ARABELLA WOKE UP, IMMEDIATELY BEING PLAGUED BY MEMORIES OF THE ENCHANTING KISS HER AND KIMI HAD SHARED. she hit herself on her forehead.

that was so stupid. she scolded herself, knowing that now that she had started it, she'd have to endure it. it wasn't that she didn't like kimi, not at all. it was the fact that she did like him.

she would catch feelings, like she had told lucy and linnea before they even went to the maldives. she would catch feelings and be heartbroken at the end of summer, especially because the four boys lived in an entire different country.

but oh, how the boy had swept her off her feet. she had abandoned all of her morals the seconds she kissed him back.

she needed to call her dad. bella and her father had always been extremely close, and she needed his opinion on this.

facetiming papa🤍...

after three rings, her father picked up. "bella it's five in the morning here. what could possibly be so important?"

"sorry papa, but i messed up." she started, already tearing up. she could hear some shuffling and assumed it was her father getting out of bed, to avoid waking up ginerva. she couldn't see what was happening because it was so dark in the home.

"what happened, mi hija?" her father said, his tone had changed from his previous annoyed one, to a much more sweet and concerned one. suddenly a light turned on, and her dad's face showed up.

"it's a long story, buckle up dad." she started, making her dad let out a laugh. "hit me."

arabella explained the situation to her father, who listened intently and without interrupting. "and yesterday, me and him went for a walk and he just suddenly said he had feelings for me and i was so shocked i like, froze. he thought i didn't return the feelings and he was like 'just forget i said anything'. so i said shut up and i KISSED HIM. papa, i kissed him." she stressed the last part.

her dad laughed at her for a second, "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO LAUGH. i'm in a crisis, father." she protested.

"bella, from what you've told me, the boy is good to you. summer flings can be fun sweetheart, it's actually how your mother and i met as well." niccolo told his daughter. "wait, really?" arabella was surprised to say the least.

"yes. your mother was a native here in barcalona, i'm from emilia-romagna, which you know. i was here on vacation with some friends when i was twenty four, and i met your mother. she was wonderful, and i immediately fell in love. we said it would be casual but after i went home, we exchanged letters and calls. when i was twenty six, i moved to barcelona to be with your mother."

this was a story that her father had never told her about. she had never heard of this before. "how come you've never told me this before?" she wasn't angry, and her voice only came across as curious.

"i never thought to tell you about it. i don't even think teo and tonio know this." her father said, factually.

suddenly, there was a sound on her fathers end of the phone. "papa, who are you speaking to?" the voice of tonio could be heard. matteo and antonio had very similar voices but bella could always tell them apart.

"hi tonio!" arabella yelled out to her older brother, who quickly came into frame a few seconds later. "hi bells! how is the maldives?" he asked, making the girl smile.

"it's so beautiful here, you've seen my insta posts." she said, making the older boy nod. "yes. i've also seen your boy. who is he?" he went into protective older brother mode and bella groaned in annoyance.

"his name is kimi, he's sweet. i think you'd like him." bella told antonio with a smile. "facetime me or teo when you're with him, we wanna speak to him." he said making bella roll her eyes.

"no. you're going to scare him off. plus, what are you gonna do all the way from home?" she sassed, antonio now being the one who groaned.

"we wanna make sure our little sister has a nice summer fling and not an asshole? maybe?" he reasoned. the girl knew her brother wasn't going to let this go, "fine. i'll facetime you when i see him next."

"leave your sister alone, antonio. go back to bed."

"yes, antonio, go back to bed." arabella sassed, making the boy in question give her a side eye before walking off.

"like i was saying, if it's meant to be it'll be. if, at the end of summer, you want to stay in contact with him, it's okay with me." her father smiled, making arabella smile back gratefully.

"thanks papa, you always know what to say." niccolo grinned, "comes with age." he said. "yeah, we're gonna have to put you in an elderly home once i get back." bella joked, making her father laugh.

once the laughter had ceased, her father yawned. "sorry for waking you up papa, go back to sleep. te quiero." she ordered him. niccolo nodded at his daughter, "te quiero mucho, mi hija."

her father hung up right after, probably very tired. bella was just scrolling through tiktok when a notification popped up.

arabella waited for him in the living room after she was done changing while listening to some music over her airpods. the song was 'me gustas tu', which arabella thoroughly enjoyed, especially during summer.

then, she got a notification from kimi, saying that he was outside.

she quickly grabbed all of her stuff and put her airpods back in the case before sprinting towards the door. she opened it to find kimi's smiling face, "good morning, belly." he said.

the nickname was new, but she liked it. "hi, kimi!" she said, closing the door and locking it behind herself. she also quickly shot a text in the girls group chat that she was out for breakfast with kimi, for when they woke up.

the boy held his hand out for her to grab, which she —of course— took. the two walked the rest of the way to the beach, hand in hand.

after setting up a nice big towel and their food, they both sat down. "what is this for, if i may ask?" arabella questioned, not at all minding it.

"i just wanted some time for us alone. i mean, we're always with the others. i just thought one morning to ourselves wouldn't hurt." kimi explained, making the spanish girl smile.

"you're right. it doesn't hurt." she whispered, giving him a kiss on the cheek after. "you missed." the boy said cheekily.

"okay, come here you freak." she gave in, after literally no protest whatsoever. the two kissed for a few seconds before bella pulled away, remembering what her brother had asked of her.

"oh, i forgot to tell you. my brothers have seen you on my insta story and they wanna talk to you. don't be scared, they're stupid." she rushed the last part out after seeing kimi's frightened face.

after the boy agreed to talk to her brothers, she facetimed antonio. "what the fuck, bella." the sleepy voice of tonio could be heard. "don't give me attitude, you whiny bitch. you wanted to talk to kimi right?" she replied sassily.

suddenly, her brother sounded very awake. "HOLD. let me go wake up teo." there was shuffeling before there was another groan at the other end of the line.

"wake up, you fat fuck. we're talking to bella's boyfriend!" tonio seemed more excited then serious about talking to him.

the light of the room came on and her two brothers faces showed up. "i forgot how ugly you guys were." bella commented, making the two brothers protest immediately.

"OKAY. shut up now. you wanted to talk to kimi. and i'm telling you now, no threatening, no shaming, no being mean." she ordered, making her brothers groan. she gave them a look through the camera, to which they both replied to with a nod.

arabella gave the phone to kimi, the boy nervously smiled, "hi." he said, as the spanish boys kept quiet for a second.

"where are you from? you sound italian." antonio questioned after a few moments. "i'm from emilia-romagna, so yes, italian." kimi stated, the two boys now grinning. "our dad is also from there! and as long as you treat our sister right, you're good man. we just wanted to scare you." matteo laughed, making kimi sigh out of relief.

"okay, that's enough out of you two." bella said, taking the phone away from kimi. "bye hermanos, te quiero." she said quickly, and hung up before they could even reply.

"sorry about them, like i said, they're weird." bella apologized, making kimi shake his head. "no need, they're just looking out for you." he said with a smile.

the two ate the rest of their breakfast, cracking jokes and sharing kisses in between. it was a nice way to start a day.
