chapter four ━━ His eyes are like angel but his heart is cold
( Knight in shining armour)
──────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────
☪︎┇ There was a knock on the door of their compartment and the round-faced
boy Ambrosia had passed on platform nine and threequarters came in. He looked tearful. "Sorry," he said, "but have you seen a toad at all?" When they shook their heads, he wailed, "I've lost him! He keeps getting away from me!"
"He'll turn up," said Ambrosia. "Yes," said the boy miserably. "Well, if you see him..." He left. "Don't know why he's so bothered," said Ron. "If I'd brought a toad I'd lose it as quick as I could. Mind you, I brought Scabbers, so I can't talk."
"Look Hightower, thats your ugly shitty face." Daemon grins boyishly.
Otto glares at him with anger. If only glare could kill.
The rat was still snoozing on Ron's lap.
"He might have died and you wouldn't know the difference," said Ron in disgust. "I tried to turn him yellow yesterday to make him more interesting, but the spell didn't work. I'll show you, look..."
He rummaged around in his trunk and pulled out a very battered-looking wand.
It was chipped in places and something white was glinting at the end.
"Unicorn hair's nearly poking out. Anyway." He had just raised his 'wand when the compartment door slid open again. The toadless boy was back, but this time he had a girl with him. She was already wearing her new Hogwarts robes.
"Her hair is...well how to describe it?" Rhaenyra pressed her lips together.
"Has anyone seen a toad? Neville's lost one," she said. She had a bossy sort of voice, lots of bushy brown hair, and rather large front teeth. "We've already told him we haven't seen it," said Ron, but the girl wasn't listening, she was looking at the wand in his hand.
"The bossy voice remind me of someone." Lucerys giggles, glancing at a pouting Baela.
"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see it, then." She sat down. Ron looked taken aback. "Er -- all right." He cleared his throat. "Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow Turn this stupid, fat rat yellow."
"I find her a little rude." Whispers Rhaena.
"Me too!" Nods Joffrey with a smile.
He waved his wand, but nothing happened. Scabbers stayed gray and fast asleep. "Are you sure that's a real spell?" said the girl.
"Well, it's not very good, is it? I've tried a few simple spells just for practice and it's all worked for me. Nobody in my family's magic at all, it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased, of course, I mean, it's the very best school of witchcraft there is, I've heard..I've learned all our course books by heart, of course, I just hope it will be enough -- I'm Hermione Granger, by the way, who are you."
"What the-" Daemon's eyes twitched. That girl talk too much.
She said all this very fast. Ambrosia looked at Ron, and was amused to see by his stunned face that he hadn't learned all the course books by heart. "I'm Ron Weasley," Ron muttered.
"Ambrosia Potter," said Ambrosia.
"Are you really?" said Hermione. "I know all about you, of course- I got a few extra books. for background reading, and you're in Modern Magical History and The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century."
"Am I?" said Ambrosia, feeling amused.
"She is taking it very well for seeing someone who literally have been stalking her life." Daemon nodded his head with all fake seriousness.
"Goodness, didn't you know, I'd have found out everything I could if it was me," said Hermione. "Do either of you know what house you'll be in? I've been asking around, and I hope I'm in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best; I hear Dumbledore himself was in it, but I suppose Ravenclaw wouldn't be too bad.... Anyway, we'd better go and look for Neville's toad. You two had better change, you know, I expect we'll be there
soon."
"Shut the fuck up!"
And she left, taking the toadless boy with her. "Whatever house I'm in, I hope she's not in it," said Ron. He threw his wand back into his trunk. "Stupid spell -- George gave it to me, bet he knew it was a dud."
"What house are your brothers in?" asked Ambrosia. "Gryffindor," said Ron. Gloom seemed to be settling on him again. "Mom and Dad were in it, too. I don't know what they'll say if I'm not. I don't suppose Ravenclaw would be too bad, but imagine if they put me in Slytherin."
"That's the house Vol-," Ambrosia sigh at Ron's tensed face so she stopped. "I mean, You-Know-Who was in?"
