Taehyung asks, "Nobodies heard from you since—"

"I'm fine." She cuts bluntly. "Had to quit ballet in order to make room for taking over my father's businesses. Of course, not including what I now know to be mafia activity."

"About that. Chrys, I know I vanished from your side after the funeral but I had to break Lilo out. She did nothing wrong. Your father—"

"I don't want to talk about my father anymore."

"We have to in order to clear things up."

"Fine." Her tone is icy, eyes growing wet. "You know, my whole life I barely had a relationship with him. He would just throw money at me, yet never once help me with homework or play in the yard. But after I joined the cafe and we all went to that ball, we finally grew close... Then suddenly I find out about his shady work and some lowlife bastard kills him before I even get the chance to ask questions."

Taehyung's lips tug into a frown, as do mine. I feel horrible... Chrys finally warmed up to us as friends, but we left her behind and now she's back to her cold self. She deserves to be mad at us.

"I'm sorry about everything." Taehyung wets his lips, not yet coughing up the truth.

"Whatever. What is it you two even want?"

"You see... Your dad and mine had a rivalry with Carmine Lim, who has a son called Jaebum. His son's out to get us and even... attacked Teddy. We can't let him hurt anyone else so... We need plane tickets to Japan."

Chrys stares at us and scoffs.

"So my dad died, nobody visits me for months, and now you're asking for money? Nigel, see them out."

"No!" I jump, "Chrys it's not like that—"

"That's exactly what it is! You guys are just like everyone else."

She stands up once her butler enters the room but before she can leave, I grab her arm.

"Look... We're so sorry about your dad, and for abandoning you to deal with our own problems. We left you to hurt and that's not what friends do. The truth is, staying here means we either get killed or arrested. I don't know if I can do that again... Sleeping in a filthy concrete room, while getting beat up every other day for no reason... I can't go back to prison Chrys." A tear runs down my cheek at the painful memories. "And I don't want that for the others either. We're not asking you out of selfishness, we're asking for everybody's safety. You're aware now that your dad was involved in some sketchy stuff... Well Jaebum just murdered Teddy and we can't let it happen again. So we're asking you, please..... Do us this solid."

Before I know it, Chrys and I are both staring at each other intimately with tears streaking down our cheeks, though her face is as still as stone.

"...Fine. How much do you need?"

"About 900..."

"...I'll go to the bank shortly to make the transfer." She wipes her cheeks while walking to the front door, letting her butler open it for us. Taehyung thanks her quietly, making me sheepishly do the same. "Thank you."

She presses a weak grin as I pass her... But I suddenly turn back to give her a hug, crying slightly into her shoulder.

"I'm so sorry..."

"It's okay. You came back." She nods. Wiping her tear and mine, I smile before following Taehyung out.

"That went better than I expected." He exhales.

"Yeah, but... Maybe we should've told her it was you who shot her dad."

"I was going to, but then she wouldn't have helped us. It wasn't the right time."

I notice his eyes and mind growing distant at the thought, but when his hand finds mine with a smile.

"Whatever, what's important now is that Teddy's brothers are in a nice home and we have the money. Let's go home and check on the others."

—1 HOUR LATER—
—AUTHOR'S POV—

Birds chirp and rose bushes practically sparkle as Chrys carefully steps down the marble mansion stairs, a large sunhat and Chanel sunglasses to protect her from the sun.

"Is the limo ready?"

"Yes Miss."

Her butler walks her to the limo parked just outside the gate, opening the backdoor for her to climb into.

What neither of them notice however, is the strange smoking man watching her from a black car across the street.

"Have a safe trip, Miss." He bows and shuts the door. She then tells the chauffeur, "Royal national bank."

"Yes miss."

He starts the engine and it's not long before they're driving off. In the car across the street, Jaebum's goon flicks his cigarette out the window before lifting the walkie-talkie to his mouth.

"She's leaving."

"Follow her. Don't let her get to that bank."

*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ☀️

A little while later, the limo rides along the freeway smoothly with the black car following behind, but Chrys is none the wiser, gazing out her window with crossed legs and encased hands. Her mind wonders Taehyung and Lilo's visit...

Although she didn't show it, her time at the cafe was the best of her youth. It gave her an excuse to see friends every day, even if they were crazy, loud and idiotic. To have the plug suddenly pulled was confusing.

She felt forgotten until Lilo's words reassured her today... And at that thought, a small smile pops on her lips.

"Do you still have her?" The walkie talkie speaks.

"Yeah, she's on the freeway. I'm right behind her."

"Do it now."

Releasing the button, the goon clutches his wheel with two hands and checks both mirrors before suddenly ramming into the limo's rear.

Chey's instantly jerks forward, looking out of the window with her hand on the handle. "W-what's going on?!"

