|22| winter bear cubs
This is how I imagine Winkook. Wby? ^ 💙 Thank you for your support thus far. Leave a vote/comment! It motivates me~
The following morning, I cradle my damp pillow whilst staring at the bucket on the floor Taehyung placed, in case I throw up like yesterday.
Since then, there's been this cold divide in the house. Not only have Winter and Jungkook broken up, but Jimin loathes Taehyung. I wish everyone would stop fighting in a time like this...
"Li? You awake?" He whispers, entering the room.
I return a weak hum before he crouches down beside me, fully dressed and wearing a mask.
"...Where are you going?" I ask.
"The foster home. Are you coming?"
"Huh? You're taking me?"
"Well I was meant to go with Jimin and Winter but..." The sad shrug of his shoulders finish the sentence.
"I don't know Tae... I don't think I can face those little boys."
"You don't have to, I just thought you could use the air. I can do it—"
"Actually, I'll come." I sit up. Taehyung's been nothing but supportive to me lately, it would be unfair not to be there for him.
"Alright, get on your disguise." He pecks my lips.
Standing up, I spot Hoseok standing behind the doorway when Taehyung leaves the room. I can hear their words as I approach our bathroom
"Don't take your eye off Jimin while we're gone. Please make sure he eats and doesn't hurt himself."
"I've got you." Their palms clap together. A weak smile tugs at my lips.

The foster home we approach is like a run down, but hyper playground. The front door is left open while kids spend the hot summer morning running around the front lawn laughing, some looking at us strangely since we're both wearing masks.
"Which ones are Teddy's brothers?" I whisper—
"Oww! Mrs. Willoooww! Cubby keeps biting my arm!"
"Cubby, stop that. Your brother doesn't like it." The older woman scolds.
"Mickey, you snitch!" He blows a raspberry to his identical brother. They both have these big round eyes beneath vibrant curly locks and chubby cheeks.
Taehyung points and heads in their direction after pulling down his mask, making do the same.
"Uncle TaeTae!" The two kids immediately stop fighting to hug Taehyung's legs. Upon hearing the name, three other boys with the exact same appearance gasp and run to join. Taehyung chuckles and squats on one knee to hug them.
In all the time I've known him, I've never really seen him light up around children this way. My hands cup in front of me as I tilt my head and watch with a smile.
"Wow, haven't you guys grown since I last visited."
"Yup! I eat alllll of my dinner so I can be big like you and Uncle Chim!" One of them pats his belly until another shoves his face, "Yah! That just means you'll be fat!"
"TaeTaeeee, Buddy called me fat!"
"None of you are fat, okay? Actually, there's someone here I want you to meet." He looks over his shoulder, eyes meeting mine and causing the five boys to gawk. Their stares snap me back into reality as I had gotten lost in the midst of admiration.
I wave nervously, "H-hi boys. I'm—"
"Lilo!" They shout, "From Lilo and stitch!"
"Teddy told us lots about you!"
"You're in our favorite movie!"
"Aw!" I crouch down only slightly. "Is that so?"
"Li, this is Mickey, Cubby, Buddy, Winnie and Theo."
Wow, I can't believe I'm actually meeting Teddy's quintuplet brothers. They're so full of energy, like bright-eyed and bushy-tailed bear cubs. They resemble their sister so well.
"Boys, there's actually something I'm here to tell you." Taehyung licks his lips and stares into their eyes seriously. "It's about your sister."
"Is Teddy here with you?! We miss her!"
"No um, she... She's not here. She said she'll be gone for a while and asked me to bring you guys somewhere nice."
"Really?!"
"Yeah, I know some nice people that would love to have you. Go collect your things and meet me back down here."
"Okay!" They scurry off in excitement, making him stand up straight with a sigh.
"You're not gonna tell them?"
"Not yet. They seem too happy. I'll have to do it in a later time."
"Mr. Kim, I'm glad to see you back." The older lady greets.
"Thanks. I'm just here to collect the boys."
"Ah, I'm sorry but social services said Teddy is no longer allowed to be their main caregiver."
"I'm not bringing them to Teddy, they'll be living with a friend of mine. I've already signed the papers to take them."
"O-oh. Well in that case, I'll have the boys say goodbye to the other kids and pack their things. Tell their sister I said hello." She bows.

After a rambunctious drive, we finally arrive at an unfamiliar home. Not another luxurious penthouse, but instead something large, traditional and cozy, like a family home.