"What a cunt."
"Daemon! The kids are in the room." Scolded Rhaenyra, glaring at him.
Daemon turned his attention to Viserys and Aegon. "This was a bad word, say it when you grow up." He told them.
"My Gods." Rhaenys sighed while her grand daughters giggled.
"Yeah," said Ron. He flopped back into his seat, looking depressed. "You know, I think the ends of Scabbers' whiskers are a bit lighter," said Ambrosia, trying to take Ron's mind off houses.
"So what do your oldest brothers do
now that they've left, anyway?"She was wondering what a wizard did once she'd finished school.
"Charlie's in Romania studying dragons, and Bill's in Africa doing something for Gringotts," said Ron. "Did you hear about Gringotts? It's been all over the Daily Prophet, but I don't suppose you get that with the Muggles -- someone tried to rob a high security vault."
"DRAGONS?!" Shouted Viserys and Aemond in disbelief. Daemon frowned, his eyes darkening.
"Pray to tell how in the realm, they have dragons there?" Demanded Aemond, keeping his tone firm.
"Dragons do not belong to you, Targaryen."
Stated Vhagar, she wondered how she was able to keel quiet and not kill that half Targaryen.
She stared.
"Really? What happened to them?"
"Nothing, that's why it's such big news. They haven't been caught. My dad says it must've been a powerful Dark wizard to get round Gringotts, but they don't think they took anything, that's what's odd. 'Course, everyone gets scared when something like this happens in case You-Know-Who's behind it."
Ambrosia turned this news over in her mind. She was starting to get a prickle of annoyance every time You- Know-Who was mentioned. A Dark Lord was this popular and powerful? Yet she defeated him, does this make her 'Dark Princess'? She grinned at the idea.
"Thats actually a cool title!" Exclaimed Luverys, his eyes shining with joy.
Then the compartment door slid open yet again, but it wasn't Neville the toadless boy, or Hermione Granger this time. Three boys entered, and Ambrosia recognized the middle one at once: He was looking at Ambrosia with a lot more interest than anyone else.
"Another one." Colors drains from Otto's fave as he stares at the short middle boy.
Alicent looked at her father in confusion, she turns her eyes back to the screen to try and understand.
"Is it true?" he said. "They're saying
all down the train that Potter's in this compartment. So it's you, is it?" "Yes," said Ambrosia. She was looking at the other boys. Both of them were thickset and looked extremely mean. Standing on either side of the pale boy, they looked like bodyguards.
"They should run a bit."
"DAE- ...Baela." Rhaenyra looked at her stepdaughter. Her lips curls into a smile.
"So when I do a comment, I get scolded
but when my daughter does, she get a
smile from my wife?" Daemon whispered dumbfound
Helaena stared at them, her mind drowning with millions of questions.
None answered.
"Oh, this is Crabbe and this is Goyle," said the pale boy carelessly, noticing where Ambrosia was looking. "And my name's Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." Ron gave a slight cough, which might have been hiding a snigget. Draco Malfoy looked at him.
"Draco? Like a dragon?"
"Another one ..." Repeated Otto.
"Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask who you are. My father told me all the Weasleys have red hair, freckles, and more children than they can afford."
"You see, sweet boy? This sentence is quiet mean toward the poor." Rhaenyra whispered to Lucerys and Joffrey.
Lucerys frowned and nod. He understand that his mother doesn't want him to end
up in any way like his uncles. But he will become better and hurt them in ways nobody could handle.
A sister for a- no ... Lucerys shook his head. This was wrong. 'Bad Luke!' He thought to himself.
He turned back to Ambrosia. "You'll soon find out some wizarding families are much better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."
He held out his hand to shake Ambrosia' but she didn't take it."I do not mean to be rude but firstly Ron happened to be my friend and i dislike what you just told him and secondly I would prefer if both of you apologize to each other if you want to be my friend."
Rhaena smiled brightly. Her sister has not change her view about fairness, its seem.