Before the chauffeur can say anything, the black car quickly overtakes them and out of nowhere, parks right in front of their limo.

"AHHH!!!!!"

Chrys' ear-piercing shriek blares when their vehicle swerves in panic, tires burning and screeching while her body tumbles...

And the limo crashes into a barrier.

—MORE HOURS LATER—
—LILO'S POV—

"All packed." Jungkook slaps his suitcase. Winter adds, "Same."

"Me three." Hoseok nods. "So when do we leave?"

"Don't know. Whenever Chrys sends me the tickets." Taehyung responds.

"You saw Chrys today?" Winter asks surprised, but then her expression softens. "How is she?"

"She's... Chrys."

"Wait she still hasn't sent anything yet?" I ask. He shakes his head, "No. She should've gotten there by now but I haven't heard from her. I think something's wrong..."

"Call her." Jungkook says.

He agrees and begins dialing her house number on speaker, only to be met with the butler's voice.

"Who is this?"

"Taehyung, Chrys' friend. Did Chrys make it to the bank safely and transfer the money? We haven't got it."

"Ms. Pennyworth didn't make it to the bank." He speaks bluntly, as if offended.

"Huh?"

"She got into a car accident on the freeway, Mr. Kim."

"WHAT?" Everyone exclaims, sparing looks of wide eyes.

"An accident?! How? We just saw her a couple of hours ago!" I whisper.

"W-where is she now?" Taehyung asks into the phone.

"Being hospitalized at a private—" Taehyung already hangs up and collects his keys. "I know which hospital."

"We're coming too." Everyone automatically grabs a jacket and tags behind... Even Jimin.

This time, Taehyung doesn't object and instead allows everyone to follow.

*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ☀️

The six of us stand in the hospital elevator impatiently as it rises at the speed of a turtle.

"It seems too weird. How does someone crash on a freeway? They're all going in one direction." Taehyung mutters.

"You think it wasn't natural?"

"Yeah, I'm with Taehyung." Winter leans against the wall.

"We're probably just reading things too deep. Crashes happen all the time, it could've been an accident."

The elevator doors open after Jungkook's words and we all run like a herd of gazelles towards the ward reception until the lady behind the desk suddenly holds out her arm.

"Sorry, only one guest at a time."

"One?!" Jungkook's pitch gets high. "What kind of hospital only allows one guest?!"

"Okay," Hoseok exhales, "I think Lilo should go in and ask her what happened. She's closest to this girl."

Jungkook and Hoseok exchange a suspicious glance before the younger nods and walks away, pulling Winter's hand. "Cool, Win and I will be in the coffee area."

"And I'm gonna take a leak." Hoseok goes in the opposite direction with raised brows.

It's not until then that I see what they're doing. Clever.

"I'm going to see Chrys, see you two later." I wave, leaving Taehyung and Jimin alone.

They both sit on the waiting chairs awkwardly, neither one looking at the other. Their fight was petty bad, it'll probably gonna take a while to mend—

Suddenly, they lock into a hug without a word.  My eyebrows raise in confusion, well that was quick.

"I'm sorry..." Jimin sniffs into his shoulder. "I shouldn't have accused you the way I did. You didn't kill Jaebum because killing brings you pain and trauma you just got therapy to cope with, trauma I wouldn't even know the half of. I should of never have asked or expected that of you."

His voice cracks, tears now soaking into Taehyung's dark button-up shirt. Taehyung pats his back gently.

"No, you were right. I should've tried harder. But I love you and Teddy both... You know that."

"I know. I'm sorry Tae."

"I'm sorry too."

Hoseok comedically creeps into the scene with the hugest open smile before letting out an obnoxiously loud laugh-scream and tossing his arms around the two, turning it into a group hug. "You made up! Finally!"

"YAY!" Jungkook, who had also been spying, leaps into the triangle with his arms swung around their shoulders. The four men laugh hysterically while hopping and rotating in a circle like kids.

Seeing a wide smile on Jimin's teary face is a sight I haven't seen in forever, and a sight I was beginning to think I'd never see again.

But seeing his toothy grin and beautifully squinted eyes once more has me beaming bright. These boys really are made for each other.

*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ☀️

With everyone sitting outside, I carefully enter Chrys' hospital room and close the door behind me. The room is practically orange, the sun setting harshly against the beige walls and Chrys' form that lies in the white bed.

Bandages wrap around her temple while a thick cast squishes the entire perimeter of her face, redness, bruising and swelling everywhere.

"Hey... How are you feeling?"

"Can't feel my body so, great." She sarcastically replies.

I let out a chuckle when sitting beside her, my eyes running along her form.

"Do you remember what happened?"

"There was a... Black car ramming into us I think... Then out of nowhere, it swerved ahead of us and we crashed."

