MIDSUMMER DREAMS, Romance apply fic by pheebs!

SCENE 𝐈. San Francisco. Macbeth's Hall.

 ( Enters Principal Ashford )

The loud steps echoed the silent hall as she made her way through the passage between the two sides of the room, at the left the students of Ophelia's Performing Arts School mumbling softly amongst each other, and on the right the East High Academy students watching silently.

Two different worlds mixed in the same little space, two rivals facing each other, no words exchanged, only glares send. 

( Murmurs started filling the room as the woman goes up the stage ) 

Four hundred students had been called to the hall, seniors and juniors filled the seats, the rumours flew fast through small cities, especially after a high school fight, everyone loved the drama, after all, they were teenagers. 

( Principal Ashford clears her throat, touching the microphone with her finger, a high-pitched beep rumbling through the speakers )

Principal Ashford: Good morning students. ( she presses her lips, looking at the dead faces of the teenagers in front of her before forcing a smile ) Due to the recent act of violence in this community, Principal Ledger ( everyone turns to look at the short man in his matching tracksuit at the end of the room ) and me, have spoken and we have concluded that this behavior is unacceptable. Grow up and act your age for once, will you? All of this little rivalry between the two schools is very immature and we are all bloody tired after so many years. 

( the whispers increase, confused eyes searching around the room for answers )

Principal Ashford: The East High students are required to participate in the upcoming play at the OPAS, 'A midsummer night's dream' ──

( the hall erupts in screams and complaints, students start raising from their seats )

Angry student #1: You better be fucking us!

Frustrated girl #4: This is unfair, why do we have to participate in their little play date? Why are we the only ones getting tortured?!

( the East High students cheer agreeing with their classmate )

Annoyed boy #2: You are the ones getting tortured? 'Cause, we are the ones that will have to watch as y'all ruin our play!

Angry student #6: Why can't they participate in our sports, huh?!

Leah: You really think any of us would come out alive after running a fucking mile?!

( Principal Ashford raise her eyebrows agreeing with her student, they were all a bunch of bums ) 

Principal Ledger: I mean by students are right, why aren't your students participating in my school's activities?

 ( the woman opens her mouth, as everyone in the room waits for her to say something )

Principal Ashford: Uhmm ── I guess that  . . . my students could participate in a sport at East High.

Angry girl #1: What?! You are trying to kill us?

Annoyed boy #4: Would y'all stop being dramatic for once?

( the Ophelia's Performing Arts School students explote in a mutual gasp, offended by the boy's comment )

Angry student #1: How dare you?

Irritated girl #1: When will you stop gaining muscle and start to grow some brains for the common good, huh?

Frustrated boy #3: Yeah, there is no way we would work with a bunch of Neanderthals.

Angry girl #2: As if we would want to be with you!

( an East High student throws a banana skin towards the OPAS side causing the left side of the hall raise from their seats, screaming at the East high students )

Boy hit by the banana: mother fuckers!

Angry students #1: Hey dude, some respect to our mothers!

Frustrated girl #2: At least ours teaches us some modals!

This is exactly what happen when the two schools were together, chaos, fights, a disaster was expected each time, after so many years the hatred didn't seem to reduce instead the rivalry grew by the minute, they had to prove to be better than the other. This little experiment the Principals have decided to test would probably end up exploding in their faces. 

( The sound starts picking up, all the screams fading into the condensed hatred and chaos floating around )

Principal Ledger: Okay, kids, calm down, hey! ── ( the banana skin hits his bald head, sliding down slowly as gasps and terrified eyes fill the room ) OKAY THAT'S IT!

( the man walks fast towards the stage, the heads turning to watch him move, taking brusquely the microphone from Principal Ashford )

Principal Ledger: Listen up, you little fuckers. I don't care how much you hate each other I swear if you don't do as we tell you I will make all your lives a living hell, so you better shut that fucking mouth of yours and work together for once in your pathetic lives!

( the room goes silent )