When Taehyung rings the doorbell, the door opens to reveal a couple.
"Mr. Namjoon?" I gape.
He looks around awkwardly through rectangular glasses, an arm wrapped around his wife. "Uh... Have we met?"
Oh right. He doesn't recognize me in this wig and mask.
"I..."
"—No, you haven't." Taehyung pushes me back. His wife then crouches down with an ecstatic beam, "Oh my! Are these our new little bear cubs?"
The boys all shy away by hiding behind Taehyung and I's legs.
"It's okay, they're friendly." He reassures. "Mr. and Mrs. Kim will take good care of you from now on."
The boys still hide behind our legs, not fully convinced until Mrs. Kim sings— "And we have a new cotton candy machine we'd love you boys to test out."
"Cotton candy?! Awesome!" They parade inside without second thought. The couple chuckle as we pass them their luggage.
"Thank you so much for this Taehyung." Namjoon bows. "After finding out we couldn't have our own, we thought we were hopeless but here you come, giving us five adorable little boys. We're truly grateful."
"Thanks for taking them. They deserve a real family and home for once. Just be careful, they're a handful."
The two chuckle and exchange hugs before we wave goodbye and are heading back to the car—
"Lilo!" A pair of tiny arms hook around my leg. I look down and notice Theo holding up a crinkled piece of paper, his chubby cheek pressed cutely against my jeans.
"I drew this for you in the car! Will you take it home and keep it safe??"
I retrieve the paper and let my heart melt while viewing the messy crayon drawing of me and stitch on a beach, the bear cubs dancing in the background.
Feeling tears sprout in my eyes, I crouch to pull him into a hug. "Come here..."
"...Is Teddy ever going to come back?" He asks over my shoulder. "Or is she going to disappear... Like mom and dad?"
I pull back to hold him by the shoulders, my eyes suddenly pooling and finger tucking a loose strand of hair behind his ear.
"She's..... She's watching over you. I promise."
".....That's what Teddy said about mom." His small lips form a pout. After a pitiful silence, I make sure to force a smile and pat his shoulder. "Go back inside Theo. Uncle TaeTae and I will visit again, pinky promise."
He smiles weakly and wraps his dainty pinky around mine before running back inside.
Once I return to Taehyung in the car, I try hiding my tears but he notices them and sighs, lifting his arm to wipe them before I beat him to it.
"I'm not— I won't. Sorry."
"It's okay." He kisses my temple, "Let's not get too distracted by this. We should return to the plan."
"Which is?"
"Once we get home, I'm booking plane tickets to Japan."
"Plane tickets? What happened to the villa?"
"We're still getting a villa, just in Japan. After what Jaebum did to Teddy it's risky for the others to be even in the same country as that man."
"But what about Mina? She's still in a coma! I want to be here for her when she wakes up."
"You can still visit her, just not for now. I wouldn't tear you guys apart."
"...Well in order to make this work you'll have to make up with Jimin, otherwise I doubt he'll go. Or that Winter and Jungkook will want to travel together."
He slumps his head against the car seat with a steamy nose exhale. His eyes lower to my hand which he rubs circle on. "Shit really has hit the fan, huh? At least we're still together."
I hum in agreement, lapping my hand over his before leaning forward for a kiss.
The movement in our lips deepens. His hand raises to cup my cheek while my nails draw grids along his shirt and before I know it, his hand is sliding into the warmth of my lap.
"Slow down cowboy." I push his chest with laughter. "Let's sort out the plan first."
Taehyung bites his lip whilst eyeing me up and down with flirtatious eyes. It's been a while, so I can tell the hunger in his stare is dangerous. "Alright, but I'm gonna hold you to that Li."

—AUTHOR'S POV—
With everybody gone, Winter lays along the couch with her knees up and nose pointed to the ceiling. A silver chain dangles from her finger as she stares at its occasional twinkles.
—FLASHBACK—
"Winter Winter Winter!" A pre-teen Teddy happily hurries to the older while she soullessly sorts the cash register.
"What now..."
"You'll never believe what I made! Fine I'll give you a clue— it's shiny and small and has cute little animals on it!"
"Is it—"
"Shhhhh, not yet! Close your eyes!"
"This is dumb."
"It's not! Just close 'em!"
"Okay." She sings sarcastically. Teddy had only been employed at the cafe for two days and already she was being nothing but a loud—
"Aaand open!"