Draco Malfoy didn't go red, but a pink tinge appeared in his pale cheeks. Ron blushes, his cheeks as red as his hair.
"I'd be careful if I were you, Potter," he said slowly. "Unless you're a bit politer you'll go the same way as your parents. And I would never apologize to a Weasley."
Ambrosia stood up at the mention of
her parents. "I dare you to repeat that, Draco Malfoy." Emerald green eyes shine dangerously into the silver hair boy's pale blue eyes.
A shivers ran down Aegon's spine. Fuck, that bastard of a niece could be so scary sometimes.
"Oh, you're going to fight us, are you?" Malfoy sneered. "Unless you get out now," said Ambrosia, more bravely as Goyle and Grabbe were looking away nervously.
"But we don't feet like leaving, do we, boys? We've eaten all our food and you still seem to have some." Goyle reached toward the Chocolate Frogs next to Ron - Ron leapt forward, but before he'd so much as touched Goyle, Goyle let out a horrible yell.
"Oh, did I hear a scream?" Grins Daemon.
"You sure did, husband."
"Picking up on the weak, Draco? I thought you were better than this." Goyle hold his cheek that had been marked by the pretty sea green eyes
boy from earlier, "Get out before I
make you cry for your mother, brats." all three of them disappeared at once.
"Oh! Its the pretty boy." Pointed Rhaena
out with a grin, creating a frown upon
her father's face.
"He is as pretty as Luke." She giggled.
Lucerys blushed.
"Its you again!" Ambrosia crossed her arms, her eyes were on the boy with dirty blonde hair. "Saving the weak princess once again? Thats all me." His remark annoyed Ambrosia.
"He has quiet the way with words." Said Rhaenys quietly.
"May I know the name of my knight is shining armour?" A smirk curved on
her lips. "Mine is Ambrosia."
"Oh Gods, I know that smirk." Signs Mysaria.
"Corvus. Corvus Rosier, Heir to the noble house of the Rosier, heiress." Ron stayed frozen, he sat back down swallowing nervously at the mention of the boy's name.
"A first born son, I see." Hummed Alicent.
"I hope to not have to save you again, little fox." Soon enough, her knight walked out of the compartment. His
aura outstanded every other boys that Ambrosia have ever met.
Corvus.
"A pretty name, I have never hear of it before." Stated Baela.
"Black ... Black soul." Whispers Helaena.
His name was Corvus Rosier.
Helaena's head felt like it could explode. Too much, words. Too black, too dark.
Black soul, Black heart, Black. All Black.
That boy had nothing left to live for. Black.
While his footsteps slowly disappeared, another footsteps was heard, because a second later, Hermione Granger had come in. "What has been going on?" she said, looking at a frozen Ron.
"Do you know him, Ron?" Ambrosia turned her attention to a scared red head. "I've heard of his family," said Ron nervously. "And him too. His family was one of the strongest Death Eaters and have been on the Dark Side for many generations. "
"Death eaters, if I understand then those eaters of death are followers of that guy, 'you know what' and all." Daemon sighed.
"Even I could have come up with better names." Mumbled Corlys.
"What about him, ron?" Questions the Emerald eyes girl.
"Rumors said that he is a prodigy in magic and potion, that he had killed at the age of five and also that he is very dangerous. No one dare to come near him, not even the Malfoy. You should stay away from him, Ambre- can I call you Ambre?"
Otto raised a brow, "killed at five?" He muses. How unfortunate.
"Aww, poor baby." Rhaenyra said feeling bad for the boy. "Something must have happen for him to kill." She wondered what it could be.
Her father stared at her in regret. How she looks so much like her mother. His poor wife.
Ambrosia grinned at the explaination
of her new friend and amused by his shyness. "Of course, Ronny." Ron groaned at his nickname and turned
to Hermione. "Can we help you with something?"
"You'd better hurry up and put your robes on, I've just been up to the front to ask the conductor, and he says we're nearly there. You haven't been fighting, have you? You'll be in trouble before we even get there!"