Okay, at least she hasn't sustained any head injuries. That's good.

"God... I'm so sorry you had to go through this Chrys. It's not fair." My hand encases hers.

"You were completely free of danger and drama, then the second Taehyung and I visit you, you wound up here. You had nothing to do with this..."

Her eyes scroll down, staring at how my hand is cupping hers.

"...To be honest, it's not your fault. It's my dad's for being involved in these kinds of people, thinking it wasn't going to reach me along the line."

I look down into my lap as a guilty silence fills the room. Chrys' brows then lower.

"Can I ask you something?"

"S-Sure..." My brows lift.

"Did this Carmine guy really kill me dad? Or was it someone else..."

"...W-why would you ask that?"

She pouts her lip and shrugs.

"From the sounds of it, Carmine used my dad like a puppet whenever he wanted to trick or steal from the Kim's. If he shot my dad... Who shot him? It wouldn't be his own son, surely. I don't know, I've had too much time to think about it. At one point I was even beginning to suspect Taehyung. But Sergio was an uncle to him so..."

"Chrys..."

She notices my distant expression and shakes her head.

"Sorry, I'm reading into it too deep into things again. I never used to be like this." Her eyes shut momentarily, "Let's change the topic."

"Y-yeah. Okay."

"I forgot to mention, I had my butler book those plane tickets and put money into Taehyung's backup account. It should be in there now."

"You... Already sent us the tickets?" I lean back shocked.

"Mhm. You said you wanted it asap so I booked flights for tonight at 10. The airport is far so you should all get going."

"What about you? We can't just leave you again."

"Bones heal." She sighs, "I'll be fine—"

"But what if somebody comes in here and hurts you again? It's not safe."

"My security team are already on their way from the mansion to protect me. I'm fine, but you guys are the ones being hunted by a madman. Just go. Once I'm better, I'll visit you guys in Japan."

My mouth carves a soft smile at Chrys' new kind matureness. Although she can't move much, I end up delivering her a hug.

"Thank you so much. For everything."

"Ugh, I can't believe how sappy I've gotten." She rolls her eyes playfully, making me laugh.

"...Do you remember when you used to call me street urchin?"

She chuckles lightly at the thought. "I do. Do you remember when you beat me up in the cafe?"

"I do." I scratch my neck nervously. "Good times."

"Yeah."

With a prominent smile, I touch her hand once more before standing.

"Stay safe Chrys."

"You too."

*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ☀️

"Guys!" I run back to the others waiting outside.

"What's wrong? Did you find out what happened?" Taehyung asks.

"Yeah, Chrys said a black car was ramming into her right before the crash."

"I think we can guess who's behind that." Hoseok sighs.

"She also said she already sent the tickets. Our flight is at 10 pm tonight."

"That's in five hours," Winter says.

"3 and a half if we include the time it takes to drive there," Jimin adds.

Taehyung pinches his chin, then hands his keys to Jungkook. "Alright, here's what we're gonna do. You guys get in the car and head to the airport while I go home and get everyone's things. I shouldn't be too long, just wait for me there."

"Be safe." I web my arms around his neck and give him cushiony kisses. I already know he's gonna do it regardless, so there's no point in telling him to come with us.

After bidding Taehyung goodbye, we all head outside and go our separate ways, getting in the car before Jungkook drives us to the airport.

*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ ☀️
—ONE HOUR LATER—

Taehyung hurriedly dashes into Hoseok's house with heavy breath, mentally going through what he needs to collect while pacing through the foyer.

He enters the living room but stops dead in his tracks—

"You seem in a rush." Officer Min sits comfortably on the couch, casually sipping on some wine with the gang's luggage behind him. Instead of black, his hair is dyed a fierce blonde.

Taehyung's body turns stiff as he eyes the man with a clenched jaw.

"I helped myself to your fridge since no one was home, hope you don't mind." His gaze motions to the luggage, "Planning on going somewhere?"

"It's not for me. I need those bags for the others."

"And how do I know you're not trying to flee with them, hm?"

"Because I've already planned to turn myself in once the others are safe from Jaebum. I just need those suitcases."

"Well," Yoongi stands up with both hands in his pockets, "I can't let you do that. A cop squad will be here in fifteen minutes for all of your arrests and I'm here to keep you here until then."

"Yoongi you know our situation. You know the others are innocent so just let me help them flee this place, then you can lock me up as long as you want."

"My job was to locate and bring in Lilo Hanson, not you. I'm sorry Kim but that's what I've got to do, so if you want your things..."

Yoongi takes off his long dark coat and tosses it to the floor, tongue poking the inside of his cheek.

"You'll have to go through me."

With a tense expression, Taehyung rolls up his sleeves and cracks the knot in his neck before marching towards the man who does the same...

"Then that's what I'll do."