The pitch-black gates of Winter's eyes open to reveal Teddy holding a dainty silver bracelet in her hand. The smile on her face is so big her cheeks could rip.
Winter retrieves it with an arched brow, "What is it?"
"A charm bracelet! My brothers were crafting them with their carer yesterday and I made one for you! Do you like the charms??"
Pinching the accessory in the air, Winter squints her eyes to evaluate each swinging charm. A polar bear, snowman, penguin, snowflake and finally, a heart.
"...Why are you giving me this?"
Teddy's hands overlap on the counter when springing forward, "Because you're nice to me and I look up to you!"
"We only started working together two days ago."
"Pfft, yEaH but I know this is just the start. Soon more girls will join and we'll all be friends a hundred years from now. So keep this as a reminder of our rookie days at the cafe!"
Winter holds up the bracket once more, a scoff leaving her nose as she peeks the tiniest grin.
—END OF FLASHBACK—
Despite the memory, tears struggle to break through the ice of Winter's eyes that reflect each charm. She had never actually worn it. Not because it was asymmetrical and obviously handmade, but because she's not one for jewelry. However something was telling her to bring it out today.
Out of nowhere, the speaker across the living room switches on, making Winter jump and immediately stuff the gift in her pocket.
She looks over to notice Jungkook standing by the speaker with closed eyes and a swaying head, humming along to the song playing.
Her eyes roll, "Drunk already. Shocker."
"Not drunk baby, tipsy." He begins dancing his way towards her. Winter frowns when he takes her by the hand and pulls her to dance.
"Stop." She whines, "I don't wanna dance with you..."
"Shh shh, don't fight it." He slips a hand around her waist and throws his head back, super long strands of hair waving along his cheeks.
His hold on her waist is secure while he slowly dances and sings.
"Looks like a Winter Bear... You sleep so happily..."
"Jungkook..." Although her head turns, her body doesn't push his away.
"I wish you goodnight... goodnight... goodnight..."
"Look, if you think you can just go out and fuck other girls before coming home and serenading me, it's not going to work. I'm not another nameless ex you can just disrespect however you'd like."
Despite her complaining, Jungkook still sways his head with shut eyes and a small grin, his soul deep into the music. Her jaw clenches in anger, "You're not even listening to me."
"I am." He finally opens one eye at a time. A bunny-like smile rises from seeing her stunning features.
"I didn't sleep with anyone Win. Not a kiss., not a touch. I thought that's what I wanted in the moment because I was mad but I just couldn't. And now I know why."
His nails dig into her waist as he brings his lips beside her ear tenderly.
"Because I could never disrespect you like that. I can't imagine going back to the way I was when I have someone as incredible and as beautiful as you."
Winter's cheeks rouge up at the compliments. Not knowing how to react, she unconsciously turns her cheek and tries pushing him away.
"S-so am I supposed to fall at your feet now? Are you expecting some congratulations?"
"Not at all. You don't have to forgive me..." He looks down and swallows. "But just know that I'm not the same Jungkook as before. I'm here for you now, whether that be as your boyfriend or just... A friend. Teddy's death has things rough and all I did was push myself onto you when I should've let you grieve privately. I'm sorry for not being more patient... And for calling you a hag."
Winter's eyes linger on the floor, her body becoming both stiff and numb.
"I'm still working on myself, I know, but for what it's worth, I love you Winter. Like I'm really, seriously in love with you. Not for your looks but just... Your brain. Your aura. Everything. And if you don't want to tell me your birthday, last name or favorite food then you shouldn't have to. I'll be more patient from now on."
Winter looks down and clenches her jaw. A long silence fills the small space between their faces as she thinks...
"...December 24th."
"What?"
"That's my birthday... Christmas Eve and 6 days before Taehyung's. I should've told you these things sooner. I should've asked you to give me more space instead of lashing out the way I..." Her voice cracks at the end as tears paint her orbs but she quickly clears her throat and wipes them.
"I-It was never your fault. Teddy's death just brought back a lot of shit and I just... Fucking hate showing my emotions like this. I hate crying. But... That doesn't excuse the way I acted to you. I'm sorry."
"Hey, we both made mistakes. And it's okay to cry." He wipes her fallen tear. "I'm here to support you... Even if we have to go back to being friends."
Winter wipes her cheek and sniffs, nodding at her feet forcefully.
"Sure. Friends."
