IT HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE ARABELLA AND KIMI HAD GOTTEN TOGETHER OFFICIALLY, and life really couldn't be better for the couple.

they shared an amazing friend group of twelve ( who didn't all secretly hate each other ), who were all couples as well. no one was excluded and everybody had their person. it seemed too good to be true.

and it was. bella knew the hard truth. in sixteen days, kimi, ollie, paul, dino and elvira would be leaving. the four boys would have to go back to italy, their school year starting earlier then bella's. elvira would go back to sweden, where her parents were waiting for her.

the thought lingered in her mind, knowing she'd have to say goodbye to her now-boyfriend soon. the maldives wouldn't be the same that last week, she was sure of that.

arabella was currently at the beach, just her and kimi this time. she wanted to spend as much time as she could with everyone, but specifically him. she didn't know how she would return to her normal life when she got back home.

"what's on your mind, dolcezza?" kimi's accented voice broke her from her spiraling train of thoughts. "nothing really, just about home." it wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the full truth either.

the boy next to her raised his brow, looking at her, "homesick?" he questioned, making bella shake her head immediately. "no... it— it's stupid really." she struggled to find the words to tell him, without making the beautiful day all depressing.

"if it bothers you, it's not stupid." he stated firmly, sitting up. he sat criss-cross, waiting for her to also get up. bella, knowing what the boy wanted, sat up as well. "talk to me." he encouraged, making the spanish girl smile faintly.

"i don't wanna make this all depressing with my stupid little personal feelings." she said, trying to laugh it off. kimi didn't seem to find it amusing though. he put his hand on one of her bare legs, "it's not stupid, bellie. tell me what's going on." he encouraged once more.

arabella sighed, giving in to his soothing manner. "it's dumb, we've talked about this before but like... i guess i'm just scared of when you guys go back to italy. i know it won't be the same, especially for the week that we're still here." she ranted for a bit, the boy in front of her listening intently.

he stayed quiet for a few seconds, collecting his thoughts. "i won't lie to you and say it's gonna be easy, because it's not. but i do love you, and i want to at least try. if it really doesn't work out, we'll deal with that if we get to it." kimi spoke in a reassuring way, his hand on her leg moving to hold one of her hands in his own.

it was clear that kimi's love languages were physical touch and words of affermation, which arabella really loved about him. it made her feel loved, and she appreciated it greatly.

the sweet comforting gesture made her tear up, "i know, i love you too and i want to try too but i'm just a little scared of the distance. we're not used to being apart." arabella reasoned, her voice getting shakier with every word.

the first tear ran down her cheek and kimi's free hand was raised, wiping it for her. "don't cry, bellie. distance makes the heart grow fonder, right?" he smiled at her, keeping his hand cupping her cheek.

arabella let out a giggle through her —still flowing— tears. "you're right. i gotta stop going emo about this." she said, going to wipe her tears. the italian boy shook his head with a smile, "it's okay, i actually want you to tell me shit like this. if something's bothering you, especially if it's about our relationship, i want you to tell me so i can help."

kimi's words got to her. she knew the saying 'communication is key', but she never really thought about it. when she was with pedro, nothing was ever good enough. but kimi, he was so easy to love.

the spanish girl didn't have the words to express her emotions and just hurled herself into his figure. the force of her movements and his un-readiness, made the boy fall backwards into the sand, arabella's body fully on top of him.

the situation made both of the teens laugh. kimi rolled them both over, bella now on the bottom. the laughter slowly faded as the world fell away around them.

her breath left her as, in one swift movement, the boy lent down, pecked her on the lips, and moved one of his hands holding him self up to her side. she felt his fingers slowly starting to tickle her, and before she could stop him, he full on attacked her with the torture disguised under the name of tickling.

bella burst out laughing starting to wiggle under the boy, hitting him and trying to get his hands away from her sides. "stop! kimi, fucking stop, pendejo!" she giggled, trying to get away from him.

eventually, he stopped his antics, letting the girl underneath him breathe. "you're such a dick." she panted, glaring at him playfully. "biologically no, but you've seen—" arabella put her hand over his mouth to stop him, "don't finish that sentence, kimi."