Ron scowls at her. "Would you mind leaving while we change?" "All right- I only came in here because people outside are behaving very childishly, racing up and down the corridors," said Hermione in a sniffy voice. "And you've got dirt on your nose, by the way, did you know?"
Rhaena and Lucerys laughed out loud, being follows by Maelor and Aegon III
who was confused and simply want to
join the two teenagers.
Ron glared at her as she left. Ambrosia peered out of the window. It was getting dark. She could see mountains and forests under a deep purple sky. The train did seem to be slowing down. She and Ron took off their jackets and pulled on their long black robes. Ron's were a bit short for him, you could see his sneakers underneath them.
A voice echoed through the train: "We will be reaching Hogwarts in five minutes' time. Please leave your
luggage on the train, it will be taken
to the school separately."
Ambrosia's stomach lurched with excitement and Ron, he saw, looked pale under his freckles. They crammed their pockets with the last of the sweets and
joined the crowd thronging the corridor.
The train slowed right down and finally stopped. People pushed their way toward the door and out on to a tiny, dark platform.
"There are quiet many of students." Mused Rhaenys curiously.
"Like hundred!"
Ambrosia shivered in the cold night air. Then a lamp came bobbing over the heads of the students, and Ambrosia heard a familiar voice: "Firs' years! Firs' years over here! All right there, miss Potter?"
Hagrid's big hairy face beamed over the sea of heads. "C'mon, follow me -- any more firs' years? Mind yer step, now! Firs' years follow me!" Slipping and stumbling, they followed Hagrid down what seemed to be a steep, narrow path. It was so dark on either side of them that Ambrosia thought there must be thick trees there. Nobody spoke much. Neville, the boy who kept losing his toad, sniffed once or twice.
Rhaenyra's eyes softened at the sweet boy who reminded her of her Lucerys. So cute, is he not?
"Ye' all get yer firs' sight o' Hogwarts in
a sec," Hagrid called over his shoulder, "jus' round this bend here." There was a loud "Oooooh!" The narrow path had opened suddenly onto the edge of a
great black take. Perched atop a high mountain on the other side, its windows sparkling in the starry sky, was a vast castle with many turrets and towers.
"No more'n four to a boat!" Hagrid called, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore. Ambrosia and Ron were followed into their boat by Neville and Hermione.
"Everyone in?" shouted Hagrid, who had a boat to himself. "Right then forward!" And the fleet of little boats moved off all at once, gliding across the lake, which was as smooth as glass.
"Its quiet dangerous for children to do specially at night." Complained Alicent.
"Go and do it yourself then." Replied Viserys sassily.
Daemon chuckled at the Hightower girl's face, redder than the Weasley boy. She would never do that.
Everyone was silent, staring up at the great castle overhead. It towered over them as they sailed nearer and nearer
to the cliff on which it stood. "Heads down!" yelled Hagrid as the first boats reached the cliff; they all bent their heads and the little boats carried them through a curtain of ivy that hid a wide opening in the cliff face.
They were carried along a dark tunnel, which seemed to be taking them right underneath the castle, until they reached a kind of underground harbor, where they clambered out onto rocks and pebbles. "Oy, you there! Is this your toad?" said Hagrid, who was checking the boats as people climbed out of them.
"WOW! ITS SO BIG!"
"I agree, Luke!"
"Its so beautiful too!"
"I wanna go for real!"
"Trevor!" cried Neville blissfully holding out his hands. Then they clambered up a passageway in the rock after Hagrid's lamp, coming out at last onto smooth, damp grass right in the shadow of the castle. They walked up a flight of stone steps and crowded around the huge, Oak front door.
"Everyone here? You there, still got yer toad?" Hagrid raised a gigantic fist and knocked three times on the castle door.
Finally, Hogwart.
"Hogwart is quiet ethereal, I never saw
such beautilful castle befofe." Whispered Rhaenyra, her eyes sifted to Aemond's.
Her seeing this at what price? Her daughter's life gone by the hand of
that half breed. Damn him.