Their arms slowly lock into a gentle hug. Hers tighten around his neck and chin digs his shoulder, while he buries his face in hers and inhales her lavender scent a final time, lids shutting and hands grasping at her waist.
The intimate setting is interrupted when they pull apart and Winter suddenly blurts—
"I love you."
Jungkook's eyes are suddenly bulging the widest they can, making her do the same once she realizes what she just said.
"Oh my God. I-I don't know why I just—"
But he breaks into an unstoppable beam and cups her cheeks.
"You have no idea," He pecks her, "No idea", he pecks her again, and again. "How long I've been waiting to hear those words."
Winter's smile is sheepish as if she were trying to contain it, but at that moment seeing Jungkook's bunny smile thawed her completely. Staring at each other, their lips brush passionately.
The kiss is slow, deep and gentle. His arms buckling around her spine and body cranes over hers while her nails trail down his arm and left arm wraps around his neck to bring it closer.
There's a small smack when their lips part. With a satisfied grin, Jungkook seals the kiss with a peck.
"Plus, it's not like we could really break up. I have your name on my penis and you kinda have me tattooed on your a— Ow!"
She flicks him in the forehead with rolling eyes and lips of disgust, making him flinch as she walks away. "Had to ruin it."
"Babe I'm kidding!" He chases after her, "Whatever."

—LILO'S POV—
A couple hours later, Taehyung and I return from our drive when Hoseok immediately asks, "Did you drop the kids off?"
"Yeah, they're finally in a stable home. Where's Winter and JK?"
"We're here." They come into view. I can't help but grin at the sight of his arm around her.
"Yes, you haven't broken up! Now they won't mind sitting next to each other on a plane."
"A plane?" Winter's brows lower.
"Yeah so um..." Taehyung scratches the back of his head. "You guys will need to pack your bags. It's not safe here, and if the cops find you with us they'll arrest you too. I'm booking you all tickets to Japan."
"What?!"
"Japan??" Jungkook frowns, "No no no! All my nightclub memberships are here!"
Winter's hand is quick to smack him. "Seriously? That's all you care about?!"
"It's crazy, I know, but it's just for about a year or two until the heat dies down. I'm booking them now so somebody tell Jimin to start packing."
—AUTHOR'S POV—
Hoseok follows Taehyung's orders by going upstairs and entering Jimin's room, only to find him already shoving clothes into his suitcase with one hand and a lingering scowl.
"...What are you doing?"
"What does it looks like?" His eyes don't avert, "I'm packing my shit."
"Oh. Well good because Tae said—"
"Tae said, Tae said. Of course, because he runs everything. He's the one with money and authority, so it's always what Tae wants." He grumbles quietly.
"Jimin..." He sighs, "He's doing this for us. He wants you to pack so he can fly us to Japan."
The younger scoffs, "Typical. Somebody dies and all he can think about is his missions. Well I'm not coming."
"Then where—?"
"I'm going back home to my parents Hoseok. I don't want anything to do with this shit anymore and no one's going to convince me otherwise. So you can tell Taehyung not to bother booking me."
"Please don't. We need you Jimin, your friends need you. You can't leave."
"Don't care. I already called my parents and they're waiting for me at home."
"Dude..."
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" He abruptly throws a box at Hoseok that just misses him, making him gulp and leave the room.
Once he does, Jimin uses his good arm to shove his clothes more and more aggressively, before finally letting out a frustrated roar and tossing the entire bag against the wall. His teeth grit before he collapses onto the floor and cries into his hand...
—LILO'S POV—
While the others are gathering their things, I follow Taehyung to the couch and rest my hands on his lap while he books the tickets. My lip nervously pinches between my teeth while the transaction to load.
"What? Transaction declined?"
"It's probably a glitch," I assure.
He tries again, but we get the same result.
"Somethings wrong, it's not working." His eyebrows screw together as he enters his online banking, only to be struck with an update.
"You've got to be fucking kidding... Those bastards!" He groans.
"What??"
"The cops are onto me now. They froze my account."
"No! Then how are we going to buy the plane tickets and villa?"
"I don't know... We'll need to ask someone with money to help us out."
"Like we know anyone that'll just have $900,000 lying around in their..."
My sentence drifts into space as our eyes slowly lock and we speak in unison...
".........Chrys."
Unfortunately, I couldn't fit more into this part so it came out kinda filler I'm sorry 😭 But be excited, the next updates are LITTT AFFF I'm SO hyped! 🔥
